Covered in sweat, blood, and pain… I take my last rep on squat. My head is racing just knowing I am finally done with the hour of pain. It was a humid day, in the middle of summer 2016. Football workouts were a living hell on earth; Especially with our new psycho strength coordinator, Coach Don. He always pushed us past our limits. The day consisted of 10 stations, 6 minutes each of cardio, strength, and speed workouts. I look around the room to see me and my brothers aching of pain. Our head coach, Jeff Wood, signaled the whistle 3 times, meaning we were done. Everyone cheered and high fived. As we were transferring ourselves to rack the weights, Coach Don plants himself in the middle of the weight room and screams, “Time to do it again!”
When David Charles Johnson was a child, he wanted to become a professional football player. He always wanted to become a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. As his parents raised him in Madison, Wisconsin, they encouraged him to try new things and would push him to do his best. David had a lean build with dark-brown hair and blue eyes. He participated in multiple sports, but he enjoyed baseball and football the most. In both sports, he enjoyed the throwing aspects of each game. He enjoyed pitching in baseball and being a quarterback in football. When high school arrived and David was a sophomore, he decided that he only wanted to play baseball and football. He and his parents decided it would be better for him to focus on his academics
Leadership is a key role in all team sports, if you don’t have the leadership odds are is that your not going to have good team chemistry and not an very good season as well. My junior year was a big time learning curve for myself, which is why I am writing this essay to you, to tell you why I believe that I am part of the cream of the crop for our football program.
“You boys are gonna wish you cleaned up the locker room” coach said as we followed him to the football field.I was scared because Coach Hill was always a heavy punisher and he always made it last as long as possible.Coach Hill though of the worst punishments he could think of,such as bear crawls, gassers, sprints, areids and he even had his own hill which was his favorite. We started with gassers which was really tough, we ran about 10 of them, then as I suspected we went to the hill.He started us off with bear crawls and my hand kept hitting rocks and pebbles, then we did back pedals, then we would sprint up the hill and sprint back down, then take off down the field and then all the way back.”Anyone tired yet”? Asked Coach Hill as we got back from running down the hill ”No sir”! We shouted back at him as he blew the whistle to do another rep
I never thought I would have felt so much regret over a high school football game. This game, which happened to be my last high school game, has given me an entire new perspective on the game itself. This one particular football game got in my head emotionally and mentally and it definitely impacted me physically. Knowing that I got hurt and that we lost the game still haunts me to this day. Just thinking about how if I didn’t get hurt we could have won the game just makes me wish none of that would have happened.
The environment that perfectly contents me the most is a football field. I have been in many places and it’s not the same as a football field when am in that field I feel free and stronger. I have always played football since I was six I can’t find any other better place for me than a football field. It’s like a big castle and am the king to be in it the grass, wind, smell and every touchdown feel me to be complete and having me wanting more of it. No one really understands why am doing this as a life dream most don’t believe in me but when it’s time to be in the field I realize that am doing right where I stand and it’s what will be my career. If it’s one thing I learned is that no matter the obstacle your only choices is going through it and I have gone through those obstacles no matter how big or hard it was being a football player on the field and out of it has made me a better
From gaming to the field be sure to always be on my team, I'm not afraid to lead us to victory and push you to your full potential. If you know me at all you would know I'm a team player just look at what I play. I play sports that involve a team not just myself. I love being team leader but I’m always ok if someone else wants to be in charge. Who I am is someone who isn’t afraid to lead but won't support the next guy to lead because I want to strive to make the greatness show in others.
sports or how to play it and how they think wer are sensitive, overemotional, and useless plastic barbies that sit still, and look pretty all day. We all decided to play some sport. What sport? American football, not soccer.
“We need to make to make this field goal to win, and make it to the championship!” the Panthers coach screamed over the roaring voices in the crowd. Roy Williams, star quarterback for the Panthers, looked over to the scoreboard. It was the fourth quarter, two seconds left. The score was tied 26-26 in the semifinal game against their rivals, the Coward Eagles.
It all started when I got grounded.I was in my room all bored just thinking. I was thinking about some of my past actions. One of the major ones that was still clear in my mind was all the times I've hurt myself over my dumb ways or decisions. The freshest memory was when I first started to play football. I was interested in being a quarterback. But back then when I was 8 I had this dumb way off throwing one. It was like throwing a bowling ball into the air. But the feeling of the balls grip made me forget about how I used to throw it. But I did have this occasional feeling when I threw it. As if my arm muscle was being pulled. But I didn't mind for as long as I could throw far and high I didn't really care. But boi I should have listened to
The mixture of dread and excitement come as I walk onto the court. It’s eight in the morning and as I look around, everyone has a tired look on their face. The parents all have coffee and look half asleep. On the other hand, the coach is pumped up. I slip my shoes on not really noticing what I’m doing. Our first game on a new team. We are expecting a team we have played team before but when they walk in, we get a real shock.
It was a bright and June, summer morning in Dierks, Arkansas, Blake and Kyle and I were going to the football field to work on some football so we could get better at it. We all thought this was going to be a beautiful and happy day, but we did not think it was going to be a nightmare.
Well, this is my first post and to be completely honest it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to write, but I finally came to a conclusion.
I love badminton, but because of being limited by my living environment, I did not have any chance to really experience formal badminton playing and practice until I was a sophomore.
I would say at some point in every child’s life they are going to get hurt while playing a sport. You cannot escape the inevitable, and it doesn’t make a difference if those injuries come from recreational or competitive sports its all the same. I am 18 years old and I have been playing soccer since I was 4 and my dad has been my coach ever since. It is obvious we share a love for the sport and throughout this rollercoaster of a journey I have had bruises, bumps, sprains, scrapes, and everything you can imagine to receive from a contact sport. It just the way of the game, and I never once regretted taking one for the team. I was more than ecstatic to begin playing at the high school level because that year I would also be playing competitively
My story begins in a town, a small town, a town where nothing really happens. I live in this town on 1015E 400S todo Road and I go to school in this town. This town is called Knox. In Knox we take pride in our sports like softball, baseball, volleyball but the most important one is football. Football is the sport everyone in town comes to watch, football is what everyone waits for and everyone gets sad when it is over. Me and my friend Jaden Shepard were at one of these particular football games and we were talking about the town.
