Jordan woke up Monday morning telling herself this will not be a boring day. She was going to make an impact on someone. “Ding ding ding!” her alarm clock yelled. “Another day, but today is an extraordinary day!” she yelled with joy. She got up from her bed wearing only sweatpants and a tank top and she wandered to her computer to check her email, like she does every day. She looked at all of her 24 boring emails; bills, emails from work, and more bills. She hated it. But at the end of the row of usual emails, one caught her blue eye, and without hesitating she clicked on it. The mysterious email was from the White House! “WHAT?!” “Drew! Come here!” she yelled to her husband. “What’s wrong?” he asked. “I just got a random email from the White House saying that they want me to fly to Washington D.C and have a meeting with the president!” Jordan said with enthusiasm. “It must be fake” Drew said with a smirk. “No, they’re paying for everything, my ticket, a hotel room, everything”. She said smiling with her jaw wide open about to touch the ground. In 7 hours, she would be meeting the president. Once Jordan finally got done packing, she told Drew, “I love you, and will see you as soon as I can”. Jordan looked nice, professional, and classy; she was ready for whatever this meeting was about. The taxi ride to the airport was so long, it felt like she would miss her flight. But, finally the taxi pulled into a free spot in the airport drop-off section. “Thank you sir!” she told the taxi driver. “Yeah whatever.” He replied. Why are people so rude in New York? She asked herself. She got her ticket, …show more content…
She now only has 15 to get to where she needed to be. This email had her mind in almost every direction. This was the most mysterious email she has ever gotten. Jordan hopped into the cab like it was her own car, and drove off. 20 minutes
I wasn’t sure what our day would entail. I could feel a slight tremor present in my body as I slid behind the steering wheel of the MKZ. Running my finger tips over the leather where the treads to the steering wheel was laced together I contemplated leaping from the car and running like hell. This was a seriously stupid and dangerous thing I was about ready to take part in. Could I do this? My mind wanders to the trunk of the vehicle… What’s back there? How much is back there? Enough to be charged with a misdemeanor…a felony! My heart jack hammered in my chest. Was the benefit worth the risk? Feeling panic setting in I swung my legs out of the vehicle just as Eloy took his seat behind me closing the door. His eyes caught mine in the rearview mirror.
I wasn’t but 6 years old when i found out that life wasn’t all that it cut out to be. Yeah I had always known that nobody was perfect but never that I would feel so empty. When I was 6 years old my mother and her girlfriend filed for custody for me so they could take me away from my home. They wanted to move to Connecticut that was 6 states away from Virginia, my home, my family,my friends, and all I have known. My father put up a fight and wouldn’t let me go he didn’t want me to go and I could never thank him enough for it. When the court date was set everybody was all stressed out and I had a lawyer that came and talked to me about once every two weeks about what I wanted and how the court would work. We saw each other for about two months right up till the court date came around then my mother wouldn’t let me see her anymore because she could tell I was getting upset.
“Bob” calls Brenda out the window. “Come on in sweetie, we have a lot to do today! We barely have time to reflect on our situation right now, due to the 4th of July party coming up; the Smith’s 2008 fashion event; and, your get together with the guys…all in just two days.” Bob, a middle-aged man, lives in New York with his wife, Brenda, and his parents. Soaking up the sun, he stands dressed in a Polo short –sleeve and plaid shorts on the front sidewalk of his Mom and Dad’s home. He calls to his wife, “Brenda, come out here and join me. I need to ask you something.”
My wife and I were running around like chickens with their heads cut off the morning of September 12, 2015. This day changed our lives forever as we tied the knot and become one in the eyes of God. As I look back now, I laugh in cheerfulness at that crazy, but memorable day. Some memories attach themselves to you for a lifetime like a catchy song that tags along for a day.
Guess what my sister did this weekend? Last weekend was her last meet before counties. She did very well. I had so much fun watching her. There were sad moments though when the relay was lost by a split of a second, b. But I still thought it was fun since it was her last meet before winter.
At times, I can be very composed. Other times I can be the fool that I am. When I entered the airport from the plane ride from London, I started freaking out! I was in Africa, but still surrounded by White people and I could not understand their English! Luckily, Elders Reese and Spillane met us at the airport and calmed me down. They told me that the language that those people spoke was Afrikaans. Initially it sounded to me like English that I did not understand, but as I heard it more I became used to it. The thing that I wanted to do most was use the French I know to speak to someone about the gospel and I got the chance! I saw this Black guy who spoke French, who helped load our kombi or van with luggage. I testified
I just want to start this off with saying I'm sorry for arguing and the attitude issues. Lastnight's not how I wanted to spend it. I didn't get a hug or a kiss, all I got was how did you do tonight as if money was the only thing you seemed to care about. Then you tell me to either get out of the car or go home and I said give me a minute because I was on my feet all night at work. And I didn't wanna, stand around the outside of the gas station. People always say never stop fighting for the person you want once you finally get them. And I feel like you don't want to fight for me because you have me now. You know you always tell me that you want the rayann that I was in st. Pete to come back it's hard for her to come back when the last couple of days/week we've done nothing but argue.
Running off the field I swoop up my girl, Daisy Windsor, who was cheering for me on the sidelines. We had just won our last football game of the season against the Mare Island Marines. I started thinking what my life wouldve been like if I continued on with the military field after I graduated. I couldve been one of those marines on the field. I shake the thought and focus on the beautiful girl in front of me in her cute little uniform. "Congrats Mr. Exeter," She smirked. I grabbed her hand and kissed the ring on her finger. "Thank you Mrs. soon-to-be Exeter." I met Daisy soon after I started college. We ran into eachother, literally, on the way to class on the first day. She dropped all her books on the floor and immediately dropped down to
''Wasn't that amazing or what?'' excitedly shouted Cisco as he entered the hall, closely followed by a very emotionally tired, but happy, Sara who was glad that they were able to get the job done.
It was a sunny day, but I was shivering from fear. While the rest of my family was getting into their scuba gear, I was composing a silent prayer to God.
Hello. I am very excited for English this year. I love reading because it is an interesting way to see how other people deal with situations and I love entering the character's world and seeing how others live. I also like speaking in front of audiences and creating some kind of project after a unit. In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my friends, camping with my family, and I love swimming. I didn’t have a very interesting summer. For the first half of the summer I had a broken fibula and for the second half of the summer, I had a shattered heel. In my free time I read lots of books; Firefly Lane, The Forgotten Garden, The Selection series, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, Etc. I also went to all of my teammates swim competitions to cheer them
We were given the date of the surgery and, the way out to make my day even better, I heard the surgeon say to my mom, that I would have to stay over night at the hospital after the surgery. Awesome.
I was just on my way home from school when it all began. I had decided to grab some lunch at McDonalds on the way home when I noticed the most peculiar sights. There were some bite marks on the sign, there was nobody working the register, and I even saw a kid outside eating the apples from his meal! “One burger and fries please,” I said through the speaker. There was silence on the other end. “Hello? Hmm must not be open,” I said as I drove away. Almost like magic, I bluntly looked through the window of the drive thru and saw something you wouldn’t believe even if it was right there in front of you! A reindeer! I saw it as plain as day! It was licking the end of a soda machine nozzle. I didn’t see an employee in
I woke up this morning like any other morning, difficulty. My mother had to rip the blankets off my body which felt like Ice on my skin when the cold air hit me. I got up out of bed and started to get ready for school. When I reached down stairs, I got an immediate bad feeling something about today didn’t feel right. I started to eat my cereal as I heard my brothers cartoons in the background. I finished my cereal and started my mile walk to my school. About Half way on my walk to school, I heard this loud noise as I looked up I saw dozens of planes above my head dropping hundreds of men with parachutes and guns. I ran into the first house I saw it was a vacant beaten down old house that was missing all it’s windows and most of it’s
"Tanner, i'm honestly not in the mood today to do this, so can you please just get my stuff and get out of my seat?"
