WEEK ONE Today I visited the LA Dodgers, the coach (Manny Mota) contacted me a few weeks ago and asked me to help locate and fix some of the players psychological problems. Mark, Steven, Brad, Nick, Jasper, Mathew, Anthony, Shawn, Cory and Eric have all been playing with the LA Dodgers for a few years and have been dealing with some heavy psychological issues that are effecting there training sessions and the way they play individually and as a team. As I explained to the boys today I will be breaking it down in 7 weeks. Every week I will visiting a few training sessions, gym sessions and there games and watch them individually and as a team to find where and how I can help fix the team and make it a stronger team as they have been losing
Today is the last day before I report for Spring Training. Of the 5,000,000 children playing baseball in the U.S., only 1,500 will be drafted into the MLB. I have worked hard enough to be one of the lucky few that make it. Before I report for Spring Training, I want to have a day to remember. I would go to my most favorite places, go see my most favorite people, and go do some of my favorite things.
I was dropped off the travel baseball team? “How could this be” I asked my dad, he replied “I don’t know Josh you didn’t put that much effort into your last game and you don’t try in practice”. The travel baseball team is the most prestigious youth baseball team when I found out I had been dropped I was heartbroken I wanted to crawl into a hole and cry. My dad tried to talk me into trying to try out for different team I just turned around and didn’t say a word. I ran outside, grabbed my baseball glove and threw it in the pool I never wanted to see a baseball glove or bat again.
Lights blaring into my eyes, the crack of the bat, the shouting of the overly-devoted parents, the salty aroma arising off of the freshly roasted peanuts, all came together to create the overwhelming presence of a little league baseball game. This was a place where I spent most of my time on week day afternoons, in the spring, watching my brother succeed at America’s pastime. He was really quite good at this sport called baseball; he had just been granted the position of starting pitcher for the team. Sometimes things that have occurred in my life, and stuff I have received, that I may not have necessarily deserve, can be taken for granted. However, after what was about to take place my eyes are given a new perspective.
We won we are going to state! In May 2015 my high school baseball team finally beat St. Thomas Moore in the regional championship to go play in the state tournament in Sioux Falls, that was something that the Winner/Colome baseball team has not done since 2009. So on May 30th 2015 we headed to the State tournament in Sioux Falls, and in the first game we played Dell Rapids. We ended up having to play 13 innings in about 95 degree weather we ended up winning to go to the championship where we would play West Central the team that was favored to win the championship. I am going to tell you a little about the plans, the expectations and what really happened to our baseball team last spring.
Many people struggle to find what they are passionate about in life which can lead to an instability that can limit potential. However, I was one of the lucky ones that realized my passion by the time I was 2 which was America's pastime: baseball. Whether it was the fact that it had been a game with a long standing tradition in our family or the fact that it is a sophisticated game with many strategies and intricate details, I had fallen in love before I knew it.
lukas k//After school I hung around with my friends until baseball practice at 4:30. until baseball practice. At baseball practice we practice and fielding and hitting.after baseball practice me and my friend Max walked back to his house, after baseball practice me and my friend Max Walked back to his house, because it's only five blocks away.we hung out and rode bike for a couple hours until my dad pick me up. When my dad picked me up, he informed me that I could babysit. my dad picked me up, he informed me that I could babysit. After thinking about it, I said “yes”. He brought me to McDonald's, then to Shanes. The person I babysit for. After babysitting until 330. I went home, took a shower and went to bed. The next morning I got up at
A place can be any position or point with space around. A corner, a site on the internet, McDonalds, or even if you’re lost in the woods you're still in a place because of the space that’s around. A place such as The Mexican Restaurant, where my parents go on special occasions or when I talked to a friend at The Baseball field about certain point of every aspect of the game we play, or even when My family was so traumatized when our dad went out onto the ocean when the waves we crashing in. He tells us he’ll be fine so he heads out on the sand and starts walking the opposite direction of us, the waves came in and crashed into the feet of the cliff. We thought he was gone but he came back and said the waves almost got him but he found a crack
And home run, there it goes into the crowd. And the Cubs lose again! Now the League Team is heading to their next game in Alabama now, lets see if they will win again! Oh wow another home run this a new record! Now Michelle is up to the plate about ready to bat… and oh no he misses that one, and oh oh no he is down.
Freshly cut grass with a large diamond of dirt and the bottom surrounded by many bleachers. Fans packed outside waiting for the gates to be opened. And then there is a click, stadium workers open the gates and fans rush in with their hats, jerseys, posters, and more. The seats soon fill and the empty stadium turns into a packed one. The same happens everyday during baseball season at AT&T Park the home of the San Francisco Giants. For most this wasn’t their first time going to a baseball game but for me it was.
That when you do something in the past that you weren’t good at, then you try it again. When, you try it again you would know what to do but better. So, when I took a break from baseball and didn’t play for months and I came back better than I ever was. So, taking a break was a good thing for me cause i cleared my head and had a different mindset. And, they made me be better at what I do, and maybe even better than people that I couldn’t beat in the past. I once, saw a docomatary about a player (Derek Jeter) that took a break from playing sports and was a good thing for the Yankees. They won the World Series when he came back to play for them. Then i started to think to myself that if they took a break and
As the crowd was cheering as the game went on I was on the edge of my seat. At the time my family was visiting California for the first time. We all had a blast and before we wanted to leave all of us wanted to go to a baseball game. As we were walking to the stadium all of the hard core fans were getting hyped for the game. All of them playing games in the parking lot.It felt like I was meant to be at the game. I was rooting for the angels at the time because the rest of the crowd was. My dad was taking pictures of the players throwing, catching, and making plays. I remember as the game was getting close to the end that I had to get cotton candy. Cotton candy was one
Over my spring break I was lucky enough to get to go to Florida with my college baseball team and I got to see one if the most beautiful baseball stadiums in the US, JetBlue Park. I got to watch Florida Gulf Coast take on Florida State at JetBlue Park, which is used as a spring training field for the Boston Red Sox. My initial thought of the field is it’s almost exactly like Fenway Park with the same field layout, the big green monster in left field. Which surprised me because this was only a spring training field, very few games will be played or broadcasted here. This ballpark was unexpectedly nice and an experience I will never forget.
My sport would probably be baseball, even though basketball is a very fun sport. I find baseball to be more of a passion than a hobby. Truly I want to make baseball my place or form of employment, because it makes me feel like even though growing up and maturing I can still go out onto the field, and feel like a young child again.
There was this one time my parents and my family went to LA, and I was here. They went to go watch the Dodger game. They left and I was here with my grandma. They stayed for a week in LA. It was actually pretty good without them. They were there on a nice vacation. The last thing they did is go watch the dodger game. After they watched the game, they went straight on the car and hit the road. I know for a fact that none of my siblings like wearing their seatbelts, so they don’t ever put them on. What my father told me was he was stuck in traffic for almost 2 hours. After he got out of traffic, he then started accelerating the gas because he was relieved that he got out of traffic. Then a car comes out of an exit and he cuts off my dad. My dad
My hands shook as I dove into the cool blue Atlantic. Unwilling to brave the brisk sea water, my 472 troop mates remained on the schooner. Three masts stretched high in the sky; their pristine white sails billowing above the booms. Aptly named, our ship, the Yankee, reminded us that we were misplaced sailors. The waves battered the hull as the captain lowered the anchor, its black iron slicing through salty white crests. At the anchor’s command, the rest of our crew lept like synchronized divers off of the ship and into the vibrant coral reefs surrounding Key West.
