Personal Narrative Analysis

All sports require time and dedication to a certain extent. Dance has been my passion and weekend activity since I was three and became a very serious thing from seven to around twelve. I danced at a studio until I entered middle school at K.O. Knudson and dance was my major. I left K.O. and moved to Summerlin where I now attend Palo Verde. I received dance as my elective, being weary about the class considering I was also recovering from a back injury even during my time at K.O. and on top of that knowing I was loosing all of my skill from being absent forever and a day.

I am forty four years old with three children and a wonderful husband. I grew up in Oklahoma and later moved to Kansas, and then Arizona where I finished my degree is Political Science at Arizona State University. My career goals were to attend law school after undergrad, so that I could be an advocate for children that were suffering serious injustices back then, and sadly they still seem to be suffering those injustices today.

The pronunciation that I presented was more clear and sounded more like a poem than the Pronunciation Sampler with J. Prathiwi.

Once upon a time, there was an illegal immigrant named Rosa she came from a poor family and her mother left her when she was 4 years old for another man.

At the age of twenty nine, I faced an inevitable, drastic, and ultimately life changing decision. My options were limited, with no stress-free path to select. One path led down a very dark road, one that would have led to an abrupt end to my own life. The other route led to personal happiness, however, met with great sacrifice. Being that I felt strongly against the first option, I chose the second path. A reset button was pressed.

Nowadays, technology is an important tool used in so many different aspects of our life to help things like finance, navigation, and even food. With all of the advancements and ideas that the tech industry is making, technology is now becoming more and more involved in the health and wellness aspects of our lives. Now Physical therapists are starting to go along with this trend and have been using more of the tools and applications that are being created to help with the rehabilitation of their patients. Some of the new technology that has been created are specific video games that have new workout routines, stretches, timers and diet suggestions for the Wii or X-Box Kinect. There are also new smartphone and smart watch apps with similar features

All my life I have had the opportunity to travel and broaden my horizons. I have been blessed with the ability to accumulate to different cultures and environments. From being born in Italy, moving to Japan, and now currently residing in Louisiana, I have seen more than what most others can only dream. Those three very different places are just a few of the dozens areas of the world I have traveled to, yet out of all of destinations I have visited New York City most definitely tops the list. This city is a world of it's own in my eyes. There is no other place I can see myself continuing my journey in life. Eighteen years ago I was delivered in a hospital in Tokyo, Japan and was taken to the United States embassy a month later to become a United States citizen. My parents had been living in Japan for two years, my father was on a work vista, and we stayed for another six. Whenever I talk about my early years I am aware it was a unique upbringing that would not have been possible a hundred years ago. Social and economic changes, and technological innovations in the 20th century impacted me even though I was born three years before the turn of the century.

Losing two of my best friends within six months of each other was one of the hardest things I have had to do. They were a major part of my life for almost 17 years, before they left. Through this experience, I learned to be an example of kindness, hard work, and diligence for those around me.

Admittedly, I've done a lot of things that others would consider abhorrent. I've also been subject to things that others would consider abhorrent but after 12,000 deaths you start to know what's a 'good' way to die and what isn't. I've had my head removed by plasma coated blades, I've been hit by 80GJ Compressed Railguns (you don't feel it), and I've felt what it is like to hold a Locus Grenade in the hand for too long.

Me just like any other human being make mistakes we’re not perfect, but we’re all special in our own ways. Something I feel makes me special is that at a very young age i started playing sports. I now consider myself an athlete. That makes me feel special because not everyone is capable of having to do school work and play sports during school. Sports have also showed me discipline. Another thing that it showed me was how to take leadership and help others.

When I was in fifth grade, I was caught between two worlds, playing the a woodwind or strings instrument. After much thought on which one, I decided that the violin was the best instrument for me, because it had a beautiful, unique sound, plus the possibilities are incredible. I could receive a compliment from a teacher, or even get accepted to the symphony. In elementary, I was known as the best player for my patience and understanding of every piece we played. “Your daughter is my best student in all 4 schools that I teach,” exclaimed my orchestra teacher, Ms. Nichols, to my mother. Ever since then, I have been practicing my violin every minute of every day. At the end of my sixth grade year, I received a letter stating that I have been invited

During a career day presentation back in the 3rd grade, the speaker planned on showing us a video on the project, unfortunately, he didn't have a clue on how to work it. The teacher called for help and left the classroom. Then I asked, "would you mind if I help?" He stepped back and watch me attempt to fix it.

Every speaker has helped me construction a better understanding of earning a doctorate. I started listening to Sterling and Katie and thought, wow that is cool, and they are really smart and hardworking, and then transformed my approach to the speakers when Jackie and Mark came to speak with us. During Jackie and Mark’s presentation, something changed. I no longer felt like earning this degree was out of my reach. They both told us many times that we too could earn a doctorate. Something about their sincerity made me believe that it was true; I am smart enough, I am dedicated enough to earn a doctorate. This changed my purpose for all the presenters that followed. Each speaker since has helped me map my dissertation schedule and topic.
