Words cannot begin to describe how thankful I am that your family has continued this amazing scholarship opportunity. As I’ve matured over the last for years, I truly realize just how much your family has contributed to my success. The faith you have instilled gives me inner strength and sense of balance in life. Every chance I get, I pray for Eric and the Hertzberg family. I know it has been awhile, but here is a wonderful update on the motivation Eric and you family has given me to achieve the goals I have set!
I recently received my Bachelor’s of Science in Economics from Towson University, having graduated with a GPA of 3.47. While attending Towson University, I devoted my time training and leading Towson’s Club Wresting as a team captain
I was awarded the Drexel Liberty Scholarship in 2015, but today, while reflecting on my college career, I am more appreciative of your donation than ever before. The past couple of months have not been the easiest for my family and I, but thanks to your donation, my financial standing at Drexel was not an additional burden. Furthermore, this scholarship has given me the privilege to advanced my education in my dream school and enjoy the perks of being a Drexel student, such as co-op.
I am DeQuandra Lyles from Sawyerville, Al and I'm grateful for my family and the scholarship to Neosho Community College. I'm grateful for my family because it has been a rough week for me. I can always count on them they support me and everything I do. Even when I have bad days my family are my motivators. Family would listen to what you have to say and will refuse to give up on you. However, I'm grateful for the scholarship I didn't expect to receive one. The scholarship helped me out a lot I was less stressful. The scholarship paid for my tuition and books so less money came out of my parents pocket.
Throughout my entire life, I have always been one to constantly push myself and pursue new challenges. In high school, I excelled academically while also being a three-sport athlete, a member of the National Honor Society, and held an active presence in my community. In the classroom, for as long as I can remember, I’ve been intellectually curious and fascinated with solving problems through quantitative reasoning. The desire to continue my education in a quantitative field and gain important soft skills, while also boasting the ability to be involved in many extracurriculars led me to pursue a degree in economics from DePauw University. In a constantly changing industry such as finance, it is imperative that one is able to adapt quickly and think outside of the box, and DePauw has prepared me to do just that. I
I was thrilled to find out about this scholarship and want to thank you personally for giving students like me the opportunity for further financial assistance in college. I appreciate your contribution to the education of my generation, the future leaders of the world.
I looked forward to this trip every single year. Driving to get there was almost better than the camping trip itself. The road had big hills that made your stomach drop on the way down, and I always pretended I was on a roller coaster. At the top of one of those hills, there was a wooden sign, painted brown with yellow letters, all in capitals, that said “WICKLUND’S CAMPGROUND”. The driveway was a simple, downhill dirt road that had a bend at the bottom of the decline. Driving around that corner, you could always see the lake sparkling through the thin line of trees because the sun was always shining. It was cloudy that day.
I would like to expand my appreciation to you regarding the generous scholarship which you awarded me. This scholarship is not only an amazing assistance to me and my family, but also an honor of which I am very proud.
I take this time to express appreciation for the $500 scholarship that has been given for my to pursue a higher education. With both parents being 1st generation college graduates receiving their bachelors degree with having to providing for four children I saw them as the ultimate example of knowing the importance of going to college. Being the oldest child they wanted to instill the importance of continuing on to college. With being apart of a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I was taught the importance of staying out of debt hence the reason I applied for this scholarship. I

I would like to share with you how grateful I am to have been selected for the First Generation Scholarship. Being a first-generation student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in my family is both exhilarating and intimidating. I never fathomed being able to manage the cost of higher education, nor believing the probability of being selected for a scholarship. Opening the letter and reading the words, “Congratulations, I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected…”, was one of the most surprising and emotionally charged moments of my life. I simply could not believe what I was reading, especially considering that this was the first and only time I have applied for a scholarship. Too many times I heard how it was impossible to get one because there are too many people applying – it would be like winning the lottery. I would hear how it was a waste of time and not worth the
The first is my bachelor’s degree, which I will complete in May 2016, when I graduate cum laude from University of Maryland University College with a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies. The second is a Master of Arts degree from the Elliott School of International Affairs.
Although I have only spent two semesters at Mississippi State, I have already grown to love my experience here. My ability to attend this year was made possible thanks to the generosity of these scholarships. My family is also grateful for the support, as there are three of us (Parrish siblings) in
I wanted to express my appreciation to receive The Margaret M. Gillet Memorial Scholarship in Education for $3,386 towards my tuition of 2017-2018. Within the past two years of attending Benedictine University, I have been a full-time student, had a part-time job, which this past year I worked on campus at the Office of the Registrar and at the Circulation Desk as a student worker. When I was first admitted to Benedictine University, I received the Presidential Scholarship, Opportunity Award, and the Leadership Award. Throughout my first two years at Benedictine University I have received awards and scholarships to help me achieve my dream to become a Special Education teacher. For the next academic school year, I have received another scholarship,
It was May 14, 1910 in Louisville, Kentucky. The sun was luminously shining and it felt like I could taste the summer breeze. Ma and Pa were about to head out for their yearly trip to Florida. Nobody had any clue how they had enough money for this trip but, we all knew that they always had a splendid time! Before they headed out Chuck, my brother and Susie, my sister gave both Ma and Pa a huge hug that seemed to last forever and a little picture to take along with them. I said my goodbyes and they both were off to the airport.
He writes: “I propose we use the undeveloped land to build a dog park for our neighborhood.”
I am not one to get attached easily. I find it hard to trust people because of events I am not willing to share. I think I am a cautious person who needs to make sure everything will play out right before I commit to anything. I do not like guessing or having to explain myself. I am a straightforward kind of person; I will tell you how it is and I will expect you to do the same. Unfortunately, not everyone is like that. But they are. They never leave me guessing and they do not sugar coat anything. They help me with my problems and they are always there for me with their words. They are Eric and Lindsay. They were married with no children and they were the youth ministers at my church.
