I walked around the truck to grab some boxes. My dad was already in working mode, putting all the boxes in the house. I looked at my neighbor's house, that was a little too close to mine. These places didn't believe in privacy or something. I carried boxes to and from the truck. I walked outside to grab another box when I noticed a girl picking up something in the neighbor's yard. Her long auburn hair was pulled into a ponytail. She didn't notice me, or even look my way. She walked into the house, not even looking up.

She walked ahead of us and guided us to a dining room. A man was lighting the last of the candles when he noticed us. " "Welcome! I made spaghetti for dinner, I hope that's okay." He welcomed us and the girl stood next to him, I'm guessing he was her father. My dad laughed at something he said. "I'm Steve, this is my daughter Aubrey." The girl smiled and my dad introduced us. "I'm Richard, This is Maggie and Dean." I nodded my head towards Steve.

As soon as we sat for dinner Steve spoke up. "How about after dinner the kids can get to know each other and us adults can enjoy some grown-up juice." My dad laughed and agreed. I noticed Aubrey staring daggers at her dad.

I followed Aubrey up to her room. When we got in the first thing I noticed was the black record player in her room. I didn't hear most of what she said. "-favorite song by them?" I looked down at my shirt, "Nightmare. You have any vinyls, or is this just for looks?" I loved music, and I was really hoping that she wasn't one of those girls who buys old stuff for fun. She smiled and pulled out a file box full of records from under her bed. I flipped through them until I found one I liked.
