Personal Narrative: Hi Mrs. Flint

The person I have chosen to do my essay on is Mrs. Gardner. Mrs. Gardner is my advisory teacher. When I first started school here at Potosi High School, I had a very difficult time adjusting to this new place. I had come fresh out of a homeschooling program and before that, I attended a small private school. I was scared that I wouldn't do well in this school. I was especially nervous about grade checks. I've always been a good student and made good grades, but I was worried that the stress of switching schools would get to me and I'd struggle. Mrs. Gardner has been encouraging and empathetic to me since day one. She has reminded me not to worry so much and that as long as I'm doing my best, that's all that matters. She has taught me

As part of the greater push at that grade level to introduce kids to a greater depth of books, Mrs. Oak created a game that would award points based on the number and length of books that you read, with a prize being given to the winner at the end of every month (usually candy). Now being the clever nine year old brat that I was, I decided to game the system by quickly flipping through a great number of small children’s books every day. While this did put me ahead on points, I was completely avoiding the entire point of the game. So to Mrs. Oak’s great credit, she decided to limit the number of books I could check out of the school’s library to three per week. I had the opportunity to interview a colleague of mine Brenda, who is a teacher in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing department at our school. Brenda herself is Deaf and was raised by Deaf parents, which benefited her greatly. She began at the Institute for the Deaf and Blind, now known as Montana School for the Deaf and Blind, from preschool to tenth grade. Brenda told me that by the time she had become a tenth grader the school district in Montana was more willing to accept a student who was Deaf. Before this time without the proper legislation like the IDEA law, school districts did not have provide free and appropriate education. Even though she was permitted to attend a mainstream high school, she only took elective type classes. She said that

Week one has passed by quickly! I think this week was very successful and I can say that I have learned many new things. This week has been an experience for me learning things about the business world. I am not a business major so I was not expecting to take these classes. I was assigned them, but have found them very beneficial. As I read through the first couple of chapters I read things I had heard before. This was a good thing that I could put the information with the terms I had heard previously.

I wanted to sort of touch base with you about my absence as I am doing with all my teachers and basically wanted to offer an explanation so that I don't cause any more frustration, hopefully.

I started off school at a little preschool called Goddard School, Miss Jackie and Miss Karen were the first teachers I’d ever had. We did the usual preschool thing… nap time, snacks, and learning the abc’s. But the highlight of my preschool experience was the Bubble Lady. The Bubble Lady filled a pool with sudsy bubble mix that had a large bubble wand in surrounding the wooden block that was big enough for two people. Riley and I stood on the wooden block as a fragile bubble surrounded us. I still have the picture sitting on my fridge.

Always do everything you do to the best of your abilities, never settle for anything you do not reaching its potential, and most importantly, remember you are portrayed through your work.

I have raised my voice for, and will continue to raise my voice for, people less fortunate than myself. More specifically however, I often stand up for and help my autistic older sister, Abby. Ever since I can remember, I have felt obligated to fulfill my duty as a "little-big brother", because she is older than me. Whether it be taking her to school, taking her to baseball games, or playing "Dogoply" with her, I have tried to imprint a positive attitude on her so that she can continue to grow into an even greater person than she already is. In my thirteen years of schooling I have studied under more than fifty teachers, all of which have dropped a coin or two into my academic piggy bank. But, when I think of a person who has had an important influence on my life, one name stands out in my mind more than others: Mrs.Cox. This woman was one of a kind! As both my second and third grade teacher, Mrs.Cox had two full years to fill my head with the wonders of science, math, reading, and writing. Within this time frame she taught me with strategies I had never seen before and ultimately helped me gain an in-depth understanding of the core subjects in a way that made me realize that with unwavering focus and commitment I could master anything I was given.

Today, was a crazy and long day. This week I am only teaching Math, Daily 5, and Social Studies. During Daily 5 today Mrs. Haberman the principal came into observe me. I went through the interactive lesson before class, but I should have looked over the directions a little bit better. I tried to put the incorrect word into the box, and Mrs. Vavra told me that I needed to make sure I knew what it was asking me to do. I can’t believe I let this happen especially since Mrs. Haberman was in there. I was nervous about her coming in already and now I am nervous to see what she has to say about the lesson. It was not my best lesson by far and of course it had to be the one that Mrs. Haberman was observing. I personally I think the problem was that

I interviewed Ms. Ashley Rogers. She told me that her mother is a person that has had the most impact in her life. Her mother was successful in her career and as a mother. She showed her how to be an upstanding citizen and a good person. She showed her how to be a leader to others when needed and support those who need it as well. She supported her through every career change or decision she made in school. The most important decisions she makes as the leader of her organization is that working with her department chair and other teachers it forces her to make decisions that show them how to do better at their job. She encourages creative thinking within her organization by making students think outside the normal. With her coworkers she

Hi, Im Laura but I had you as a teacher last year so you already know that. To Start, my family has 3 people in it and 1 very cute dog Buddy. I'm an only child and my family consists of my dog, my mom, dad, and me. Something I enjoy outside of school is dance. I have dance on Mondays, Wednesdays Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays so I don't have a lot of time for other things. I do competitions for dance and my team and I recently went to New Jersey for the world dance competition and we won in 2 categories. When I'm not at dance I like to do a lot of different things with my friends like going tubing and seeing movies. Plus I like to jump on my trampoline. Finishing up, these are some facts about me and what I like to do.

It seems like half of our conversations are about musicals. She, being the most musically talented person I know, usually introduces me to a certain musical and asks me if I know of it. Usually I do not, and she continues to enlighten me. Each musical she describes is full with its own characters, songs, and interesting storylines. I see each musical that she describes like I see her. She has thousands of different layers. Even though we have been best friends for over a year now, I still feel like there’s parts that I have never gotten to know.
