Personal Narrative: My Current EEO Case

I have never had a formal job where I went to work everyday and got paid for it; my closest experience has been community service and an unpaid internship. My first community service experience where I didn't go with a school, but was something I signed up for myself was at my mother’s job. At the time she worked for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) where she helped with cases of wrongful termination due to discrimination in the workplace. My job for the day was to help put case files into envelops so they could be served to the company being sued for discrimination. I received a call from Lorna and Christina. Lorna said that she got an Order of Dismissal from the Hearing Rep, but she did not understand what it says, what this is about. She swiftly read it, saying that the claimant file a hearing on 05/10/17, which is a very late request.

Human rights are in place for a reason, because all persons regardless of their age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, ability, class, appearance and social location deserve to, and ought to, be treated with fairness and in an equitable manner. My responsibility as a Canadian citizen and professional is to uphold and promote all human rights regardless of my social location and assumptive world view. I contacted with Chicago Law Clinic. Then they directed me to the National Immigration Justice Center. I know this place and other alternative places. I called them several times to make a free or reduced rate appointment. I also spoked with many people from different departments of Loyola. Unfortunately, they are busy or providing general help. I know many of their advice. I also know well asylum application process due to my personal research during the absence of an attorney for me. As a result, many free legal services are very limited and don’t provide specific help or advice! As a result, the best solution is to have an attorney. Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford it now!

This assignment will critique the phenomenon of suspension within the NHS and explore the inequalities in how the Department of Health (DOH) manage this process. This will focus upon the differences between how medics (doctors and dentists) and nurses are managed within the NHS. The number of those affected by the process of suspension will be highlighted and there will be a discussion of the policies and procedures available to these professionals working within the NHS. A brief description of why suspension occurs will be offered and the experience of those affected by the process of suspension will be examined which will look at stress; in particular within nursing, bullying and harassment and look at how whistleblowers are treated.

After Arlene’s suspension (12/21/16-12/26/16) due to absences, Arlene called in 12/28/16. On 12/29/16 Arlene, Hiroki, and myself had a meeting to discuss the problem and next steps. Arlene was told, and said she understood that any absences going further would result in her termination.

My need for exemption falls on the financial disability my family and I will face if I were to dorm at Cal Poly Pomona. My mom does not have a permanent or stable job to rely on because she babysits on an irregular basis, which is why she can’t present her taxes to demonstrate her income. I also have a 7 year old brother whom I help with homework and any school related activity because of the language barrier between my mom and his education. Cain Hall at 9:30 PM and found you sitting down and reading a book on an electronic device while your coworker was shampooing the floor. Mrs. Renteria instructed you to go back to work and informed you that disciplinary action will occur if you were found taking additional unauthorized breaks in the future. You acknowledged that you understood her directions by replying with, ‘got it’.

The last time I did something challenging was probably this summer when my brother in law left for Afghanistan. It was extremely hard for my family.

I informed her That I was taken off work by a physician and had given my note to Dr. Cook who was the department head at the time. The write up (which I returned to her) also contained other dates covered by a Family Medical Leave Act, which I received due to my mothers battle with Lung Cancer. I believe in the right to immigrate. Immigration is a very big aspect in a lot of people lives. 321.4 million people in the United States are immigrants according to American Community Survey (ACS) data in 2015. I have never immigrated myself since I was born here in the United States but the rest of my family has. So when trump had the immigration ban I felt that he attacked so many people.

Its a well known fact that all players of a baseball team have a nickname. Well all except for me. It started in the dreaded On Deck Circle.
