Saint Vincent College is a college that was on my radar during the application process and was also the first one that I applies to. I knew that Saint Vincent College was going to be my home away from home the moment i stepped foot on campus during my first college tour. One advantage for me is the campus size. Coming from Windber and it’s school district, I am used to a very small school and class size all in a rural area. The big city schools with thousands upon thousands of students never appealed to me; what I wanted was a small, affordable school. Going through the application process and seeing the overall price tag was an intimidating thing for me, but getting in contact with the financial aid department was extremely beneficial. Talking
During my time at Union County College I have been faced with a lot of difficulties. I’ve struggled along the way but one thing I do believe is that I have the power to do better. My GPA has been affected by my personal mistakes. In my past semesters I have let my job take over my life rather than let school be most important. I have also let my personal family problems affect my work ethic. But through my fall 2014, it was most difficult because of March 2014 I lost my father through an unexpected heart attack. Throughout my fall semester I did struggle and cope with my father not being here anymore. I believed that I wasn’t focused enough because I used fall semester as a time to occupy myself rather that time out to deal with my father’s
As I sat on the couch getting ready for the first day back at school, I heard the phone in the kitchen ring. I stood up to go answer it and I heard loud footsteps coming down the stairs. My mother was running down the stairs to answer it just in case it was one of her work calls. I noticed that her voice started to crack as if she was going to cry and the smile that she once had on her face had disappeared. The person on the other end of the phone was my Uncle Dylan from California calling to let us know that Aunt Liz had died in a car wreck. We were so devastated but little did we know she left me $12k. A couple days later I received a letter in the mail saying that I had to use it to help pay for my tuition. I am looking to attend the nursing program at Lindenwood, Missouri State, or St. Louis University.
If I could go back in time and relive a particularly difficult moment in my life, I will work part-time in the weekend in high school. I want to save my money. I want to travel other state. I also want to see my childhood friends. I wish I spend more time to have fun with my friends when I was young. When I first came here I went to school and I didn't how many class I have to take the class and to pass the MACS. I spent one more year to get my diploma. I wish if I know all this I will take class that require. I will go to Middlesex Community College early to practice the MACS because they have MACS class. After I going Middlesex Community College I pass the MACS. It is very helpful to go there. I learned a lot of MACS how to answer the open
During admission into Bronx Community College, I faced one of the most stressful predicaments academically. After applying, and having my transcripts mailed, I waited about two weeks before calling to ensure the transcripts were received. An admission counselor confirmed all transcripts were received and in the process of being reviewed. Five weeks later, during the first week of registration, I was informed one of the transcripts had been misplaced. Avoiding any further delay, I hand delivered the missing transcript. A few weeks later, I received a registration appointment. I was put on a list, received a number, and waited 9am to 5pm on a line for two days until my name was called. Unfortunately, while sitting with an advisor I found out
I hope this letters finds you well! In May I will complete my first year at Manhattan Christian College. My current major is family and counseling. Being here at MCC has strengthened my faith in so many ways. In high school I was able to participate in five mission trips throughout the United States. I have always had a passion to help people and in 2011 when I went on my first mission trip I had a yearning to go out of the country and help people. Although I was only a freshman in high school I didn’t put that dream on the back burner. I want to share with you a challenging ministry opportunity God has presented to me. During July 2016, I will be going to San Cristobal, Dominican Republic as an internship.
While Anne Arundel Community College is one of the most accredited community colleges in Maryland, I aspire to fulfill my academic needs elsewhere. The main reason I had to enroll at AACC was because I was diagnosed with brain cancer in February of 2016, this forced me to stay near Johns Hopkins Hospital to receive treatment. As fall approached my treatments became frequent and daunting. Never mind the fact that I was missing class that I was on the verge of failing, I felt depressed. Being a community college, AACC cannot provide me with an adequate college experience. Here I can't cheer on the football team or spend late nights in the library studying. As I see my peers living it up and making a name for themselves at their respected colleges, I feel
2015 Fall is my first year at Harper College, within my experience and new chapter in life I was introduce to a very unique person that will not only help me figure out what I want to pursue in life, but a smile and composition to teaching and helping. Dr. Grant one of the most unique faculty member that one can be introduced at Harper College. I have had the great opportunity to meet and be taught by Dr. Grant. FYS was one of my first classes at Harper College as a starting freshman. Being brand new into the system of complexity which is college life. Dr. Grant understood and helped us connect with peers around us. One of the biggest steps of starting in college is stepping out of the shell and expose yourself to your other classmate. One
Hello I know it is early but I was just wondering about how to go about becoming a student here next september. I am going to into my second year of Westchester Community College in Westchester. After my two years I would like to attend John Jay, what would be the steps in attending? Is their a certain grade I need to get in order to get in. Also while I was in high school I never took the SAT/ACT would that be a problem ?
I struggle to keep my eyes open. I sit, exhausted on my third cup of coffee, staring at my Anatomy and Physiology textbook unable to retain the information from the lecture earlier that day. At this moment I realize I may have taken on too much. From the forty hour work week between my two jobs, to caregiving for my ill mother, I feel as though a full college course load is the last thing I can manage. Nothing could have prepared me for this difficult semester ahead of me that left me questioning my ability to complete an Associates in Science for the Health Professions.
My objective is to finish an undergraduate degree with high academic standing. I'm currently attending southwestern Oregon community college, working toward to get my associate degree while taking language courses to become fluent in English. At the moment I am fluent in Mandarin, Chinese. My long term goal is to become a professional translator while traveling around the world, helping foreigners understand the foreign country better.
I can still feel the sting, despite this event occurring nearly three years ago, upon being told by a fellow classmate on the first day of class that he would be more successful than me because I was “just some public school kid”. At my undergraduate school, the majority of students were native Louisvillians and alumna of the local private Catholic schools. They appeared to be cultured, refined, some clearly wealthy, and I was…. Not. I was a cowboy boot wearing, “hey, how y’all doing” drawling, public school educated girl from a working class family.
My journey to St. Joseph’s College started with me trying to get into another school. After moving back to the city from Orlando earlier this year, I originally attempted to start school back in the fall of last year. Despite a failed effort to thwart the bureaucracy of the Veterans Administration.
My academic experience at Normandale Community College has been truly expanding and challenging. Learning in an environment that was rich in its diversity of culture, age, and background made me broaden my intellectual horizons. I enjoyed studying and expanding further in the resource-packed library. Because of the small class size in Normandale Community College, interacting with teachers at their office hours provided satisfaction and continued to open my mind. Waking up at 5 am every day to take a one-hour bus ride to the college was a challenge as I had several morning classes.
Since the day I first talked with Josh D’Amico, I felt glad that finally, I have found the place where I always wanted to be. I had always dreamed for a small school with an outstanding faculty and tons of opportunity to explore and learn, and finally I am happy that my dream is going to be true. I find Mount Mercy as a perfect fit for me.
On Friday, February 3rd 2017 at 8:55 a.m. I received an email from Saint Louis University “Thank you for your interest in the Communication, MA for Fall 2017. Your application has been reviewed and a decision has been posted in your applicant portal. Please visit your portal to view the decision by clicking on Manage Your Account.” I remember I waited till after my 10:30 Italian 202 class to open the portal because if I got rejected from the SLU it would give me an excuse to call back into bed and cry with a nice glass of wine. However, it was the opposite. My application stated I was “admitted on condition.”
