Do you ever remember being a kid and going to see Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny? That was my favorite time of the year, when Santa Claus came to town for me to tell him what I wanted for Christmas and have a picture taken with him. However, I was more skeptical about the Easter Bunny. To this day he still scares me a little bit, just the costume was a little bit much. I was still forced to sit on his lap and smile for the picture. My family took us every year to Pinnacle Bank in Imperial, Nebraska to go visit for these holidays. Pinnacle Bank has businesses set up throughout six states with more than 140 locations. Pinnacle Bank is a well known name around Imperial. Everyone knows where it is and all of their employees. They are so well
Most people are all grown up when they finally figure out what they want to do with their life. I was 4. I realized what I wanted to be when I attended my very first Rodeo. Even though it was so long ago I can remember that day like it was yesturday. That day got me on the path to my future.
On 1/16/17 at 0225 hours my partner, Officer Thebeau #8402, and I were working patrol assigned to unit 3A11. We responded to a radio call of “shots fired” in the area of 814 N. Garfield Ave. The comments of the call stated, a 19 year old female was shot in the hand.
In Iowa, the State Wrestling Tournament rules over all other state tournaments averaging about 16,000 spectators during the first place matches. But, it’s not the fans that make this tournament special. It’s the boys from all over our state who dream of one day being able to wrestle in Wells Fargo Arena while those 16,000 fans cheer their name.
When I was working at Target there were two mangers that I was to train and help if they needed it. The conflict was that they come in and changed everything in our stations. Which was uncomfortable due to that I had more experience and was working there longer. Nothing work well within the ream after that point.
I’ve been pursuing my education for my entire adult life. As a young and working mother I tried to fit night classes into my hectic schedule but never seemed to be able to string together enough credits to make it seem like it was worth the time. Then some years back, I began working for an employer that had tuition reimbursement so I took advantage of that - only for a minute; unfortunately the following year they took reimbursement out of their benefits plan, and around that same time the school notified me that my old college credits had expired and wouldn’t be used toward my degree. Their ‘Life Credit Portfolio’ was an option, but just barely. I decided that my time had passed and I should focus on saving money for my children’s college, and retirement.
Have you ever tried something new? Well I did one day at Kroger a few years ago. It felt funny, because no one else in my family but my dad would eat the food, and it was also a really weird food.
It has been an honor for me to participate in the event. Those 3 days have definitely been one of the best experiences I've had. It was amazing to be with such rounded scholars. Going into the camp, I was unsure what I wanted to do, but after listening to the different career paths at Goldman, I realized that GIR would be a be a division that I would like to do more research on. The Goldman Employees are some of the nicest people and smartest individuals I have met. I look forward to hopefully obtaining an internship in the summer and be around such great people. Goldman Sachs made me feel like family and it is a company where my career can grow. This summer I will be working for a landscaping company. Towards the end of July I will be traveling
“It goes upside down!” I said. My sister was telling me about a roller coaster ride in Disney World after our parents had broken the news that we were going the summer of my fourth grade year. The idea of going to a park was amazing, but the terrifying part was my slight fear of the fast roller coasters that my family enjoys. My parents looked at me, and I smiled with uncertainty. But on the contrary I started to feel a faint feeling of ambition because maybe I could overcome my fear.
To start off the trip to Rapid, we would get in the car, and drive to a Cenex to fill up on snacks, drinks, and gas. My best friend would get Root Beer and Pringles. I would get M&M’s and Cherry Sprite. We would get in the car, after we filled it up with gas, put on our favorite music, and start the second stretch of the trip.
Helping others can teach you many different things about yourself. If you ever helped anyone; you know the feeling of satisfaction that comes from helping others. This was not the case, when I brought a group of SWAP volunteers to work on Virginia Bank’s home.
What I wanted on summer vacation made me end with a heavy debt on my shoulders. The debt that I haven?t paid off yet to my dad. Buying the PC was a good idea, but I messed it up myself. Last school holiday I had the bright idea to buy a PC, PCs are strong, easy to use, and reliable. I am a guy who wants to experience all fields of gaming, when some people like calm and relaxing games. Others might like driving, sports, strategy games, or some action. For me, I try all types of games, so to do that I have to get myself a PC, and what?s cheaper than building one yourself (at least what it?s normally like).
Throughout high school, I continuously explored a wide variety of courses in an attempt to figure out what career path I may want to pursue. As senior year drew closer, the business field became more enticing. Furthermore, my aspirations were significantly impacted on the evening of September 14, 2016. I woke up that day and left for school as if it were any other day. After school, I drove to the softball field because we had a game and it just so happened to be Senior Night: the last home game. When it came time for my first at bat, I stepped up to the plate and hit a line drive between the first and second basemen, successfully making it to first base. The next player up to bat hit a double; I rounded second and sprinted for third. I clearly remember my coach kneeling on the ground to signal me to slide into third base. For some unknown reason, I hesitated and slid too late. I knew it was a bad slide, but I was focusing on whether or not I was safe. Then reality set in, I was safe, but I was not physically capable of standing up.
I’ve always asked myself,” what does it really take to make it big? To play amongst the greats, how could I do that? Me, Skylar Ross, a young man with this desire, the passion, wanting to play side by side with legends, to become someone people talk about, is what has pushed me all these years. It drove me to become a better player, to become more informed about the sport. This also influenced me to become more intertwined with school, that way I could have a better chance at getting a scholarship at a college.
So I would like to point out I do work for a few different businesses in Southern Maine, but my job at the Cross Insurance Arena is slightly different. We are under new management which is overseen by Comcast Spectator which runs multiple venues throughout the country. And in the case of Cross Insurance Arena full time employees are told that, “The Cross Insurance Arena can’t afford employee parking,” therefore there’s always been a struggle to find a parking let alone pay for it.
I ask Ray if he wanted to sign up with me and play the game because I really wanted to play and see if I was lucky enough to win a prize. We first fill out our information on a paper for a chance to win gift cards from the book store then we get a puck and play plinko. The prizes were a mug, pen or a card holder for cell phone. Both Ray and I wanted the mug. I ask Ray to go first because I want to see his strategy. He didn’t need to think or plan anything he just place the puck down and end up winning a card holder. I was shock because I thought he would win a mug because he seems like he had a lot of confident. When it was my turn I took a few second to think where I should put the puck and where it will land because I really wanted the
