Personal Narrative: Renee And Andrea

Growing up I had a lot of older siblings. However, I only lived with two. The two I lived with were my two older sisters, Renee and Andrea. We became really close despite our age differences [Andrea was 6 and a half years older than me and Renee was 13 years older than me]. Of course we argued like all siblings do but it never lasted long. When I was in between the ages of 7-9 Renee moved out. I was absolutely heartbroken. It felt like my world was going to collapse. Since then Andrea and I argued more than ever. In 2015 Andrea graduated high school and got accepted into Grand Valley State University. I was happy she was moving out because of how often we argued. One day it was one of her normal trips home from college which turned out not so normal. She told us she was dropping out of college to join the Navy! My first thought was "She won't last a week,". I never thought, I don't think anyone thought, that she would ever go through with it. I'm still surprised to this day. Andrea is my Michigan Hero. Security was kind of strict. We had to go through metals detectors, we needed our birth certificates and overall, it was just a long process. We eventually get in the room and found spots on bleachers. We had to wait for almost two hours before they came in. They were talking about the process of boot camp and a bunch of other stuff but let's be honest, I didn't really care about any of that. I just wanted to see my sister. Finally the doors opened. She was the very first one to come in. She was spinning her groups flag. I cried when I first saw her. They were there from anywhere to half an hour to an hour in a half, I lost track of time. Once we were allowed down there I sprinted down the bleachers. I was the first person out of thousands down there. I ran into my sisters arms and cried.
