Juliet, First, I wanted to apologize if I came off flippant with my answers. Unlike my sister I have very little experience dealing with court issues. Last evening I was thinking about the question "How is your relationship with your sister?". I felt the need to explain my answer. In the past years things were fine until there was a falling out with our parents. The problem with this was she would cause problems between my mom and dad. But I'm sure that you are aware of the issues this caused. When she was first left the house starting with her divorce proceedings, we all rallied around her. I found her several apartments; mom and dad bought her a GPS (which my daughter showed her how to use). Lindsey started to try to spend more time with her mom. This continued for several months, until some of her stories didn't add to be exactly the truth. This caused all of us to continue to help her but be wary. …show more content…
She told my dad that my daughter and I had put 10 pain patches on mom during the night to "speed things up", that Lindsey had just stood by and let it happen. My friend who is an administrator with hospice, came to oversee mom's care as a personal favor. Cathy accused her and her staff of killing mom to get her out of the way. Cathy immediately told my dad about several items she was taking said mom had given her when she was still coherent. When she wasn't allowed to take them, she left dad's house saying that she wouldn't be back there and we could have the funeral without her being present. She came 30 minutes
In the tragedy 'Romeo and Juliet', Shakespeare presents the inner struggles of Romeo and Juliet, the two protagonists as one of the main themes. This is clearly shown at the end of Act 3 Scene 2 when Juliet receives the news that Romeo has been banished and Tybalt has been killed. Juliet is distraught at the conflict of her loyalties. Should she express love for her family or should she express love for Romeo? By using many different language features, such as oxymorons, paradox, antithesis and dramatic irony, Shakespeare effectively displays Juliet's conflicting emotions. Later in the play, Shakespeare uses the betrayal by adults to again show the inner struggles of Romeo and Juliet.
‘Shakespeare intends the audience to see that the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet was destined to happen’
In many literary works, there are methods that authors use to make a story better. In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, dramatic irony is the driving method. Dramatic irony is something in which characters do not know something, but the reader or audience knows what the true reality is. According to some researchers, “A staple of Elizabethan and Shakespearean drama was dramatic irony” (Halio 25). Furthermore some researchers also belive that dramatic irony is very prominent in the play, “ One of the more prominent literary devices in the play is irony” (Sauer 673). Romeo and Juliet, and also their friends and families face a lot of instances of dramatic irony in the story. Dramatic irony creates suspense and adds to
I lay, staring up at the dark sky. The night is warm, and a gentle breeze whispers across the cool grass around me, caressing my bare legs. The North Star burns bright above, drawing my eye.
In Romeo and Juliet, actions are put together purposely to kill Romeo and Juliet. The moment that Romeo and Juliet meet is what leads to their death. Fate is responsible for the heartbreaking tragedy. It is fated that Romeo loves Juliet even if it is forbidden. Fate plays a tremendous role in Romeo and Juliet, it is immersed throughout the play. Fate is infused so much that the characters are even aware of it. The whole play is one huge example of how cruel fate can be.
How much do parents affect their children’s lives? In the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, parents play a prominent role. The play is about two families, the Montagues and the Capulets, who are always feuding for unknown reasons. Despite this feud, however, two people, Romeo and Juliet, from opposing households fall in love. Romeo and Juliet shortly after meeting each other end up getting married; because of the feud, they must keep their marriage hidden from their parents. Eventually, Romeo gets banished for murdering Juliet’s cousin, Tybalt, and leaves Verona. Juliet’s father also wants her to marry Paris, yet he is unaware she is already married to Romeo. To get out of marrying Paris, she fakes her own
“Ugg” I say as I stomp up the stairs after a big fight with my parents. After I enter my room and slam the door, shaking the whole house. I flop onto my bed face first and listen to my thoughts spinning in my head. “Why can't I date him, he is perfect” I sob. “ he has perfect grades, but he smokes and does other bad things, but we could get over it” I convince myself. Only a few weeks later I was walking down the hallway with my best friend Charlotte and we notice m,y x-thing. “Oh hey look theres his next victim, a soft little sophomore.” she says. “I'm so glad I didn't date him now that I noticed how big of a jerk he was” I said. I would never tell my parents this because then I would get the whole ‘I told you so’ speech and It would've been
My final will be about why Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy. Romeo and Juliet was written by william shakespeare. I personally think that Romeo and Juliet was a perfect tragic story. One because of the separation of two true loves and their journey, the misunderstanding of Romeo killing Tybalt (Juliet's cousin), and also because they both die in the end because they couldn’t be together.
What makes Romeo and Juliet so important that we still study it today? Romeo and Juliet is a renowned romance tragedy, written by william shakespeare in the 16th century, in fact it is so interesting that people, today, still study Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet is extremely effective for modern audiences considering several universal themes which are still applicable to modern today society including love, conflict and fate. Romeo and Juliet is a love story between two young people from families who loathe each other. And due to the pressures of society, families and friends, both of them kill themselves because they can’t live without each other, resulting in peace between the two feuding families.
There are many conflicts in the tragedy “Romeo and Juliet”, but there were some more important than others. The feud between the Capulets and the Montagues was likely the most important, for the play would not be a tragedy if they were not fighting. The next would be Juliet’s doubt about taking the sleeping medicine and killing herself. The third and final one I shall discuss would be the conflict between Romeo and the city of Verona after he killed Tybalt. These are the most important conflicts of the tragedy “Romeo and Juliet” and the ones I will be explaining in this paper.
Love is a central theme in Romeo and Juliet, there are many different types of love portrayed in this play, for example, there is true love and of course, love at first sight. The two star-crossed lovers show us in the play that human beings are too impulsive and ruled by their emotions, Especially with love.
