As a young man coming out of high school, like the majority of people at that age, I had a difficult time making a career decision. Knowing that I did not want to be in school for another long period of time, I decided to become an Automotive
Technician. A few years later, I decided it was not the career that I saw myself in for the long ride. I started doing research on what would work best for me and the Emergency Medical Field looks very exciting and rewarding. A few weeks later
I enrolled in an Emergency Medical Technician course at the local community college during the summer semester. A couple of days into the program, I notice that it was very challenging since everything was new to me. Knowing that my grades were on the low end,

With the help of many nurses on different departments and family members’ nurses, I decided that nursing is something that I wanted to get into. Knowing that I had only my paramedic credits for transfer, I sign up for pre requisites towards nursing. In the mean time I completed the Certified Nurse
Assistance course to get familiarized with what it meant to become a nurse’s assistance before jumping into the nurse role. While doing clinicals at different nursing homes, I realized that this is what I am supposed to do for a living. Helping people in need during a hospital rotation is a lot different than during an emergency situation in the back of an ambulance. I had more time to get to know the patient and create a trust between each other. Becoming an RN can lead to many different career paths. I would be able to continue working for Superior Ambulance on a critical transport nurse ambulance and that can become very challenging since I would be dealing with very critical patients that would need to get transport from one facility to another. I would also prefer to work between the Emergency Department and the Intensive
Choosing a major has been one of the most difficult challenges I have faced as a student. While many students select their major based upon statistics and ideals, I base my decision primary on my strong commitment and my passion. Furthermore, I have learned that a major should encompass your love, talents, and desire for success in that subject. Forensic Chemistry wasn’t my first choice. When I first came to Grambling State University my major was nursing. I wanted to be a nurse ever since I was little, my mother is a nurse so I been around that environment all my life. My plan was to graduate from Grambling State University with a Bachelor degree in nursing. Then go to a community college to get my certification in forensic science to become
I knew I wanted to be successful in life. I wanted my son to be proud of his mother. There was a strength in me I knew exsisted. I wanted to make an impact on my life and the life of others and I knew education was the key. I worked and continued to do research on healthcare careers and schools I could attend. After researching the different professions, I knew I wanted to be a Dental Assistant. I decided to move back to San Diego to pursue my new career.
I was indecisive of my future career path. My mom would tell me the classic “You should be a lawyer” or “You should be a doctor.” I would go along with her idea for a couple weeks until I jumped off the bandwagon. I wasn’t passionate about either of those fields; I was interested in both math and science and as a young girl. As I got older, I became invested in technology due to my love of gaming, but I didn’t know that people devote their lives to technology until I interned.
in the healthcare profession and a friend suggested medical coding. So I went through the door.
Before being introduced into the medical field, I had always seen myself as an engineer. Growing up I was fascinated by how everything worked. When something would break down I would be the first with a screw driver in my hand ready to take it apart. Of course being at such a young age, I would often worsen the situation than fix it, but the thrill and excitement from fixing a broken object meant the world to me. I thought becoming an engineer was my lifelong passion.
The career I have chosen is an Automotive Technician. An automotive technician is a person that is certified to work on vehicles electrically and mechanically. I chose this career because i enjoy working on vehicles and making other people's
This was the most rewarding experience, and it made me realize I wanted to help these ill ndividuals on a everyday basis. Being able to bring a smile to thier face's was not only bringing happiness, but also help them to heal their mind, body, and soul. Although I can attain my nursing degree at the community college level, I have decided to transfer to a four year institution because I want to further my education beyond an

After my Freshman year in Ag class, I realized I enjoyed welding, and I wanted to make welding my career. My Sophomore
Years later, it was a long drive and money, but I got passed the border move into the US. In this new state I was excited because I get to see new animals here and what it's like here. There was a problem, I thought I could continue as a veterinary technician, but it turns out I couldn't. I finally got a place in Indiana and moved there. I thought to myself, I can’t be a veterinary technician anymore, so what will my career be now?

I was always undecided regarding the career that I wanted to pursue. As I got older and looked at many choices in careers I realized that I wanted to have a career in the medical field. Being a nurse interests me because it requires the study of the human body along with other great opportunities that nurses have in this career. I want to become a nurse because I like being able to help those who are in need.
technologists, and engineers, so my thoughts for my own career have always been geared toward the
My calling to nursing started when my father got diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015. I watched him suffering through radiation and chemotherapy, but what got him through those hard times was the help of some great loving and caring nurses. As I became more involved in taking care of him, my passion for nursing had greatly increased. Now, for nine years, I have maintained a commitment to caring for others in the field of Nursing. Being a registered nurse (RN), I have taken care of one patient at a time, which I have been involved in the amelioration of lives, and have only been left wanting to give and do more. Pursuing a master of science in nursing (MSN) is more than just a logical or natural progression for my career. It is a life choice, one that is backed by highly refined clinical judgments and in-depth exposure to an array of set-ups, and levels of care. In this personal statement, I will deeper highlight an explanation of my career goals, the reasons for my choice of Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specialization, and lastly the reason for pursuing an advanced degree in nursing.
One of the crucial moments in my life was the decision I had to take; as to what I was going to do next in life. Having completed my Advanced Level in 2013, I realized that it was not the end of my career as a student. I needed strong academic foundation along with other soft skills to meet the challenges and survive in this commercial world as a successful individual. In view of these thoughts, I was unable to make a firm decision as to what my career direction would be. After a month or so of various discussions with my parents, friends and other learned people I was able to reason out the best choice for me.
