and I am going to be a junior this school year. I have three siblings and a pet turtle. My favorite color is blue and my favorite person is Beyoncé. My last science teacher was Mrs. Conyers and I took Chemistry. I have taken Life Science, Physical Science, Earth Science, and Biology (all honors). I'm not sure what science class I will be taking next year maybe Physics. I love listening to music, baking/cooking, spending time with familty and friends, volunteering, making arts & crafts, trying new foods, and shopping! I do not currently hold a job position but I want to get one soon. My weaknesess include not being able to learn a new topic through labs, group work, and I have no strengths. My most effiective way to prepare for a test is to not study the day before, but to take the time to study, looking through notes, watching lectures, playing kahoot & quizzez, and quizlet. …show more content…
I am taking four AP classes this school year including this class, AP Psychology, AP Language & Composition, and AP U.S. History. I disliked labs and I liked the people in my class. I am looking forward to a challenge, to get into new labs that seem exciting, and learning new material. i am most anxious about in AP Biology is the probably hard tests that will occur. I am taking AP Biology because I have to sciences all four years to get an advanced diploma and this was a highly recommended class. But, also overall it just seems really interesting, the skills I develop in the class will help me better my future, I will learn many more ideas that I never knew or forgot about. I hope to accomplish/gain a decent grade in AP
In my classroom, I would create a welcoming classroom environment. I would teach my students to accept diversity and respect differences because that is part of a learning community. I would also provide an environment in which all students can exhibit their potential to grow. My goal would be to maintain a personalized and open classroom which allows all students to learn at their own rate. I believe a stimulating environment that attends to the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical needs of all students should be provided as well. The curriculum should be varied to focus on different styles of learning and different paces. By differentiating instruction, gifted students can move through the mandatory content quickly and on to more complex
Hi, I am Joy Wang and I'm excited to have AP Bio next year! I am an incoming sophomore from the class of 2020. I hope to gain a deeper understanding of biology and develop better learning and studying habits.
During my time in this Foundation for student Achievement program.I acquired, learned many things that can help me in my future plan after high school and college. The things that I learned in this program were math skills and English skills from the teachers and some of the students.
Starting in fifth grade when I first picked up a viola, orchestra has been a fundamental part of my identity in school. My first year in high school I was in the entry level orchestra, which I greatly enjoyed despite the easier music because of the community of people in the class. At the end of my freshman year, orchestra got the news that the number of orchestra classes would be cut down to two, making an entry level class, symphonic, and an audition only higher level class, chamber. Wanting a challenge, I auditioned for chamber, but I did not get in. Now, this was not the failure that came with a grand lesson There happened to be a large number of very talented violinists who had seniority over me. There also happened to be a shortage of
Upon the completion of the HSIE unit, it became clear to me that there are a variety of teaching strategies available to use in my classrooms and beyond. As a result of this students supplement inquiry based learning to improve on learning outcomes. The pedagogy that I have gained throughout the HSIE unit has given me the perfect to opportunity to implement a high quality education for my students in the future. Geography, History, sustainability, project and placed learning, Civics and Citizenship and global education are all concepts that helped me develop project- learning and place based learning skills to integrate into my classroom. When I become a primary school teacher I want to deepen students understanding and prepare my students
I would like to be an elementary language arts and reading inclusion teacher. I am an avid believer in equality. I believe that everyone should be treated fairly no matter what the circumstances are. Growing up I was always aware of those who were different. I noticed the kids that everyone else chose to look over and I made it a goal to make them feel seen. I have seen so many teachers overlook students that were struggling and favor certain students above others. I believe that every student should be given the opportunity to succeed and that it the teachers job to play an active role in that process. Just because some students need extra help does not mean they should be swept aside. In high school I took a computer class and the girl that
In week 2/3, I learned how I learn in class or doing homework. I also learned ways to have good time management. I learned that I am a student like doing when learning in class or somewhere else, which means I like to do questions, apply trial and error, practicing what I learned from the chapter that I learned in class. I want to learn more than 1 learning style because I want to use the 2 learning in different situations when learning. I want my 2 learning styles to be doing and watching. It will be more useful when in class, so I can apply the knowledge to questions, but also understand the concepts / knowledge by watching what the professor is saying. This is can help me become a better person by being a better problem solver, help develop
Settling into the classroom went really well. I got to engage with all of the students through many activities. I was interested in reading, math and art activities. I was pretty comfortable because I have worked with younger children before and I love working with them. The only uncomfortable part was that I didn’t know them but I know this will get better over time. They are young so sometimes it’s hard to get to know them since some of them are shy; but I tried my best to start small conversations with them.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude May 9, 2015 from Brescia University with a Bachelor’s of Science, majoring in Elementary Education P-5. I am applying for the available elementary teacher positions open at Mary Carrico Catholic School. I am a new teacher and I would love to make a positive impact on students’ lives in the community, by being their teacher.
I am taking part in three other AP classes this year: Biology, Literature, and Spanish. I am slightly worried about how text-oriented they are, but I hopefully will manage well. The extracurricular activities I participate in are Key Club and Link Crew. I volunteer at my parent's work and I look forward to meeting many new people and easing their beginning at
I like your point when you talked about know our students and learn the personalities of all the students. Also,
Motivating students is a crucial element in teacher. Depending on the grade and students different strategies will be used. Having motivated learners is essential. If the learners are engaged in the material and eager to learn, educators will be greatly successful. Children love learning. They want to learn. I teach the 3rd grade; therefore my learners get bored very easily. I work in an inclusion classroom, so I have learners who are on different levels. Typically, I use a reward system for both regular ed. and ASD students. For my ASD students, they each have a sticker board. These 6 students earn a sticker by either volunteering, helping a classmate, making eye contact, and if they are able to make a choice when asked. Once he/she
Engaging in Learning: As a teacher I want to make sure my students are fully engage in whatever topics we are doing that day. I don't want to lose them, and I don't want them to get confuse. I also want to make sure they are understanding the material we are going over each day because at the end of it all they are going to have to comprehend all the materials and data.
The following paper will focus on an individual placed in a very specific teaching setting. For the purpose of the paper, the classroom will be located in an international school in Spain, therefore the language being taught will be Spanish. However, the majority of the concepts introduced are applicable to similar classroom setups in a variety of countries. As this is an international school classroom, the students hail from a multitude of different countries, meaning they do not all share a common first language. This will pose a great challenge to the teacher, whose previous experience solely consists of teaching Spanish in the United States, where almost all of her students spoke English as a first language. She is accustomed to using her students’ L1 as an anchor for teaching the L2, often code-switching to explain grammar and other key concepts. Now, however, she understands that she will have to modify her teaching method. She must now figure out a way to spend almost the entirety of her time teaching in the target language of Spanish. This will serve as the umbrella theme under which she will also address a variety of other modifications and concepts she must consider in her new classroom. All of these modifications serve to improve her ability to teach the class almost exclusively in the target language. What is to follow in this paper is the teacher’s firsthand account, written approximately a month before she is to start teaching, of how she plans to handle this
Growing up, I really didn’t know what I was good at. I could do all the basic things everyone else did; I could read, ride a bike, and add numbers, but I didn’t know what my strengths were. Now in high school, I think I have a good idea of what I’m good at. I’m excellent with children. It just makes sense, I’ve been surrounded by children my whole life. I have 9 siblings currently, although only seven of us live at home right now. When I was fourteen, my family started doing foster care. I’ve learned to sympathize, empathize, and have a ton patience for children; because each child is different. All of my children related experiences are why I want to be a kindergarten teacher; I want to be the first teacher a child meets and the one who makes
