Around 6:44 A.M of June the 5th of 2017, the 45th president of the United States, Donald J Trump, had tweeted “In any event we are EXTREME VETTING people coming into the U.S. in order to help keep our country safe. The courts are slow and political!.” So what does our president really means about “EXTREME VETTING”? In this case, extreme vetting is an intense process of performing a background check before offering a new law. By all means, the president meant to say that the Trump’s administration and himself had researched and worked really hard so that they came up with this new order to help protect the nation from DANGEROUS situations. Equally important, the president’s new order included a “bona fide” relationship with citizens of the United States. Although the administration stated that the new order is understandable, there is still a lack of understanding of “bona fide relationship.” What is a bona fide relationship? Based on research, a bona fide relationship is a family relationship. For examples, parents, including parent-in-law, spouse, child, adult son or daughter, including son-in-law or daughter-in-law, sibling, including half and stepsiblings will be defined as close tied family. However, as written in the law, grandparents and finances would not be considered close enough relative. Although the administration stated that the new order is understandable, but there are still some lack of understanding of “bona fide relationship.” As has been noted in
The newly indicted President of the United States, Donald Trump had made an executive order to create an immigrant ban to prevent immigrants from entering and returning to the United States. Shortly after signed the order there was chaos due to Trumps lack of communication; Trump had signed the order as the official's were still discussing it. To continue, when the order was set Custom border control had received orders, however, they were quite unsure of what to do, more questions continue to raise about why trump had singed this order and why he was so quick to fulfill it. Officials of the Whitehouse had defended Trump's decision for the order and his reasoning for it.
The 2016 presidential campaign, was wrought with several controversial issues, none more so than the refugee crisis. Throughout the campaign, Donald Trump’s Anti-Muslim rhetoric, appeared to go against the American ideals of protecting religious freedoms. This trend continued into his presidency, he enacted Executive Order 13769 “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States”, banning immigrants and refugees from seven predominately Muslim countries. While, the President claims these measures were taken to prevent any future terrorist attacks on the United States, many question if the Order has more to do with instilling a ban on Islam. Yet, with the possibility of terrorists entering the United States, how can we
One of the first things that Donald Trump did when he was in office was sign an executive order banning people emigrating from certain countries. The matter was put before the courts, and a week later a judge in Seattle suspended it nationwide until the administration appealed. Since the terror attack in New York, Donald Trump has said that he wants to scrap the diversity Visa program because the attacker got into the US under that program.
After the first week of Donald Trump’s presidency many changes have been occurring in the country. A continuous stream of executive orders signed by the President are causing extreme controversy. Executive Order: Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into The United States, the more moderate version of the “Muslim ban” that President Trump called for during his campaign was signed on Friday. Some people who were still in the air when Trump signed the order were detained or sent back to where they flew in from when they landed. This led to people being detained in airports sparking numerous protests at airports across the country, calling the order unconstitutional. On Saturday, a federal judge temporarily stayed the order, stopping people from being detained and deported from the country.
In the United States of America according to Bradley Fellow, Tim Kane there is 10 million undocumented aliens currently that live in the U.S that is growing 700,000 per year, creating a security threat to the country. Aliens across the country pose, perhaps not a National security threat, yet exercise the act of flout to the law that is instituted among the states. The broken Immigration system dilemma, possibly could be blame due to the poor executive actions, taking into example the Executive Order, President Obama will do on November, 20 2014. An act of unilateral, defying the approval of congress.
President Trump recently signed an executive order that restricts entry from seven Muslim majority countries into the United States. Trump’s immigration policy bans the entry of refugees into the United States for 120 days and heightens additional screening to make sure that they do not pose a threat to the security of the U.S. The order also indefinitely restricts the entrance of Syrian refugees and restricts travelers that come from seven predominantly Muslim countries including Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen entry into the United States for 90 days (Shear, Michael). This order would affect over 20,000 refugees, thousands of students nationwide, and hundreds
A government has the responsibility of protecting its citizens from foreign threats. The media has recently focused on border security between the US and Mexico due to Trump’s push for a wall. Trump supporters believe that building a wall on the border would improve border security and completely stop illegal immigration; however, this project would only serve to make citizens believe that they are safer without effectively improving border security. Trump’s wall is an act of security theatre, the act of making someone feel more secure without actually implementing effective measures to increase safety. The problem with illegal immigration is not the physical boundary between the US and Mexico; the problem is how America deals with the illegal immigrants that are already in America.
When we see outside today, you will see the different races and people. Well now some of those population might decrease, because of the new ban Donald J. Trump issued. He sighed the ban saying that citizens of North Korea, Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen are limiting entry to the U.S. Even though Iraqi citizens don’t have the same restrictions they are slowing their entry. President Trump states that this will be a great deal in for the safety of America and will help reduce the inconvenience for U.S. when applying citizenships. Later after the ban was officially decided he tweeted,"Making America Safe is my number one priority. We will not admit those into our country we cannot safely vet." When later asked homeland
After only 4 days of presiding in office, Trump sent out an executive order suspending any entry of people from seven countries: Syria, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, and Somalia. These seven countries are Muslim-majority countries that have done nothing wrong now or at the time that Trump put the executive order into motion. This is just one example that puts our president’s
On January 27, 2017, Trump passed a law banning immigrants and citizens from seven countries. The countries include Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen, nations composed of a Muslim majority. Many people believe Trump’s Muslim country ban was not sufficient in performing its rightful task of keeping terrorists out of the country. Trump’s ban was not necessary due to the problem the situation causes, such as its sudden implication, deterioration of presidential image, and overall effectiveness of the ban.
Recently president Donald Trump signed three executives orders the week of January 23 which offend the dignity and threaten the rights of immigrants and refugees both in the United States and globally. On January 25 at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Trump signed executive orders on border security and interior enforcement. On January 27, he signed an executive order at the Pentagon on refugees and visa holders from designated nations. (Robert Warren) “Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements,” contains several sections which undermine human rights, including the expanded use of detention, it limits on access to asylum, enhanced enforcement along the US-Mexico border, and the construction of a 2,000-mile border wall. The second immigration-related executive order, entitled, “Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States,” focuses on such issues as sanctuary cities and local-federal immigration enforcement cooperation, enforcement priorities, the reinstatement of the Secure Communities program and Section 287(g) agreements, and an increase in the number of ICE agents. (Robert Warren) Lastly on January 27, President Trump signed an executive order entitled, “Protecting the Nation from Terrorist Attacks by Foreign Nationals.” The order suspends the issuance of visas to nationals from Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen; shuts down the US refugee
After federal judge Robart decision, another federal Gorton a judge appointed by president George W. Bush said.” Provide a reasonable conceivable states of fact” that could maintain a rational basis for it’s own clarification. However, the content of the order then negative targeted the seven countries Muslim’s majority to ban from coming to the Unites States for 120 days without strong possible proof that these countries intends are to harm the American
One of the main topics of discussion in the news today is the issue of Immigration. This has been a major issue for the last couple of months since the chain of command has changed. One of the first ex. order was concerning immigration that have been going on table debates back and forth from seven countries that have been under investigation for certain radical activities by the Obama Administration. President Obama issued an ex. order banning travel to and from these countries, but at the same time there are a lot of people whom live in the United States that has families who resides in these particular countries and will not be able to visit them because of the ban order. The premise of this order was that by stopping/banning travel
In fact, Donald Trump has already passed two executive orders that ban entry of refugees until the United States can create a more secure vetting process. However, experts from the department of homeland security and the U.S. immigration and customs enforcement believe that the United States and Canada already have strong screening processes and intelligence agencies in both countries share information about possible threats to keep suspected terrorists and criminals out. In other words, making “vetting” more extreme is just another burden being added that makes the entire process harder for migrants and refugees. Also, the extreme vetting rhetoric might force refugees and migrants to turn to human traffickers and dangerous areas along borders to cross from one country to the other such as the cases seen at the Manitoba and Wisconsin
Families torn apart, sons, daughters, moms and dads are being deported back to their countries. Why you may ask? Trump’s new executive order on immigration. Trump suspended all refugees from entering the United States for more than 120 days. Also, block citizens of seven Muslim countries from entering the United State for 90 days. These countries are Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
