Your grandchildren are all going to die.
Now that you’re paying attention, climate change is happening and it is happening now. The Earth’s temperature is warming, sea levels are rising, and glaciers are melting. Climate change is causing extreme weather such as hurricanes, typhoons, droughts, heatwaves, and the arctic ice is rapidly disappearing. It is a threat to our species, our habitats, and our oceans. About 90% of Americans do not know what global warming is and only about 13% identified global warming correctly (Vox). People need to be more aware of what is happening because it is going to affect everyone in the world. “Many scientists long known for their caution are now saying that warming has reached dire levels, generating feedback loops that will take us perilously close to no point of return.” (Berne [Page #50]). If people continue to do nothing scientist think there will be no going back once it has fully taken effect. Global warming is causing diseases and other health related problems, air pollution, and is causing millions to flee from their homes. People need to do something about this. Humans have caused most of the past century's warming by releasing heat-trapping gases as we power our modern lives. Called greenhouse gases, their levels are higher now than in the last 650,000 years (LIVESCIENCE). The “greenhouse effect” is the warming that happens when certain gases in Earth's atmosphere trap heat. These gases let in light but keep heat from escaping,
“Scientists’ overwhelming conclusion is that climate change is happening and human activity is the primary culprit,” (“Climate Change”). The world we live in is falling apart more and more every day. Pollution; Global Warming; Climate Change; These are all problems that caused by people who have come forward in recent years, one of the biggest issues is climate change. The United States government needs to take aggressive steps to combat climate change because scientist have warned that if the climate changing progresses at its current rate, it could have disastrous consequences for life on Earth. Data shows that climate change is linked to rising sea levels, droughts, an increase in the risk of extinction of many species, and the increase in severe storms. With all the issues that are connected to climate change we are not doing enough to try to counteract the lasting effects it has on our environment.
Climate change is known as one of the greatest threats to the planet. It is not only a threat to the planet environmentally, but it is a threat socially and economically. As we all could feel, see, and know, the weather patterns globally and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere have been increasing over an extended period of time. Although it may seem like it’s not a dramatic change since it is data from over a large amount of time, it is considering the fact that the large amount of time is not that large as it should be. Climate change is nothing new to us. It’s happened many years ago in the past because a variety of reasons but as the years go on, the rate on charts are just getting higher. As much as I would like to blame this predicament on nature, humans has a fault as well. We release thousands of greenhouse gases into the air through many procedures, but there are things that we cannot entirely control. However, whoever’s fault it is to blame I believe that if we work together and think we will more likely be able to find effective solutions for this problem.
Throughout the years climate change has been a controversial issue affecting individuals worldwide; climate change has been debated by scientists including the rest of the world. Many factors can affect climate change such as biological factors and human actions. The intricate details are what go unnoticed and unmanaged, people may be greatly against this claim. However, it is underlying factors, like landfills and driving cars, that help maintain the increasing temperature of the earth thus, climate change has become a controversial topic. There have been concerns that climate change does not exist but there is reliable proof that it does even if many scientists do not agree on the existence of climate change.
Global warming. It’s a highly controversial and well-known topic brought to the attention of many for the past few years. Global warming is an issue that is currently destroying our entire planet. But because humans are selfish, global warming is something we should avoid addressing. In fact, we should consider supporting this so-called “issue”, as its benefits for mankind outweigh the damages on the entire planet. Global warming is here to help mankind in many different ways. A non-stop beneficial lifestyle comes from the increased temperatures of the world, outrageously rising water levels and an atmosphere filled with carbon dioxide.
Global climate change, something that most people in the world are not taking as seriously as they should. Many people believe that climate change is a phenomenon; a conspiracy theory to engage people into spending more money. When the world became industrialized, we lost our way on protecting our Earth, our only planet. Industrialization is why our environment is in critical condition. Advocating and government officials are necessary for a decrease of Greenhouse Gas emissions into our atmosphere. For our environment to thrive, changes need to happen and they can begin with yourself.
With climate change leading species to go extinct and causing sea levels to rise, what have our major governments done to prevent all this from happening. In 2006 Al Gore stated that "The voluminous evidence now strongly suggest that unless we act boldly and quickly to deal with the underlying causes of global warming, our world will undergo a string of terrible catastrophes"(An Inconvenient Truth). What Al Gore has said over 10 years ago has become a gruesome reality with many natural disasters affecting major countries and shutting down developing countries completely. If our governments don’t take initiative to reduce and prevent climate change, we must make the first move to do something ourselves. But do the actions of us individuals have an effect to something as big as climate change? I believe that the actions of individuals towards the prevention of climate change all have an effect to the greater cause, but the concentration and types of actions such as personal changes, taking alternative transportation, and overall education and awareness of the climate change determine the strength of the effect to it.
Many people see the flaws in our current world and how it is hurting us. However, people do not like change and think it is impossible for us to change.“But for those of us born and raised inside this system, though we may sell see the dead-end flaw of its central logic, it can remain intensely difficult to see a way out." (Klein, pg 178) Klein explains to us that all we have to do is change. Although, most of us realize there needs to be change, we do not actually put any of it into action. In order to fight climate change we must start putting our thoughts into actions and stop being afraid of change.
One of the most controversial and hot buzzer topics of today would be that of global warming. Although many believe global warming is real to some extent, it is a debated topic because just as many people believe that it is a fabricated government sham. Despite differing public opinion, "Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are very likely due to human activities, and most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position." (NASA) Considering this, global climate is very much a real occurrence due human presence on this earth, which is made evident through the increase in extreme weather patterns, the rise in carbon dioxide emissions
What would our world, the place we call home be like if we were to just keep living our lives as if global warming was not an issue? Would our coastlines or beaches be underwater? What about the farmland that we depend on for food? The purpose of this paper is persuade you, the reader that we as individuals can help save the planet from the negative effects of global warming and provide a better future for our children.
“Most of the observed warming that we have seen (verb) in the last 50 years is likely to be due to human activity, due to greenhouse gases,” claims Dr. David Karoly (noun), an expert in climate change. Some people believe that global (adjective) warming is just a naturally occurring thing on (preposition) Earth. However, humans are causing global warming because they (pronoun) are putting too much carbon dioxide in the air, the temperatures are increasing more rapidly than normal, and (conjunctions) the ice caps are melting at an alarming rate. Humans are the main cause of global warming.
Global Warming will continue to be a monstrous problem to be dealt with, when thinking of the future what needs to be considered is how long can the Earth keep sustaining life with little to no change. Change cannot happen overnight but, with nations working together to fix a common goal it is possible to put in motion a considerable change that will benefit the generations to come. Global warming cannot keep being put off, the risks are to great to ignore anymore, it is everyone’s problem therefore, it takes everyone to make the situation okay. Scientists need to keep raising awareness to get people to jump into action, the quicker the better. Politicians like Al Gore need to be more involved in the truth and facts surrounding climate change
I am from the time of 2016 and we are experiencing climate change big time. The American Association for the Advancement of science says, “The scientific evidence is clear: global climate change caused by human activities if occurring now, and it is a threat to society.” Also, one of the U.S. government agencies named U.S. Global Change Research Program said that, “The global warming of the past 50 years is due primarily to human- induced increases in heat- trapping gases. Human ‘fingerprints’ also have identified in many other aspects of the climate system, including changes in ocean heat content, precipitation, atmospheric moisture, and Arctic sea
The Topic I decide for my persuasive essay is Global Warming & Environmental Changes. This Topic is very important for everyone to know about it and try to do something to help on our environment. As should be obvious the Global Warming is a moderate addition in the general temperature of the world's air generally credited to the “Greenhouse” and is an amazing point to discuss; accordingly, I truly need to seek after the reader, so they can see the emergency that is happening in our world. We all can make the difference and start recycling, talk in our jobs to see if they have an environmental team and get involved; therefore, I believe that this Thesis will help me to develop whatever remains of my paper, in light of the fact that will demonstrate
Global Warming is becoming a very important matter now that we recognize it as a threat and the temperature is still rising. Global warming has affected our ecosystems and put the world in a state of worry. Global Warming is the result of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane and the overuse of these gases. Global warming also can’t be eliminated because these gases will continue to lurk around in the earth’s atmosphere. Global warming is also a key role in ocean water levels rising due to the glaciers melting.
It’s the favorite topic of politicians and news reporters: global warming. There are people who believe it’s true and others that believe it’s hype. But every day there is another fact that makes you think about the impact it may have on your life, like this month when NASA scientists reported that June of 2017 was the fourth warmest June in 137 years of record keeping. We forget that the same issues we face have more risks to wildlife. It’s becoming more well known that global warming is altering our wildlife and we must confront it before the effects are irreversible.
