It’s common to think that hard work is the key that will help people move up in the world, and that is true for the most part. However what is one supposed to do when there’s a roadblock that is difficult to overcome? There are factors that may all together or by one at a time cause someone to not achieve that pay that wish. Due to education and wealth, discrimination, worker abilities and monopoly power, the opportunities of equal pay isn’t always obtainable to workers.
First factor of income quality, not every citizen has the best education they can get for that high paying job, and not many has the funds to get that job they really desire. In our world, not everything can be as fair for those who strive for success. Consider this, many people start at working minimum wage which is about nine dollar an hour. For one waitress addressed in a PBS news article by Paul Solman, that one waitress only earned $2.13 an hour before taxes. It is stated by many who are struggling with minimum wage that it is not enough to live on. As the cost of living increases, the minimum wage becomes insufficient in covering bills and cost. As a result of this situation, there are inspiring students who are unable to go further with their education and move up in life. Being stuck near the poverty line creates a situation where as much as those workers desire to progress in their career, insufficient funds and the lack of education keeps them from doing so as many higher paying jobs require
Assigning homework to student athletes can harm their performance in school and in their sport. One of my reasons why homework should not be assigned, is that the students don’t have the extra time to complete the homework. Another reason why homework should not be assigned includes, the students need to get enough sleep for school the next day. My final reason, if homework is assigned it should not be too much and it should not take longer than a half an hour to complete. In conclusion, homework should not be assigned to student athletes on game day.

The cost of college tuition is continually on the rise and has placed many burdens on high school students as well as their families. Some of the burdens that are placed are a result of parents putting pressure on their children to earn scholarships. Some of the burden is a result of students putting pressure on themselves to earn scholarships. Then, there is the burden of high college debt once the student graduates. Is this pressure really helping our students or is it hurting them? The bottom line is college tuition is skyrocketing out of control and something must be done before it destroys our families and our children.
The last time I saw Charlie outside prison walls we were on the run. Charlie was on the run, not I, I just went along for the ride because he was my husband. Charlie was on parole, but he loved to drink his booze. In our state it's a violation to drink while on parole.
Many people in our society have been cast away and looked down upon because they are different from us. Others convey these messages including Harper Lee , in To Kill a Mockingbird , and "What , of this Goldfish , Would You Wish ? ",by Etgar Keret. We can accept others in many ways including ending discrimination , disregards people past action or choice , and being able to see stuff from others people's point of view. Humans need to always accept those who are different for the greater good of our society .
Michael Jordan once stated, “Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb over it, go through it, or walk around it.” This inspirational quote motivated many to overcome adversity when challenged by it. The texts, Speak by Laurie Anderson, “Third and Final Continent” by Lahiri Lahiri, and “The Art of Resilience” by Hara Marano, all have themes similar to Jordan’s quotation. All three articles support this through symbolism, foreshadowing, and character interactions. A common theme that one must stay resilient in order to overcome challenges while also staying level-headed during the positive and negatives is shown in Speak, “The Third and Final Continent,” and “The Art of Resilience.”
People do not have the time to keep up with what you are doing. Quite honestly, people have difficulty keeping up with themselves much less anyone else. In fact, if you are not in their face on a constant basis, you will be largely forgotten. You complete your work with no problems. Everything gets done, and there are no problems. For this, you need to make sure that you are on their radar.
One of the challenges American workforces that facing today is income inequality. The fact of income inequality is something we become increasingly aware of here in the 21st century in the United States. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, some of the perceived factors that may affect income inequality challenges are globalization, technology, race, gender and age discrimination, imbalance between population and job creations, and education that they received. These factors, drawing out the main points, and decide which factors are the most critical when it comes to determining income, or promotions of the American workforces. In a world of many political, social and moral issues, I believe that people should back the president in his attempts to secure our border. Without protection of our borders we are open to terrorist attacks. I completely disagree with Henry David Thoreau’s motto that “that government is best which governs least”(Thoreau 369). If Trump was not allowed to try to keep our country safe by protecting our borders, our nation could easily be attack and leaving people to feel unsafe. While I believe that most muslims are not terrorist, I think that it is necessary to have travel bans for some countries in order to keep the American people safe.
Women have worked vigorously over the last century to achieve equality in many different ways. From when it all began, during The Suffrage Movement, women have accomplished many of their goals and as a result have become closer to equality with their male equivalents. But, the gap that women have been working endlessly to close still exists today and although not as wide as before, the gap still exists. There are several ways women fall short of equality and one of the most profound issues is the affair of pay equity. “Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics,” announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. “What is your topic Cindy?” As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. “Waffles are better than pancakes.” I figured that a waffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. “Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!” I survived to live yet another day.
