“PLATOON… DISMISSED!” said the platoon sergeant. Without skipping a heart beat a platoon of 45 marines responded “DISMISSED, I SIR!” They all took one step back, they smartly raised their right arms with elbows at a 45 degree bend, their fingers joined and aligned to the tip of their cover rendering a salute. The platoon sergeant saluted the platoon back and returned his arm back to his side. In unison the platoon about faced and let out a thunderous “00H RAH!” It is payday Friday, two days of liberty waits with no signs of the typical angry Staff Sergeant or at least until Monday. There is no greater feeling of proudly serving this country, but getting paid in the process is definitely a plus. Being a single marine stationed in Beaufort, …show more content…
Second, there are married military members who choose not to bring their families to live with them. In these circumstances they can move off base into a small apartment or they can reside in the barracks. But residing in the barracks requires them to pay a fee to live in those rooms. If all the singles start receiving BAH they too should be liable to pay for their own rooms. This will add revenue that in return can be used to beautify the surrounding areas of the barracks or can be used to help build the new floor plan for the future learning media center. The pay difference isn’t the only problem that exists in the branches of the armed forces. In recent investigations contract marriages are increasing in the service. Contract marriages are fraud and chargeable under federal law. As per the current order on BAH, in order to receive the BAH one has to be me married. If one is married, in love, and truly with their significant other then there is nothing to worry about, but if someone gets married for the sole purpose of getting extra cash now this becomes a problem. A contract marriage is a scheme to gain monetary gains from the United States government. On May 5, 2010, 17 people were indicted on charges which were a broad conspiracy scheme to recruit U.S. Navy personnel to engage in fraudulent marriages to Russian foreign nationals (Wavy-News). -Some may disagree with me because banning larger drinks will just make people buy more smaller sized drinks allowing them to take in more sugar and calories.
1. For my television commercial I used the popular Sham wow infomercial. According to the site the Sham Wow is “a washcloth, which will dry, and polish any surface. They are like a towel, chamois, and sponge all in one--except they're extremely absorbent and can be used over and over.” However, a segment on ABC’s Good Morning America gives Sham Wow a “C” and says it’s a normal towel so why have so many Americans fallen for the gimmick?
Attending community college before completing your bachelor’s degree at a four-year institution can save you a sizable chunk of change. Tuition and fees at public community colleges average less than half of those at public four-year colleges and about one-tenth of those at private four-year colleges, according to the American Association of Community Colleges. “I think my student loan was at least half of what I would have paid otherwise,” O’Brien says.
Instead of the Beck and Charles telling a story of a significant person to make a point the Authors discussed the original argument for the United States Constitution. The argument was originally written by the federalists in the late 18th century. These historical documents are commonly referred to as the federalist papers. Beck and Charles go over seven different topics and arguments discussed in the federalist papers.
Many companies allow for a trial period to see if the user enjoys the product or not. Throughout this trial period we could survey the customers and employees to see if the GPS really made a difference or not. This task may take longer than estimated due to trial and error. It might take trying a couple different companies to find the one that would be easiest to implement and maintain.
“Everyone knows the dangers of being in the military. Many military members put their lives on the line every day, which makes them some of the most underpaid people in America. But there are also other considerations, such as working with hazardous materials and in dangerous situations, being on call 24-7/365, and dealing with long term deployments and family separation”(Guina). I will write about why Military members are not getting paid enough, but not all I will be focusing on military members who are single with no dependents and are part of deployable units and I will be comparing them to their civilian counterparts who are in college.
Sexual thoughts pop in and out of most people’s mind, but especially teenagers, and there’s nothing they can do about it. It is normal for teenage boys and girls to experience this, more than ever when they are hitting puberty. The hormones in the body begin to act up and teenagers want to experience other things on their own. Males begin to grow pubic and facial hairs, and their voice starts to deepen, while girls’ breasts begin to develop and their body begins to take shape. After hitting puberty, teenagers are now at the point where they want to experience things. ‚Don’t go out there and get pregnant‛ a mother
Kill them; kill them all sounds harsh doesn’t it. But if you think about it, which are the way most murders, rapist, and serial killers fell about us. So why not return the favors kill them, kill them all. Like I said this is how they feel about us (criminals). You hear about it in the daily news reasons behind the crimes that criminals comment. They say it’s because of their childhood or they were just born that way (evil). And we as society accept that reasoning and say, well we need to help these criminals.

Many people would likely disagree that service members should be better compensated. Some have voiced the concern because it is a volunteer military that the benefits of free medical and dental benefits, tuition assistance programs, free travel and free meals and housing for service members is all the benefit necessary for serving. Military medical personnel are among the best in their fields. With ever major medical specialty available military service members have access to some of the most comparable health care facilities in the country including the Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD and the much-acclaimed Walter Reed Army Medical Center located in Silver Spring, MD. Service members have the opportunity to travel for free to places many people dream of ever being able to see. The GI Bill provides a financial support for service members to achieve the post secondary educations and while serving on active duty personnel can take college courses at little or no cost to them. In short many of today's private-sector companies can hardly compare what the offer the employees what the government offers those serving.

to account and everyone knows how irritating it is. Fortunately, the military provides a housing allowance for those who choose to live off-base, and pays for the house and utilities for those who choose to live
Hi Amanda, Great post this week and I like your approach to the problem from stakeholder interest. I agree that company’s reputation should top priority with a potential of going bankrupt if people found out that an employee was fired because company wanted to push high carcinogen treatment to children and elderly. I can relate to the price gouging of epi-pen past few years as I have a daughter that is severely allergic to peanuts and required to carry an epi-pen at all times. Last year I purchase the twin pack for $900 (5 years ago I paid ~$150) and I remember calling the company if there were other options available. I thought they were joking when they offered me $50 off coupon, needless to say I have been paying high cost for epi pen.
Our modern world is unlike the worlds of 17th or 18th centuries. It has been continually developed and went to the point where most of the people have a choice of freedom. In our modern world, people can choose what to do, where to go, and where to dwell. A modern man’s goal isn’t easily accessible. He wants to have a satisfactory life and chooses to go to and to live in a place where he can achieve his goal. However, changing place isn’t as easy as changing old clothes. It involves more than just moving from one place to another place. It expects some crucial changes in our bodies and brains. Because “everybody should wear the hat of the host country (Memory),” this movement challenges our way of thinking and, at the same time it challenges our former selves which are so intimate, immaculate, and splendid to us. In this position, we have to become “a bigamist of languages (Dorfman 3);” therefore, I agree with Dorfman and I believe that this dual
The aggregate total of US military personnel across all branches, including reserve troops, is roughly 2.36 million. Housing these men and women of the armed services is a priority for our nation. Most new recruits live on-base during basic training, and non-married members continue to live on-base in dormitory-type accommodations until they reach a certain rank – some times called pay grade – or other eligibility status that allows them to move into private quarters. Private quarters may be on-base, or off-base within a reasonable commute. Property managers interested in attracting military service members to their communities may want to familiarize themselves with housing allowance benefits.
