All signs pointed to Randy Kraft living a normal lifestyle before his life turned into a serial murdering spree. Although, looking back at his young adult years, it is easy to gather intellect on what could have triggered Kraft’s extreme change in lifestyle choices. It was always thought that Randy Kraft is extremely intelligent, especially because he has an IQ of 129. After he graduated high school, he enrolled in Claremont College and joined the Reserve Officer Training Corps. His friends and family knew that he strongly supported the conservative party. Kraft was even in favor of the Vietnam War, even helping 1964 Presidential Candidate Barry Goldwater in the election. It was unknown why, but in 1965, it is believed that his political views …show more content…
At this point, it is thought that Kraft had become more open to others about his homosexuality, even by spending a vast amount of his time in gay bars throughout the region. During the next presidential election, Kraft supported the Democratic candidate, Robert F. Kennedy. After the assignation, his family said that he was devastated about the outcome of the election. After completing the remainder of his college classes he was based on the Edwards Air Force base. Although the relocation did not last long. He was discharged shortly after arriving for “medical” grounds in 1969, when he came out as homosexual. It was after his discharge that he became a full time bartender. Later on, after Kraft’s bartending days, he got employment as a computer programmer at a local business. He continued with this job when he began with his killings, but also started hanging around at a local marine …show more content…
During these years, William Bonin and Patrick Kearney- the other two members of the “Highway Killers”- were also on a murder spree and dumping their victim’s bodies on the sides of busy highways in southern California. Bonin and Kearney were caught and convicted before the police had suspected there was another killer, let alone Kraft. Kraft was the last of the “Highway Killers” to be caught. Kraft’s victims were all male and who all suffered some kind of sexual abuse along with torture before they were all strangled to death. Kraft’s first victim is believed to be Wayne Joseph Duquette whose body was found in 1971, even though he was never convicted of Duquette’s
Crime occurs every day, all over the world. Most crime is unreported or is unknown to the vast majority of the populations. Over time, crime has grown to become a normal part of society and typically people are not surprised to hear that a crime has been committed. Most crimes are dealt with and forgotten, however a few crimes grab the media’s attention and are highly publicized, ultimately giving the criminal their 15 minutes of infamy. Ted Bundy was one of these criminals. Bundy was a law student in Utah and during the 1970’s, he assaulted, raped and murdered at least 30 known women with some criminologists suspecting as high as nearly 100 victims. The tactics he used along with the extent of his killings is how Bundy acquired his long lasting infamy and notoriety as one of America’s top 10 most wanted during his time. Our true focus here is explaining why these murders occurred; truly understanding the motivation behind Bundy’s actions and finding the roots of causation which could lead a person to commit such serious crimes.
This research paper is based on the actions of the serial killer named Randy Kraft. This paper will contain three separate theories that will be used to describe and possibly answer reasons why he did what he did. The three theories that will be included are rational choice and routine activities from the Choice Theory, the social strain theory from the Social Structure Theory and the social control theories from the Social Process Theory.
One of the most infamous serial killers and sex offenders in America and around the world is Jeffrey Dahmer. Jeffrey Dahmer is widely known for his killing, dismemberment, necrophilia and cannibalism. He killed seventeen males between the ages of 14 and 33. He was so well known the was even mentioned in a Katy Perry song. Fortunately his brutally gruesome killings were put to an end in 1994 when he was convicted and sent to prison.
From Ted Bundy to BTK to the “Zodiac Killer”, serial killers have been around the United States for a long time, but none is better than Richard Chase, or better known as the “Vampire of Sacramento”, to investigate the reasons behind serial killers. Born on May 23, 1950, Chase was raised in a very strict house and was constantly abused by his parents. As a
In December1989, the body of Richard Mallory would be found near Daytona Beach(Biography.com, 2010). He had been shot three times. Six months later, another man was found sot six times with the same gun. Before this body could be identified, a third victim was found. By November 1990, four more men

Out of all the Infamous killers in the U.S the two well-known killers that I will be researching are Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy. These two murderers share many similarities such as their backgrounds, Crimes, and Motives. Both Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy are serial killers who’ve killed over a dozen people each. They’ve committed crimes including rape, murder, and kidnapping. In this research paper I will be comparing and contrasting the two serial killers.
In January 1973 his unit was sent back to Fort Knox, KY and with the move, his military career seem to disappear. Also with the move, he had a spiritual rebirth, and began attending services at Beth Haven Baptist Church in Louisville and soon changed from a Jew to a Christian.
America his life was more stable and constructive. In what ways do Byrd’s vocational, intellectual, and sexual activities support this argument?
Before he would kill in Illinois he would go back to the Palm Springs area and kill again. In spring of 1995 he met Denise Maney a prostitute from the area. He did his usual thing he drove her out to the desert where they had sex, but then he did something he had only done with Jennifer Asbenson, he began to rape her. This time his victim wasn’t able to get away he made her walk into the desert after he restrained her. When they got a good distance into the desert he put the gun into her mouth and shot killing Maney instantly. Urdiales would go back to Illinois and kill someone who was a little closer to him than the previous victims. In April of 1996 Laura Uylaki who had gone on a couple of dates with Urdiales was with Urdiales near Wolf Lake. An argument had broken out between the two and when Urdiales showed his gun to Uylaki, she made an attempt to get out of the truck and get away but Urdiales ran after her fired his weapon and killed Uylaki. Too dispose of the body Urdiales, dumped her into the lake. His next victim would be dumped a little closer to Pontiac. On July 13, 1996, Urdiales met Cassandra Corum, a prostitute from the Hammond Indiana area. They were in Urdiales truck when an argument occurred, he then handcuffed her, taped her feet, taped her mouth shut, and took her clothes off. He began driving south on Interstate 55, after driving for a
This research paper will explore the life of a serial killer named Ted Bundy. We will look at the cause and effects of him becoming a serial killer. We will also discuss the different criminology theories behind Ted Bundy’s actions. Based on what was discovered in the research no one theory can explain the action of Ted Bundy as a serial killer. The remainder of the paper is laid out as follows: biography of Ted Bundy, introduction, discussion of crimes and theories, and the conclusion.
Serial killers have fascinated the imaginations of people for a long time. One of the most notorious serial killers is Jeffrey Dahmer whose gruesome murders shocked the nation. Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer also known as Milwaukee monster was a notorious American serial killer and sexual offender in the 1980s and early 1990s. Between 1978 and 1991 Dahmer had murdered 17 men. His victims were usually raped, tortured, dismembered, and cannibalism was also involved. Jeffrey was a troubled child psychologically and his social skills had a lot to be desired. All the way through his childhood he was ignored and had queer fantasies of cadavers. In his adulthood this psychosocial status quo didn 't change and was in fact aggravated.
There are many theories about what shapes an individual’s personality and when following these approaches, sense can be made of a certain person’s behavior. Charles Manson is a well-known serial killer whose personality is reflective of two specific personality theorists’ views. Sigmund Freud, whose psychosexual stages of development could explain some of the traits held by Manson. Karen Horney was another theorist whose views on childhood love and nurturing, or lack of it, could explain Charles Manson’s personality. Gathered information on
In this case study I have focused on Ted Bundy’s case, the most dangerous serial killer of his time at U.S.A. His case is solved through Forensic Odentology and is very famous case. His victims are mostly young and adult females. At the beginning of late 1970s he was considered as highly intelligent but cruel man that involve in murdering of females. He kill approximately 35 females but the exact number of his victims are not exactly known. Bite mark case was the only evidence that shows that Bundy is involved in all these 35 plus murders.
