I am a softmore and i have read mice of men. I personaly think its an awsome book and i think other students should read it also. I think george should not of shot lennie. Why becuase i think they could of got away and gone some were else. I know what lennie did was wrong but i believed he could of been punished another way. I think they should of kept running to another place and get away. What lennie did was wrong. I know what george did was probaly a good thing. But i believe lennie didnt have to go how he did. I believe they could of got lennie some help. I understand that george was trying to save lennie the pain from curlly but george in the long run did the same thing that lennie did. George kinda did do a good thing becuase if
George is a really good man so he was looking out for his friend and trying to keep him from getting hurt even more. So he shouldn’t be punished. I believe that Lennie shouldn’t of done that in the first place. But George was just making sure he didn’t suffer any more than he was. Because if he would of let him live he would gotten tortured to death by slim.
Some people think that George did not do the right thing by killing Lennie because there were alternative options for shooting him. But, if George and Lennie decided to run away, they would be running their whole life, and if George decided to turn Lennie in, he
Lennie needed to be punished, but at the same time it needed to fit the crime; no torture or humiliation that he would not understand that George with Lennie , I believe George should of killed
After going through all the evidence, I still believe very strongly that George was justified in killing Lennie. In anyway someone tries to spin it there's always a counter that justifies George still did the right thing. In our lifetime where there are many cruel people we’re obligated to do the right thing no matter the consequence, even if it's hard to do, it's best for
In Of Mice and Men, I believe George's actions are justified at the end. If George hadn't shot Lennie then he would have died a more gruesome death. Curly and Carlson would have killed Lennie on sight and wouldn't have let him give an explanation as to why he broke Curley's wife's neck. Lennie isn't capable of understanding his own strength. First, it all started with something simple, mice.
First and foremost, George has to constantly continue to repeat rules to Lennie because Lennie is undisciplined. Like, after Slim gives Lennie a puppy Lennie brings the puppy into the bunkhouse with him even though George told him he was not supposed to. For example, after Lennie comes into the bunkhouse John Steinbeck writes that George " reached down and picked up the tiny puppy from where Lennie had been concealing it against his stomach." (Steinbeck) In this quote it shows that Lennie disobeyed the rules that George has set with him so he could get the puppy this means that Lennie is undisciplined because he broke the rules even though he knew that there were specific rules that were not supposed to be broken. consequently, George has to repeat himself many times and treat Lennie like a child by fixing the things that Lennie messes up and disobeyes the rules. So George was justified in his decision to kill
So George, has to choose what he's going to do with Lennie, kill him or let him live. George did do the right thing by killing Lennie because, Lennie held George down, Lennie will continue to get in trouble, and other people are after Lennie. Others may claim that, George could’ve just kept a better eye on Lennie. However, George shouldn't have to babysit Lennie every second of the day. He has other things to do, he has to work.
George made the right decision killing Lennie because the people that were looking for him and were going to slowly kill him and inflict as much pain as they possibly could. They were upset that he killed curley's wife so they were out to get him. George would of been doing him justice by just putting him out right then and there. He did the right thing because he just put him out without Lennie even knowing he was going to die. With George going ahead and killing him showed that he didn't want the guys hunting Lennie to hurt him and torture him. There was Really nothing he could have done to help Lennie so by just by killing he right there saved him a lot of pain he would of gone through if he had not done what he had
On the other hand George should not have killed Lennie. George could have run away with Lennie and hidden somewhere like before in Weed when Lennie touched the woman’s red dress. Or he could have Lennie play
I believe that Lennie was not wrong. George was doing the right thing by killing him. George was ending Lennie's suffering. I do not believe this was "mean" at all. George did the right thing by talking to Lennie all about how they are going to go to a cat house and have pigs and rabbits and alfalfa everywhere.
I believe that George should have killed Lennie rather than, the ranch hands. I think this because that Ranch hands would have hurt Lennie but they were still going to kill him. George killed Lennie quick and painlessly, if it were the ranch hands Lennie would have suffered, with George he did not even know he was going to die. Know George could have just let Lennie run and hope that no one finds him, but George even said himself “ Lennie you can’t do anything without me”, or something like that. If George would have let Lennie run it is very likely that he would either, die from starvation, or get in trouble and just keep getting in trouble, or he kills another person again on accident and gets killed from that. Either way Lennie is screwed
When George killed Lennie, he was not justified because killing someone is never right to do. Reasons for George killing Lennie being unjustified can be found in the first couple chapters giving Lennie the hope that George does care for him and giving Lennie specific instructions. In chapter one, George tells Lennie that “[his] Aunt Clara wouldn’t like [him] running by [himself] even is
The unique traveling duo of George and Lennie helps add many layers to both characters. George takes care of Lennie because of a promise he made long ago. Lennie would most likely not make it in the world without George. With this being said, was George taking care of Lennie when he decided to put him down? I believe that George made the right decision in killing Lennie because Lennie would have suffered a worse death if Curley reached him, Lennie would almost certainly get into more trouble down the road, and Lennie would almost certainly be separated from George given the circumstances.
It has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt at this point, Lennie's innocence is not very accepted with the world because of his size, age, etc. He can’t really learn to change his ways due to his disabilities. Lennie can’t even understand why the bad things he has done are bad. Also, the fate he would meet at Curley's mutilated hands is enough to convince George that his only real option is to make Lennie's death as quick and painless as possible. Lennie would have died at the hands of Curly anyways, which would have been a much more painful and dehumanizing death for Lennie. He couldn't be taken to a mental hospital and in the depression, these were basically non-existent and spending a life in jail would be even more torture for a mentally ill person than death itself. George did what was right because he prevented Lennie from doing anything this terrible again, he stopped Lennie from a more painful death, and he really didn't have any other responsible
George killing Lennie is very immoral because Lennie does not know any better. Lennie is not killing people and animals on purpose he just underestimates his strength and does not realize that he is doing wrong. Lennie is innocent and does not deserve
