Yes, the beatitudes are very paradoxical. Who would really want persecution. But Dawns on you, to be persecuted for doing the right thing, for having integrity for what you believe in, that's why you would want it. This world is very corrupted so, persecution for doing the opposite of its broken ways should be expected. Just yesterday cops were called on me for evangelizing. I've suffered plenty in my pre christ following life, but it was all in vain because it was for doing bad. When times are good we really don't think about our choices, our life. But when we suffer, we grow. It tests us to see if we really want this life. We realize things about ourselves. Are you brave or are you brave when things are easy. It's like a relationship when
A time I had to overcome adversity in my life was when I became injured during the middle of cheer tryouts. At the time I was very passionate about competitive cheer, and my goal was to make the junior five team. When I got to tryouts everyone was tumbling, stunting and doing the dance routine. My adrenaline was pumping as I went to warm up my tumbling and throw a roundoff, back handspring, layout. I was determined to accomplish this for tryouts and impress my coach, but I was still very nervous. As I was running into the roundoff back handspring, I knew something was bound to go wrong. The next thing I knew I was in the middle of the air and suddenly landed on my knees, with my ankle twisted under me. My face got bright
When one first looks at the beatitudes, one might think that they are a set of blessings that apply only to a certain group of people and that they have no influence on the ‘common folk’ who struggle to barely fulfill the 10 commandments. But if one reduces it to that, they miss out on the true purpose of the beatitudes and lose its hidden value.
Persecution comes with believing in something or just by being of a certain race. A person or group of people will always be persecuted for what they believe in in one way or another, and this is something not a
There is always a silver lining. Every thing that has happened has mad made me stronger to God, god blessed me when he gave me Danny. He saved me on several accounts. When that boy pooped an acid in my eye it was Danny who got me to the bathroom and rinsed my eye. He saved me from having my vision be impaired for life. God gave me the strength to fight back when those girls trapped me in the bathroom. He gave me the ability to think of throwing my stuff towards them so they would leave.
As I look ahead to my high school years, I am encouraged by what I have learned at Sacred Heart School, about God’s mercy. Psalms 103:8 reminds us that, “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.” So, I know I can depend on God’s mercy to help me deal with challenges and meet my goals. With God’s love, I can also be a leader and share God’s mercy with others.
A spiritual journal is an honest record of my spiritual journey. This is my place to record my prayers and hopes, struggles and hurts, thoughts and questions about my personal and spiritual life. This is where I document how God is speaking in my life. A journal is a tool that can help me go back and recall the times I wandered, the things I've learned and places where I grew up as a Christian.
Suffering can teach so many lessons. While the lessons may be painful to experience, they're invaluable and can stick with a person for a lifetime. If you're in a period of suffering, understand that you can learn more about yourself and how to become a better human being. You'll also learn more about the traits listed below.
I send this post for everyone, when I looking all eight “Beatitudes” giving by Jesus are powerful, give us strength to follow God no matter what will happen to us as Christian. Jesus try to teach us, life of a good follower not depend on what people think or say about you, but know who you are and who you believe in never give up you will receive your reward in the next life.
Picture yourself living in the roman empire during the year 100 A.D. In the bustling markets, a man is delivering a speech to the crowd standing before him. The speech, the sermon on the mount was originally gave by jesus about 27 years ago and states that god has compassion for the less fortunate. Among those watching are two very different people. Ron, a slave stands with his master michael , as the message is being given. I believe that michael would would not like the beatitudes because he is a rich man. He was also a soldier for the military instead of a peacekeeper he wanted war. Ron would love the beatitudes because because he is a poor slave. Also he doesn't get much food and is often beaten.
The Beatitudes in the Sermon on the mount are the teachings of God that he uses Jesus to portray to his followers. They are, for all intensive purposes, a list of guidelines and examples on how a person should live their life if they want to enter into the Kingdom of heaven. Jesus sits upon the mountain and explains each beatitudes, as God commanded him to, for the purpose that his words would spread through the people and promote the idea of living your life following the word of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of right; theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
The importance of the Beatitudes is lost not only in the Catholic Church but in society today. They possess an extreme importance in today’s world and should not be forgotten. The most important Beatitude according to Jesus would be “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” This beatitude is essential because if there were no individuals who aim to have world peace, the whole world would be debased. People who desire peace are special in the eyes of Jesus Christ. He wants people to do what is right though peace is constantly obstructed by wars and constant destruction. Jesus elaborates on the price of peace in the Sermon on the Mount. He says that when a person may strike you on the right cheek, you should offer
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. This is the first Beatitude. It tells us that we should accept people for who they are and not the material things they have. You should not treat a person who lives in a nice house and drives a nice car any different then someone who lives in a less desirable house and drives an old car. You should treat everyone how you would like to be treated. Just because someone can not afford some of the things as you might be able to does not mean that they are a bad person. We should accept everyone into our community.
It has been said that life can never be carried out and truly lived to its fullest unless there has been some sort of suffering and pain. Mistakes are to be learned from, and a hard past can only result in a stronger present. Though many might find themselves alone in their misery the truth is they are not, everyone has struggles. We all have our ups and downs, but it is how we react to them that truly matters. Life is life and no matter what, giving up on lifelong dreams and aspirations because of a few bumps in the road should never be an option.
In life everyone will face some form of hardship. Some people may not go through as many hardships as some others might but we all still have our own personal problems. In my life I have not faced many hardships like some others have which I am very grateful for such things not happening to me. But even though I haven't gone through many hardships I have still had my own fair share of personal hardships. One such hardship I have gone through twice is overcoming the death of a loved one.
