Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister and social activist, who led the Civil Rights Movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his death by assassination in 1968.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was not the only Civil Rights’ activist. Though, if he had not been assassinated, the Civil Rights Movement would have taken longer to pass.

Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15 , 1929 and died on April 4, 1968. He was born Michael Luther King Jr. but decided to change his name to Martin. Both Martin Luther’s grandfather and father were pastors of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. Martin Luther carried on the tradition and served as pastor from 1960-1968 (Nobel Prize, 1). Imagine you were brutally beaten, or even killed because of your race and your family was threatened due to their religion. Imagine you lived in a place, where everywhere you went was segregated with signs that say “Whites only” and “Blacks only”. This is what life was like for Martin Luther King Jr. during the 1960’s until he died. Doctor Martin Luther King was civil right activities who was brutally assassinated on the second-floor balcony of the Lorraine Hotel in Memphis Tennessee. ("Martin Luther King Jr") He was able to skip the ninth and eleventh grade in high school and graduated at the age of fifteen. King attended Moorehouse collegeCollege for undergraduate school. ("Martin Luther King Jr"). He later enrolled to Boston University for graduate school. While in Boston, he met Coretta Scott. Martin and Coretta Scott were married in 1953. His most famous speech "I Have a Dream" was spoken in Washington on August28, 1963.("Martin Luther King Jr") He received a Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. The right to vote was a big issue with the black people of Selma, Alabama. African Americans made up at least half the population but only 2.1 percent were able to vote. The march from Selma to Montgomery on the bridge was called a demonstration. On Sunday, March 7,1965, there were 600 people planning to march but it did not end well.(Jakoubek 97) Alabama state troopers blocked the bridge and warned the marchers to leave. The marchers refused because they wanted a peaceful march to be able to vote.(Jakoubek 98) The state troopers released tear gas, trampled the marchers with horses, and beat them with sticks and whips. (Jakoubek 98). They day became known as "Bloody Sunday". The marchers returned to the bridge days later with Martin Luther King Jr. John Lewis was the key organizer. Voting rights were later enabled.(Jakoubek 102) Martin was later shot to death in Memphis Tennessee at the Lorraine Hotel on his balcony. ("Martin Luther King Jr"). His murderer was James Earl Ray. Martin Luther King Jr. Made a huge impact on the civil rights movement. ("Martin Luther King Jr"). He made a huge impact on America because without him I believe there would be no change and we could still be segregated.

Martin Luther King Jr. was an extraordinary historical figure of America. He took on the role as one of the leaders of the Civil Rights movement. By doing so, he has accomplished many goals, which have greatly impacted American society from the 1960s to this day. For example, some accomplishments he has achieved include the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and gaining voting rights for African Americans across the United States of America in 1965. In addition to this, he used nonviolent tactics, such as, peaceful protests, demonstrations, and boycotts to convince people that racial discrimination is morally and ethically incorrect, and should be put to an end.

I was born on January 15, 1929. When I was born I was actually named Michael Luther King Jr. I started out in church ever since I was a baby. Church was everything growing up, if there was anything going on at the church I would be there. My grandfather was a preacher at Ebenezer Baptist Church; he served for forty-six years in that church as head pastor, it was funny cause if you asked anybody I was the co-pastor even though I was only like nine years old. Growing up it was all about segregation I went to segregated public schools all through high school. Growing up in Georgia didn’t help with the black population and the racial society. I was so tired of high school I graduated high school at the age fifteen. I wanted to get out I wanted to get away from what the public school was giving me cause I knew there was more for me out in the world I just needed to go out and achieve it.

Did you know that Martin Luther King Jr was sucidal as a child? Martin Luther King Jr has inspired me personally and many other people during the civil rights movements & a lot of events in the 60's. In my paper I plan to talk about the "I Have a Dream" speech, the March on Washington, and last but not least the Civil Rights movement as a whole. Martin Luther King Jr deserves the Nobel Prize because of the March on Washington, I Have a Dream, and Civil Rights.

One of the world's greatest leaders was born January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. His name is Martin Luther King, JR. He was a great leader in the Civil Rights movement. He persuaded many people to end segregation. He was the man that changed the world forever. MLK grew up in Georgia and graduated from three different colleges by 1955.

In 1996 Samuel Mohammed, a resident of West Palm Beach community, kicked down the door of an abandoned house within his neighborhood, that was used as a drug house, spread lighter fluid and started a fire. The night he set the fire he was never far away from the scene. He stood by and watched as the fire and at the time he deemed appropriate he called the police and the fire station. In response for setting the fire he was arrested on the charge of arson. His lawyer argued that he was not practicing arson but he was practicing Civil Disobedience in the traditional of Martin Luther King Jr. The question the jury was faced was should he be punished as an arsonist or let slide for practicing Civil Disobedience. He should be charged with arson

Martin Luther King Jr. lost his life trying to better the lives of African American people. Martin Luther King Jr. was an advocate for civil rights. He was an educated man. He urged his followers to protest non-violently no matter what. The assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. was unjust because he was an advocate for civil rights, he urged his followers to protest non-violently no matter what, and he was an educated man.

He was originally named Michael King Jr. He grew up being the middle child in a family of five, he had one brother and one sister. His sister, Christine King Farris, was the oldest out of the three kids, and his brother, A.D. King was the youngest. His mother, Alberta Williams King, was a former school teacher. His father, Martin Luther King Sr., was a pastor at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Should we continue to demand for freedom or should freedom be given? Freedom should be given not demanded. We should not have to fight for something we deserve. Having freedom is a privilege, a privilege that our ancestors have fought for for many many years. If we continue having racial problems, judging amongst another, and hatred for a different color skin we will never have a peaceful a nation. Freedom should be given for various reasons.
