The transit of Venus, seen from Earth as a small, dark disk crossing over the sun, is one of the rarest astronomical events to ever witness. If you missed it back in 2012 then chances are you’ll never see it again in your lifetime. In order for the transit to happen, Venus’ orbit has to align just right so that the planet is positioned exactly between the Earth and the sun. The transit has helped astronomers learn more about Venus’ atmosphere, the width of the sun, the size of the solar system, and it has helped to figure out exactly how long an astronomical unit (AU) is. Different filters on telescopes were used to capture the different lights emitted from the sun during the Venus transit. A white-light telescope filtered only to decrease

Venus of Urbino illustrates a young woman, Venus, lying nude on what appears to be a reclined couch or bed. However, the woman depicted means much more than merely a nude woman. There have been many interpretations of this beautiful woman over the years but many art historians agree that the Venus of Urbino has to do unambiguously with the male sexual desire for the female nude body.
Venus + Mars: Compare and contrast the evolution of the atmospheres of Mars, Venus, and Earth.
The field of view of the telescope was 0.46 degrees with an angular resolution of 10.16 microradians/pixel. The camera was operated in eight filtered band passes from 350-1100 nm. The eight-position filter wheel, consisted of three broad-band filters: red (671nm), green (559nm), violet (404nm). These broad-band filters allowed for the reconstruction of visible colour photographs. Light was collected by the primary mirror and directed to a smaller secondary mirror that channelled it through a hole in the centre of the primary mirror and onto the CCD.
While the diameter of Venus is 12,092 km, when compared to the Earth Venus is only 650 km smaller. Even though the Earth and Venus share a lot of similarities such as composition of the ground, gravity, and diameter, this is where the differences come in. Earth is capable of supporting life; Venus is hazardous to life. The Earth has liquid water, and hard rocky surface, Venus’ land masses is made of hardened magma, with very little rocky surfaces. Another key difference between the two planets is Venus has a weaker magnetic field when compared to the Earth. Venus also spins very slowly once per 243 Earth days; this could be the result of Venus’ core not being as active or even if it if
I think that the symbolical significance of the prehistoric cultural figures like the Venus of Willendorf deals mostly with the religious and social aspects of the human existence. Cultural critics and historians point out that during ancient time primitive societies were mostly matriarchic and a woman was considered a symbol of fertility. Childbirth from such point of view was considered as a holy act of life-giving. The fact that the woman is big and has massive gender features makes for the theory that women with large genitals can give birth to more children with less pain during the process of childbirth. Moreover, during the ancient times prosperity and health were implied by the physical characteristics. Big breasts of the Venus of WIllendorf serve as symbolical physical features of fertility (breast feeding) (Russell & Cohn, 2011).
With all the hype surrounding the Mercury transit doomsday theory, it almost seems that evil aliens exist on the planet itself. Apparently, that may not seem as outlandish as it sounds. NASA has discovered that life may be possible on the planet although it would hardly be glamorous.
Freedom of being beautiful.. No matter who you are, where are you from, what color you are, You Are Beautiful.

Taking place during the month of July, all female members of all households would plant fast-growing plants on the top of the roofs of their houses, calling the garden the “Garden of Adonis”, as they were honoring Adonis. Theses plants would be nurtured for a consecutive eight days, and then completely ignored, left to die in the sun. Afterward, in which case all the plants died, the women grieved for the loss. Following, a play most likely based on Greek tradition was held, depicting Venus and Adonis’ wedding. To conclude the festival, Adonis effigies were made and placed in coffins.
Venus is the 2nd planet from the Sun. Venus' reflective nature and close proximity to Earth are major factors in it's being one of the brightest objects in the sky after the Sun and Earth's moon. It is often referred to as
Since I briefly mentioned The Venus Factor in my most recent book, my readers and followers have been flooding my inbox and my Blog asking me to do a more detailed analysis about the Venus Factor…
The Soviet Union was the only country to actually land on the surface of Venus and were the ones to closely examine the atmospheric structure and properties along with the soil components. Though there were some technological failures along the way, their ability to persist paid off in discovering new scientific information from Earth’s sister
The equatorial diameter is 12,012 Km and the equatorial rotation is 243 days. Finally the mass of Venus is 4.87*10^24 (Cattermole, 63, 1993). Venus, although different than Earth, is still our sister planet.
A certain king and queen had three daughters. The charms of the two elder were more than common, but the beauty of the youngest was so wonderful that the poverty of language is unable to express its due praise. The fame of her beauty was so great that strangers from neighboring countries came in crowds to enjoy the sight, and looked on her with amazement, paying her that homage which is due only to Venus herself. In fact Venus found her altars deserted, while men turned their devotion to this young virgin. As she passed along, the people sang her praises, and strewed her way with chaplets and flowers.
