Responsibility is a very important trait all people must have. It is a necessary component for all people’s lives. Responsibility allows us to be independent of others and create a healthy atmosphere in your place of work.People can learn to be responsible in many different ways. People can learn to be responsible at a young age, or the knowledge of responsibility can come at an older age, usually through a life experience. This story tells a tale of a young boy named Sam who went through a lot and had his irresponsible nature get the best of him. It all started on a hot, sunny day on the farm. The head of the farm, Billy always took care of all of the animals, and Sam would just always play outside. Until one day, Billy had to leave the farm due to an emergency situation and did not have anyone to watch over the farm for him. He decided to ask Sam to watch over the farm for him for a little while until he came back.He told Sam that he had to take a period of absence in which he would run some errands. He assured Sam that it would take but a few minutes. He showed Sam the methods to properly take care of the farm animals and warned him to take his job seriously. Billy thereafter left the premises and Sam took control of the farm. …show more content…
He thought to himself what could go wrong if he just left for a little. Sam left the farm and decided to go play with his friends. He ended up getting lost in his time and went back to the farm after two hours. When he came back, he saw all the animals were missing, but he did not worry because he thought they would return to their home dwelling after some time. Time kept passing by and the animals were still missing. Sam did not know what to do and was starting to feel sad because he knew Billy would be mad at him. He kept running around looking for the animals but could not find any. Sam knew Billy would be home soon, so he decided to pretend he was
Often times in a communist society, a leader’s use of language can lead to abuse of power. In George Orwell’s Animal Farm, the farm leaders, the pigs, use unknown language, invoke scare tactics, and create specific laws, thereby enabling them to control other animals, to suit their greedy desires, and to perform actions outside their realm of power. Because of the pigs’ use of broad language, implementation of scare tactics, and creation and manipulation of laws, they are able to get away with avoiding laws and convincing other animals into believing untrue stories and lies that are beneficial to the pigs.
In George Orwell’s Animal Farm, the pigs are in control. Napoleon became the official leader after Snowball was chased out by the dogs. Squealer, Napoleon’s sidekick, now has social control over the farm animals. Squealer uses language to confuse and persuade the animals into thinking the commandments did not change, humans are allies and not enemies, and that some animals are more equal than others.
I have decided to explore the theme of how ‘Fear is a powerful motivator’. Different leaders and influential people have various ways of using fear to motivate people. Two of my texts: ‘Animal Farm’ by George Orwell, and ‘The Rise of Evil” directed by Christian Duguay, both show how totalitarian leaders used violence to motivate the public. The other texts: ‘Bowling for Columbine’ directed by Michael Moore, and ‘Who’s for the Game’ by Jesse Pope, both show how two different influential people motivated the public without using violence, instead creating fear using words.

As they walk up the driveway, he hears a dog start to bark and run toward them. The boy says, “ This is Toby! He's my own dog. I feed him, bath him, even sleep with him” He sits there, staring at the boy laughing and petting toby. He thinks about how his mom used to play and rub on him too. He then is suddenly interrupted by the boys mom. She shouted, “ Ronnie, who the hell is this boy? He ain’t one of your school friends?” The boy responds, “ No momma, this here is some boy I found in the woods.” His mom responded, “ Okay, y'all boys need to get in the house and clean up, suppers in thirty minutes.” He stood there frozen, supposed by the fact that the mom didn't think twice about some random boy coming over. The boy then waved him down to go inside and clean up. When he went upstairs, he noticed all the deer heads on the wall. Once he got upstairs, he ran to he sink. He put his hands into a bowl, scooping water into his mouth. Once he got some water, he took his clothes off and hopped into the tub. He sat there, contemplating why he didn't turn around. What made him think it was better to run away from his

The three were supposed to take a drive to the Cities and catch a Twins game, but Mike decided that his boys needed to learn a lesson. Instead, he drove the twelve blocks over to Carver Jacobs’ house to give the tickets to his kids. But Mike Burk’s car never made it to the Jacobs’ house. About a mile from their home on Exeter Lane, a deer ran out into the road. Mike instinctively slammed on the brakes. The car spun out and while it completely missed the deer, it found the front of a Pickman’s Appliance delivery truck. The doctors told Cody and his brother that their dad never felt a thing. Cody knew that wasn’t true. He suffered and bled out. He died in pain. And it was Cody’s

All tuckered out from searching they decided to take a break and rest at the shed. Wallace and Bud had been resting for about 10 minutes when they heard ruckus from inside the shed. They were curious what all the commotion was and decided to search the shed. When they opened the door to the shed they were shocked to see Gilbert the Goat. Gilbert also shocked to see them made a dash for the door but the boys were blocking it. Bud then leaped to tried to catch the goat but Gilbert was way too quick. The boys then decided they were just going to wait for the goat to go to sleep and then catch it. They waited for hours but the goat showed no signs of going to sleep soon. Wallace tired of waiting on the goat to fall asleep told Bud to distract the goat and he was going to try to catch Gilbert. Bud then proceeded to try to distract the goat. Then out of nowhere Wallace gave the goat a swift scissor kick to the neck. The goat went down and Bud jumped on it while Wallace tied it up. The boys then contacted the police to come get the

One day there was a family named the Bob family. In that family, there was the father named Bill, a mother named Charm, and the son, who is their kid, named is Bill Jr. When they got done eating breakfast and cleaned up the silverware, they started to head outside their house. The dad and son went to go hunt for deer and turkey to eat for dinner, while the mother picked corn, beans, wheat, and peas with a few other crops out of the nearby field that they owned. "Then there came a moment when the first shock had worn off and when, in spite of everything-in spite of their terror of the dogs, and of the habit...never complaining, never criticizing...But just at that moment, as though, at a signal, all the sheep burst out into a tremendous bleating of-". In George Orwell's allegorical novella Animal Farm, a successful rebellion was held against the farm owner, as he mistreated the animals on the farm. Right after the rebellion, the pigs took control of the farm as they were the most literate and clever animals on the farm. There was no other choice for the animals than to believe and agree to what the pigs said as they were not as literate or clever as the pigs. Which led to the point where the pigs had the absolute control over the farm.
In the novella, Animal Farm, by George Orwell, Orwell uses Squealer to describe the quote, “power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely” by John Dalberg-Acton, 1st Baron Acton. In the story, when all the animals were working hard on tending the farm, Squealer sits around explaining the “endless work in supervision and organisation [on] the farm” (119). Squealer, with power to convince the others animals what he does is right, lives a lavish life without having to do much work on the farm. Squealer is able to leech off the other animal's work to benefit himself because of the amount of power he has gained.
Curt poached his first animal off of Fred’s land and it was a wild pig. He has been living there for 20 years and has not seen a person in them 20 years. One day he went out to the river to go get a bucket of water when he got knocked out. When he came conches again he saw Fred and his
The characters in George Orwell’s book, Animal Farm, are constantly being paralleled with life during the early 20th century, in which communism was stirring in Russia. For example, two pigs, Napoleon and Snowball, were allegories that represented Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky. Napoleon and Snowball competed for authority after the eldest and most respected pig, Old Major, died. Similarly, Stalin and Trotsky competed for power after Vladimir Lenin died. The allegories go on, but one trait that stands in almost every animal from Animal Farm along with almost every human in today’s society is self-preservation. Self-preservation comes in many forms. Whether it be greed, selfishness, deception, or a more passive form, self-preservation is everywhere
The comparison of animals and the Soviet Union is what brings together an intellectual fable about socialism and the abuse of power. “The function of socialism is to raise suffering to a higher level” (Norman Mailer). In George Orwell’s symbolic fable “Animal Farm”, a group of animals plan to start a rebellion in order to form their own way of living, instead of being brought to live under equal conditions. The idea of socialism and the abuse of power is heavily portrayed throughout this fable. The fable was written on August 17th, 1945, which was during a relentless and socialist era.
