(Title) Rikki-tikki- tavi is an interesting story about a muskrat and his battles. There are two different versions of the story, the movie and the book. Each have some things differently than the other, but they mostly have the same story that is known. Also, both have the story of Rikki-tikki’s fights and adventures. For each part of the story they either did or did not have the characters, setting, and con similar to one another. For Rikki-tikki-tavi, the characters are mostly the same throughout the story for both versions. An example would be of course Rikki-tikki, Nag, and Nagaina. Some of the other characters that took an important role in the story that were left the same are the family that took Rikki-tikki in, Darzee, and
Loyalty is the quality of being loyal to someone or something. In a bungalow located in Segowlee, cantonment a youthful mongoose named Rikki-tikki who was snatched out of his home would have to save a young boy Teddy and his family from deadly snakes. Rikki-tikki-tavi, written by Rudyard Kipling, and it’s movie, produced by Alexandra Snezhko-Blotskaya, have many similarities and differences. Rikki-tikki-tavi, the movie and the book are not the exact same. Some of the differences and similarities are that in Rikki-tikki-tavi the book, Rikki and Nag fight in their first meet, but in the movie there was no fight between them and in both the book and the movie Rikki-tikki meets Darzee and his wife, and Rikki-tikki and a dust snake fight. The
Rikki-tikki-tavi the book and Rikki-tikki-tavi the movie are both similar and very different. There are many differences and some similarities.
Between the two mediums, the conflicts between characters are comparable with minor variations. The main disagreement in the story and the movie is the rivalry between Rikki and Nag and Nagaina. Rikki’s and the cobra’s clash began as soon as Rikki went out to explore the garden. He met Darzee, the tailor bird, and his wife who was mourning the loss of one of their babies “because it had fallen out of the nest and Nag ate it.” (Kipling) Another dispute is between Rikki and Chuchundra about Chua’s comment “that Nag is everywhere.” (Kipling) A thrilling clash of rivals occurs when Rikki goes to the melon patch and smashes all of Nagaina’s eggs. Notwithstanding the similarities of the mediums, a difference materialize in how Rikki comes to face Karait. In the book it states “It gave him confidence in himself, and when Teddy came
The characters in the book and the movie are a lot alike. Such as the main character, and the protagonist, Rikki-Tikki. Rikki-Tikki was the brave mongoose that killed Nag. In both the book and the movie Rikki-Tikki was known as the courageous, fearless and heroic mongoose. Rikki-Tikki was strong when he was face to face against the Cobras. In the text it states, “He was
The first similarity between the movie and the book is the characters and what they do in it. The snakes are the first people that are the same, especially Nag and Nagaina. They do the same strike, or at least try to strike, Rikki Tikki when they first saw him. The brave Rikki Tikki asks Darzee “But I am a stranger here, who is Nag?” Then Nag rises from the ground, then Nagaina tries to strike Tikki from behind but fails before Darzee’s wife warns him.(Kipling pg. 146) The second person that is the same is Darzee, or the singing bird. Darzee in both the book and the movie sang through everything even when Rikki Tikki had “died”. He even sang a song when they thought Rikki had died, “So he sang a very mournful song that he made up on the spur of the
Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is a story about a young mongoose that is trying to conquer his fear and end two cobras that pillage around the family garden. The story starts off with Rikki-Tikki getting washed away from his family in a storm. He wakes up to a young boy and a man. They take him to their home and nourish him with food and warmth. Once he is all to health, he scouts around the property of the family. While Rikki-Tikki is looking around the garden, he hears two birds mourning in their nest. In the middle of the birds explaining to Rikki why they are mourning, a cobra named Nag shows up and threatens Rikki. Fear got struck onto Rikki, but he was able to manage some courage to stand up to Nag. Nag’s wife, Nagaina, shows up behind Rikki and tries
In the book and the movie there both alike because in the beginning of the movie it shows Rikki-tikki-tavi getting washed away and in the book it says Rikki was getting washed away. Also there alike because in the book it says Nag was distracting Rikki because Nag saw Nagaina and knew she was gonna try to attack Rikki. Another similarity is that Terry thought Rikki was dead and Terry’s dad said he’s probably just choked up with water. The book and the movie also gives the lyrics of the songs Darzee sang and gives a over dramatic kind of tune. The movie and the book stay on the same mood most of the time, also listening and watching is way different because while you listen you image in your head what you think it looks like an then you watch
Rikki-tikki-tavi’s movie is very similar to the book, though there are a few changes. Rikki-tikki-tavi was written by Rudyard Kipling around 1983, and some changes happened between the movie and book. Rikki-tikki-tavi is different from the movie in minute ways, including the food he eats, the way he met/fought Nag and Nagaina, and the way he moves.
Rikki-Tikki Tavi is a short story written by Rudyard Kipling that takes place in Colonial, India. Rikki-Tikki, the principal character, is a snake-eating mongoose that gets flushed out of his home and taken in by a family. The story shows the good and evil in people and the fight between the brave mongoose and the two snakes, Nag and Nagaina. In the end, Rikki ends up killing the two snakes and to save the family that adopted him. I believe that Rikki is not guilty and that the snakes were attempting murder.
Rikki Tikki Tavi’s personality changed throughout the story. One moment he was very loyal and the next he was very disrespectful. Rikki’s mood and personality changes throughout the story that contradicts his loyalness and upstanding character. Rikki Tikki threatens to bite Chuchundra if he does not give him an answer fast. Rikki is very aggressive at this moment, he says, “Do you think snake killer kills muskrats?”
What motivates a person or character in text to undertake a mission. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi by Rudyard Kipling is a fictional narrative that demonstrates that characters in text undertake a mission because of multiple motivations. The narrative begins by introducing the reader to Rikki-Tikki-Tavi and the human family, as well as the initial conflict of Rikki-Tikki being washed away from his mongoose family and ends up being adopted by the human family. Soon thereafter, Rikki-Tikki encounters the story’s most important conflict, battling the snakes, and while engaging in his mission to kill the snakes, Rikki killed Karait the dusty brown snakeling, Rikki then engaged in battle with Nag and won, Rikki lastly slaughtered Nagaina. The resolution
It is difficult to stand by family and friends through hardships, but Rikki-Tikki-Tavi protected his family through close deaths and life threatening moments. “Rikki Tikki Tavi” by Rudyard Kipling is a fictional fable that demonstrates that people should protect anybody that they care about.
Many people assume that the book and movie of the same story are always very similar, but they are incorrect. In my comparison of the short story Rikki-tikki-tavi by Rudyard Kipling and the movie of Rikki-tikki-tavi, I found them to be rather different. There were many minor differences, but the three main topics in the short story that clearly differentiate it from the movie are the setting, the character traits, and the use of humor.
The characters in the book had static personalities (some a bit exaggerated in the movie) and purposes of being on the island. Some names did differ in the movie, where Wargrave was renamed Judge Quinncannon, Tony Marston was renamed Prince Nikita Starloff, and General MacArthur was renamed Sir John Mandrake. The way Lombard was invited to the island was unique to each: In the book he was invited directly by Isaac Morris, but received a letter in the movie. Murders some characters committed also differed: Emily Brent killed her nephew, and Vera was accused of killing her sister’s fiancé (which later proved false). At the end of the movie, Lombard actually happened to not be Lombard, but a friend of Lombard’s. Overall, the characters kept
Rikki was found by a river soaking wet by Teddy, a boy who wanted to have a funeral for him, and his family. In both the story and movie he was describe cold and wet; also he was found in the dirt. The family decided to take him home to warm him up and get him something to eat. During the movie the big man, Teddy’s dad, picked Rikki up at the river holding him with his nose at the man’s finger tips, and Rikki’s tail passed his wrist. While in the story it is stated “the big man picked him up between finger and thumb.”( Kipling pg.143) there is a difference between the story and the movie. While the movie isn’t an exact replica there still are a lot of similarities. When the family decided to bring Rikki-Tikki in to dry the movie and story have a difference. The story said that “They wrapped him in cotton, and warmed him over a little fire.” (Kipling 143). Although the movie was close it showed Rikki in the cotton but he wasn’t placed over a small fire. Similarities are plentiful in the movie, but there are some differences to look up to.
