I agree with Rousseau analysis of civilization which looks into the foundations of inequality among men, and to decide whether this inequality is authorized by natural law. In this essay I am going to focus on the concept of Rousseau and what he believed held the notion that humans are mobilized by two distinct kinds of self love: amour de soi, a benign concern for one’s self-preservation and self-interest; and amour-propre, a sense of one 's own worth and selfish interest. Amour de soi is kind of self-love that humans share with beastly animals and anticipate the appearance of society. The acts out of amour de soi tend to be for individual well-being. They are naturally good and are not evil because amour de soi as self-love does not involve ensuing one 's self-interest at the expense of others. The sentiment does not compare, individual with others, but is concerned entirely with oneself as an absolute and valuable existence. It is related to an awareness of one 's future and can restrain present impulse. Rousseau compares this with amour-propre, that kind of self-love, in which one 's opinion of oneself is mostly dependent on what other people think or see them and this is arises only with society.
