People experience different emotions that can drastically change within seconds and, cannot remain controlled. During the course of “The Most Dangerous Game”, “Scarlet Ibis” and “The Use of Force”, the author demonstrates how a person can change from calm and collected to an assailant. Sickness comes in many forms, both physical and mental. Together both can affect emotions, actions which those two then lead into flaws and faults being revealed. All humans have flaws and the authors are attempting to aid the reader in understanding flaws and that can be embraced or overpower a person. The narrators and characters of these stories have many flaws these faults which are both extremely subtle and obvious. ***During “The Use of Force” when the narrator agrees to help he seems willing and confident however, the young girl, Mathilda makes his task near impossible causing his psychotic, obsessed side to be exposed.When the story begins the narrator seeks out …show more content…

The “Scarlet Ibis” informs the reader that sometimes flaws take control over a person not allowing rationalization. The brother's pride over takes his love for his brother driving him to leave his brother. “The knowledge that Doodle's and my plans had come to naught was bitter, and that streak of cruelty within me awakened. I ran as fast as I could, leaving him far behind with a wall of rain dividing us”(6). When Doodle fails, his brother falls into his ignorance and pride overcomes the brother. However, this character shows remorse for his action, he understands his flaws and express that pride is his flaw. Due to the fact that he realized it he was able to properly grieve and in the future understand the flaw and how to overcome the blinding pride. Some view faults as evil others as a blessing, none of these characters used the faults in a proper way they allowed the faults to overpower and control their
