Once I received my driver's license a sense of freedom came over me, and I found myself exploring my hometown of Palm Springs. My love for photographing unique places led me driving to remote locations all over town. I discovered hidden murals in back allies, coffee shops that gave me clarity and comfort, consignment stores filled with odd commodities , and estate sales; where I once met the most interesting man that forever changed the way I viewed the world and myself. On a Saturday, as I drove around looking for bright neon signs pointing in the direction of a garage sale, I found myself instead driving towards an antique district hosting its monthly parking lot sale. My friend Paige and I decided to take a walk inside the many galleries
I have lived in California for the entirety of my life. While widely known for its beauty, California is much more locally known for its twisty, turny roads that traverse mountains, the pacific coast, hills, valleys, deserts, and forests. Surrounded by this environment has allowed me to develop a passion for travel and nature which has inspired me to work toward further developing and restructuring modern transportation methods such as trains, buses, bridges, and roadways. I believe that I can contribute to a future where faster travel allows people to spend more time interacting face-to-face and I plan to effect this change by pursuing a career in civil engineering and rallying for better environmental protection programs while educating myself
This is my story when I moved to colorado and when I moved again and what I felt when we moved and the second story Is when I moved to a different neighborhood and school so enjoy.
I remember when I first moved to Colorado, one of the things that I heard about this lovely state was how it was one of the healthiest state. And I totally get it. They love the great outdoors and I see my friends talking about going into the mountains, going hiking, camping or even fishing. As a New Yorker, I'm all about the city and I love the city life but I have to adjust to life here in Colorado because my kids are here and I've decided to call it "home". However , while Colorado is known as the healthiest state, for many Coloradans - especially our kids - the story is quite different. Did you know that Colorado ranks a mediocre 24th in the nation for our children’s level of physical activity, with nearly 55 percent of our kids not getting the recommended amount of physical activity each week.
There are unfurnished one bedroom apartments in Kenmore, NY located at 16-42 Chapel Road. I was going to move there, but decided not to since I do not have furniture, and I did not want to sign a lease. The apartments are located in a safe neighborhood. The contact phone number is (716) 949-3264. The rent is $650.00 for 650 square feet which includes water, stove, and a refrigerator. The tenant pays for the utilities. The average rent for a one bedroom apartment in the Buffalo area is $870.00.
After graduating high school in June, I plan on moving back to my birth city to study Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto. After not living in Toronto since I was a baby and have absolutely no memories from then, I hope that I will be able to seamlessly adapt to the different environment. I am certain that I will struggle with the cold for at least my freshman year, but I still think I will be able to get used to it.
One Spring, my mother and I were visiting my uncle in Alabama. I wanted to see what all the state had to offer. My aunt informed us that a new clothing store had opened in a small town outside of Mobile, Alabama. My mother and I love to shop so we immediately jumped in her sedan and proceeded to the store. Alabama’s scenery was so mesmerizing. The bright sun glistening on Mobile Bay was absolutely breathtaking. I could hardly keep my eyes open to enjoy the view because the sun began to impair my
In my book I told the story of when I moved here from Arizona to Virginia. This event flipped my world upside down, I moved away from my family, friends, house, and the wonderful warm weather. I also had to adjust to the new climate and a new house. The making of this book has brought out the emotions of missing my friends and family that are still very far away. It has changed me personally in the way that I no longer had those friends around to shape me and I had to become more outgoing to go and make new friends. I new that we would move at some point while living in Arizona since I had already moved twice, but never imagined I would be leaving the west coast. Let alone staying out here in the same area and house for the past 10 years since
A week before spring break my dad proposed that we go to Las Vegas. So that following Tuesday we boarded a red eye out of Dallas, Texas and headed to the city of entertainment. First, we checked into the New York-New York Hotel & Casino. As we walked throughout the hotel I was in sensory overload: there were lights flashing, people yelling, and cigarettes burning. From then on I identified Las Vegas as a fascinating place.
Last January I had decided to make one of the biggest decisions of my life and move to Phoenix. Coming from Alaska this was a drastic change for me. I really didn't want to leave but I got a job offer that I just couldn't turn down. Very quickly I learned that Phoenix was as bland and boring as everyone said it would be. No nature, no weather, just buildings and bright sunny days. The first two weeks were fine, but after that I had already explored most of the area and learned that Phoenix just might be one of the most boring cities in America
My passion for sustainable development was influenced by father. As a garbage truck driver, he would take me to the San Diego Waste landfill and show me the negative impact waste has on the environment. Despite his broken English, third grade education and limited understanding on sustainability, this experience motivated me to continue my education and become an advocate for sustainable changes in my community.
Two years ago in fifth grade was a great year until one something happened, something that was not going to make the year better, but make the year worse. I was sitting in my room watching TV when mom yells from the living room, “Kandace! Can you come here please?”. I pause the show and walk out of the room and sit on the couch she looks at her phone and then at me, “ Katelynn and Andrea are moving to Arizona.” she says in a sad voice, My heart stopped. In my head, I just kept thinking It’s a joke, she is just kidding, why would they move so far away? but she wasn’t they were really moving to Arizona, and I had no idea why.
I moved to Tucson in 1996 with my wife after backpacking around Europe for 2 ½ months. We have 2 boys who loves to play soccer and track. I currently for a healthcare company and I also have my own consulting business. I am excited about taking this class for many reasons, but the best reason is that upon successful completion I will have my Associate and Bachelors degree. I wish everyone a successful semester.
Although the beautiful winters in Rochester already make the university cool, I, as a student, can make the school even cooler by being an active member in organizations and introducing Bay Area culture into the campus. I have lived most of my life in the Bay Area, during this time I have grown accustomed to the cultures from here. I plan to introduce the cultures and customs that originate in the Bay Area. Since they aren’t known over the country, these cultures only occur in the Bay Area. For example, the hyphy culture began to emerge in the late 1990s and early 2000s as a response from Bay Area rappers against commercial hip hop. However, this culture and movement wasn’t popularized anywhere else in the country. Consequently, this urban
Staying in Oakland will be the best solution financially. Oakland has a booming economy that continues to grow at a rapid pace. Many new companies setting up headquarters in Oakland, such as Uber, are making the prices of living in Oakland rise higher and higher because many rich tech people are moving in rapidly. As a result, Oakland is becoming a much nicer place than it once was. By staying put, the Raiders would benefit from more expensive tickets due to Oakland becoming a wealthy city. Also, the Raiders fan base in the Alameda County is second to none, as they have been selling out games for years. This will also help drive up the ticket prices because there will be lots of demand for the tickets, thus raising the prices even further.
Please excuse me if the following content seems out of sorts or out of basis with sound logic, I was still very young (of course) and not everything can be recaptured the way I would like to. All names will be used, not used, or even changed to protect certain identities and confidentialities of said person (s) in my stories. I will occasionally be jumping back and forth in some sections of my story to help better reflect portions of my life that were forgotten as of late, or to give inference, to better explain, and give more visual elements to events that were either too bland and vague.
