The case of Sherry Hunt is an extremely complicated one. The fraud that she witnessed while working at Citibank was significant, and her report of it to the Federal Government was extremely honorable. Hunt had values and motivations in relation to this case, however I would boil them all down to the categories of first her own financial and physical well-being, as well as a feeling of responsibility she felt to correct these issues that she was seeing and helping all the people negatively affected by them. I certainly share these same feelings as Mrs. Hunt did in whistleblowing. The ability to financially support your own family, especially in the situation as Sherry Hunt with a disabled husband unable to work she had to be able to support …show more content…
The first thing that I would do would be to follow the correct chain of command in reporting the incorrect actions, with a non-response resulting in me moving further, and further up the ladder. Instead of using email such as Mr. Bowen attempted to do I would attempt to have these interactions with my superior’s face to face. I find that this medium of communication to be significantly more effective, and personal then simply sending off an email to somebody. This is because somebody can simply read an email, choose to respond, or just simply completely ignore the message all together. If you instead choose to confront the person in a face to face conversation that individual is more prone to giving you an answer to your issue. In doing this it is important also to convey your message to the superior in a non-threatening manner. The intention in the scenario is not to anger anyone, but simply get an answer to your concerns. If I went through the entire chain of command with no result, I would then realize that the issue was a systematic problem in the company and would then pursue some sort of legal action like that of Sherry Hunt. In this case, it is important that the issue is corrected by any means possible even legal action. Citibank was incorrectly using government money something that should not be tolerated. It would also be

The concept of a “carrier” first emerged with typhoid fever with Mary Mallon in 1907. Mary Mallon was a working as a cook in her employer’s household, Charles Henry Warren, in New York. Working as a cook allow the bacteria, Salmonella typhi, to be transmitted to the household members through the food she was handling. George Sober, a sanitary engineer, was brought in to find the cause of illness and had proposed that it was the ingestion of freshwater clams. This was later disproven by the questioning of the infected individuals having denied they had eaten the clams. Sober then moved his suspicions onto Mary Mallon, believing she was spreading the disease as a carrier. This was a new concept at the time and was not readily accepted, especially

Many care receivers are commonly oppressed by stereotypical social standards. This means that the society has not embraced and respect diversity. In this regard, it is very important for caregiver to acknowledge the diversity of care receivers to help them to be liberate from the oppressions with sincere cares. Especially, cultures and theology should not be judged by other cultural or theological criteria. Given this, Carrie Doehring starts her pastoral care from acknowledging alterity. She argues, “Trust deepens when care seekers sense that caregivers will respect the mystery of who they are – they alterity.” From this, care givers need to know who care seekers are with understanding their inner-self to care them, respecting them. Therefore, understanding the lived theology of care seekers will help care givers to understand who

Opportunities for an individual to develop understanding of themselves stem from the experiences attained on their journey through life. The elements which contribute to life are explored throughout Gwen Harwood’s poems, At Mornington and Mother Who Gave Me Life, where the recollection of various events are presented as influences on the individual’s perception of the continuity of life. Both poems examine the connections between people and death in relation to personal connections with the persona’s father or mother. By encompassing aspects of human nature and life’s journey, Harwood addresses memories and relationships which contribute to one’s awareness of life.
In the film Norma Rae, the textile workers were unsatisfied with many aspects of their Capitalistic work environment. They fought to form a union so that they could change the undesirable characteristics to better meet their needs. Political, environmental and cultural processes all played a part in the workers struggle to form an effective union.
Ruth Benedict’s anthropological book, Patterns of Culture explores the dualism of culture and personality. Benedict studies different cultures such as the Zuni tribe and the Dobu Indians. Each culture she finds is so different and distinctive in relation to the norm of our society. Each difference is what makes it unique. Benedict compares the likenesses of culture and individuality, “A culture, like an individual, is a more or less consistent pattern of thought or action” (46), but note, they are not the same by use of the word, “like.” Benedict is saying that figuratively, cultures are like personalities. Culture and individuality are intertwined and dependent upon each other for survival.

Gwen Harwood’s poetry is very powerful for its ability to question the social conventions of its time, positioning the reader to see things in new ways. During the 1960’s, a wave of feminism swept across Australian society, challenging the dominant patriarchal ideologies of the time. Gwen Harwood’s poems ‘Burning Sappho’ and ‘Suburban Sonnet’ are two texts that challenge the dominant image of the happy, gentle, but ultimately subservient housewife. Instead, ‘Burning Sappho’ is powerful in constructing the mother as violent to reject the restraints placed on her by society, whilst Suburban Sonnet addresses the mental impact of the female gender’s confinement to the maternal and domestic sphere. Harwood employs a range of language and

NO the question you should be asking yourself is why the hell have you done nothing to fix this issue, the things that have been happening to others because of many people discriminating them for how they look, for how they talk, for who they choose to be in life. In the 1960s this woman called Katherine Johnson was one of the first African American woman to work for Nasa, she worked as a Mathematician calculating the trajectories for many NASA missions and working with many people in this project which in many cases was hard for her 1. Her being a woman and 2. Her being African American, now these shouldn't be any reasons for her to fail or not be able to do it (right), well in her case it wasn't, it was the fact that many people doubted her, made fun fun of her skin color, and most of all her being equal to a man really made her get laughed at because everyone thought that she can’t do it, how can a woman be with such a high authority and equal with a man working for NASA, although many people did not agree with what she did however, with her working there for 33 years taking all the discrimination words she heard, brought eather to her face or in secret she toughened up and realized no matter how many things they say about me I will keep on going, she later on started proving everyone that she can do it she started solving various complex equations and multiple plans on what types of angles the ships should be held from, what speed to blast
I think it's to do with pleasure, rather than pain. These two are so intimate at this moment that they just want to be as close as possible. They hold each other tight, hands and the position of his abdomen, which lacks movement, suggesting that he just stays as far in as possible. This also indicates that one partner is sexually dominant the other is submissive.
