Short Story : Chapter 1

He sighed loudly, “Newbies, always trying to play the hero,” he snapped his fingers and I heard a loud crack from behind me, then a heavy thud. I was too scared to turn around, I knew she was dead, there was no way she couldn’t be. I couldn't hear her breathing, or feel her shaking anymore.

She sighed quietly, allows her unneeded lungs to take in the fresh, cool air that she also does not require. Serenity. That’s what she felt that night. Sincere relief.

Hinton, an amiable tobacco planter in Virginia, inspected the mill infrequently and trusted him to make an honest trade. There was no way to forecast when loggers would arrive, depending on the weather and the wind and water currents so Matthew remained available year-round. He was tall, burley with bushy, red hair, and freckles that almost connected into a solidly tan face. People never forgot him because his freckles were such an assortment of colors, red, brown, tan, beige, pink, auburn, rust, black, and orange. He entertained visitors with stories of animals and men fighting themselves and each other along with spine-tingling stories about ghosts and Indians that intimidated the settlers. If they were true, it did not matter.

“Mark or not, we are getting rid of this dog.” said my dad, red in the face.

I sit at the kitchen table going over the eviction papers. But we have done nothing wrong I think in my head. My husband John paces beside me furrowing his brow. “I just don't understand. Why us? Why would they come after us?!” exclaims John.

Sacrosa turned her head, her eyes almost morose looking, while Richard on the other hand nearly jumped out of his skin and pulled a tendon in his neck. He groaned at the warmth passing through his throat craning his neck with a sigh.

“This is it,” Theron said, leaning against the holotable. Everything had been powered down and packed up. All that was left was to pile onto their ships and go their separate ways. Theron had a shuttle standing by, a simple, one-manned vessel to deliver him to his mother’s command ship.

Something was clamped to her face! Straightway her eyes snapped open in surprise. After a moment, she realized it was a pair of hands and lips. Growling with exasperation, she shoved him off of her, onto the ground.

Then, with one poweful gulp, she sucked his shoulders and head down into her throat.

I’d forgotten about it. I pulled the bandage off and laid it on the bar.

“...call this meeting to order?” A deep, masculine voice spoke. Triven wasn’t quite sure who it belonged to. He hadn’t heard it before.

As she had done to him before he sniffed at her buttcheeks, grunting while pushing his nose closer. Sandro was about to grab her when he heard the doorbell ring followed

“Where are the?” he muttered to himself angrily. “They should be here by now.” Chester was waiting for Harry Cat and Tucker mouse, his two best friends whom he’d met in Times Square, New York. By the way, Chester was a cricket and a phenomenal musician. He had been waiting for this moment for quite a few months now. He couldn’t wait to be reacquainted with his friends. Chester had become so anxious, that he had subconsciously started to chirp uncontrollably.

The team I was on won the football game & we were going to have a championship tomorrow. It was getting late & there weren’t anymore people at the park besides us. At six o'clock we all had to go inside.

The wind blew harder breaking branches from the trees, as they hit the homes and roads with a loud crash. Alex cuddled closer to the sleeping body that lies next to them. “Come on this can’t be that bad” they quietly mumbled to themselves. Not noticing that their partner was awake listening to them trying to stay calm. Hardly even 5 minutes pass before Haden turns towards Alex wrapping their arms around them. Alex jumped in shock “H-how much did you hear?!?” they studer out. “Will you ever stop being adorable?” Haden says with a smirk. “That didn’t answer my question” Alex says slightly pouting. “Fine” Haden says giving in “I just heard you mumbling to yourself about the storm”.
