WATSONVILLE, California -- A California cat that was lost four years ago ended up thousands of miles away -- in Canada! Now her family is ready to bring her back home to Watsonville.
"My sister found her on the street and she was about maybe 7, 8 weeks old," owner Ashley Aleman said.
From the time she was a tiny kitten, BooBoo loved to wander.
"She would go outside, she would go missing for more than a day, but then she would always come back," Aleman said.
Until one day, she didn't.
"She had not touched her food bowl, not touched her litter box in about a week," she said.
That was four years ago.
For weeks, Aleman looked everywhere, even brought out BooBoo's best friend, Oreo the dog.
"Let's take him on a walk and let's see if maybe he can smell her out," Aleman said.

Or so they thought.
After four years, she showed up thanks to a microchip the Alemans had implanted. They knew BooBoo could get around, but they had no idea.

"My mom got a phone call from a Canadian number, and she was like, 'I'm not gonna answer,'" Aleman said.
From the time she was a kitten, BooBoo's whole life was centered in Watsonville. But somehow, she managed to make it all the way over to a city 40 miles outside Toronto. That's more than 2,000 miles from home. And nobody's really sure how she did it.
"How the heck did she get all the way over there?" Aleman asked.
Employees at Guelph Humane Society took her in as a stray, in good spirits and well taken care of.
"She's really social, she's very vocal. Any time you go into the room where she's being housed, she's the first cat that you hear," Guelph Humane Society's Melissa Stolz said.
Aleman thinks that friendly nature lovers may have helped BooBoo cross the continent as a hitchhiker or
''Jem gave a reasonable description of Boo: Boo was about six-and-a-half feet tall, judging from his tracks; he dined on raw squirrels and any cats he could catch, that’s why his hands were bloodstained—if you ate an
Unfortunately, the family that saved Zoe was unable to keep her so she was brought to Front Street Animal Shelter, where she was determined to be unadoptable due to her medical issues. Chako Pit Bull Rescue stepped in and took Zoe to live in a loving foster home. She received proper medical care, nourishment, love and training while she was in foster
Since Boo hadn’t left his house in many years, nobody knew what he looked like and if he was rich or poor, so many of the residents of Maycomb assumed the worst. They guessed that he lived in a messy, old house and was going to hurt or even kill anyone that got near where he lived. Some didn’t even think he was alive.
Boo just sat there in the wake of cutting his dad. He didn't apologize or feel regret for his activities.Boo Radley disconnects himself from the general population of Maycomb. Boo remains inside his home throughout the day and no one ever observes him. After some issue with the law, "Mr. Radley's kid was not seen again for fifteen years"(10). In the event that Boo goes outside, he will be unjustifiably seen as a guest because of his secretive ways. Boo remains inside his home since he realizes that his general public will mock him. Boo has lost his fundamental social aptitudes and won't go outside of his home. Boo is known of gossip and is seen as the towns scary figure. The town theorizes what he does inside his home. Individuals think that Boo "went out around evening time when the moon was down, and peeped in windows... any stealthy little violations submitted in Maycomb were his work"(9). The town would fault or denounce Boo for any little wrongdoing or unexplained marvel. Kids guess and also the grown-ups. Jem hypothesizes to Dill "Boo was around six and a half feet tall, ... there was a since quite a while ago rough scar that kept running over his face;
Boo left gifts for the children in the hollow trunk of an old tree, and he also covers Scout with a blanket during Miss Maudie's house fire. But, it’s not until he saves Jem and Scout's life from the endangerment of Mr. Ewell, that Boo really expresses his true heroic character. He expressed no fear when it came to protecting Jem and Scout's life. It’s not until after this traumatic episode that Scout is finally able to come to agreement with her true feelings towards Boo. Scout finally concludes that Boo was never spying on the children, but was just trying looking out for them.
Another reason he might be locked up is because he stabbed his dad in the leg with a scissors. He was three years old when he stabbed his dad in the leg. According to the book his dad ran into the street yelling that he was killing everyone. He might have been locked up in an asylum for this reason. The last reason I think Boo was locked up is because Boo and
He left his home, something that rarely happens, to protect Scout from the cold. Though some may consider the gesture insignificant, since Scout didn’t actually remember him doing it, it actually is a very monumental gesture. Throughout the book, the only reason why Boo, the recluse, left his home was for Jem and Scout. Boo became increasingly involved in the children's lives, by watching them, looking out for them, and soon, protecting them from the harmful Bob
Boo Radley is mentioned multiple times throughout the book as Jem, Scout and Dill, along with the rest of Maycomb County, are curious about him and his life. Scout mentions Boo on the first page, stating that “Dill first gave us the idea of making Boo Radley come out”. According to neighborhood legend, Boo was locked in his house since he was a teenager under his fathers iron fist for fifteen years as punishment for
Bianca, the calico cat, found a new home through a program that allows cats that are six years old or older to be adopted for free by senior citizens. The Postal Service reports that Bianca has since passed away, “but was well-loved and cared for in her final years.”
<br>People different from the "normal" citizens in a society often become misunderstood because they do not exhibit the same values and beliefs as the majority of society. Boo happens to be a recluse whose recent appearances in society can be counted on a single hand. People, such as the children, do not understand why he feels it necessary not to venture out into the world
In To Kill a Mockingbird, author Harper Lee teaches the causes and impacts of loneliness through the characters Dill, Mayella, and Boo. Dill was uncared for and abandonment issues caused him to become a compulsive liar. Mayella Ewell felt alone in her family, only receiving attention from her abusive father. Boo Radley, after becoming a prisoner in his own home, transformed into a notorious hermit. The issue of loneliness, prominent within Lee’s writing, informs readers the of the detriments of solitude.
Boo lived his entire life never wanting to hurt a fly. He left things for Gem and Scout through the book. He mended Jem’s pants and left them on the fence so he could escape from his father. He also saved Jem and Scout’s lives by defending them in the fight. Boo was a gentle and fragile person. Throughout the novel Jem, Scout, and Dill are curious about the mysterious Boo Radley because no one has ever seen him outside from his house. The children are afraid of him because of what everyone says. An example of this would be Miss Stephanie tells them that Boo was cutting a magazine, he
She also says that most of the rumors about him are false, but that if he wasn't crazy as a boy, he probably is by now. Boo even leaves chewing gum for Scout and Jem in an Oak tree outside his house. The children one day find an Indian head penny in the same tree. Boo’s father then puts cement in the knothole where the children played the type of leaving and finding game, preventing Boo with any outside contact at all. Boo, like a mockingbird, did nothing besides entertain, whose innocent fun was destroyed by his evil father. Boo continues his good-hearted deeds putting a blanket around Scout in a later chapter and even rescuing Scout and Jem from Bob Ewell an enemy of their father. In this act of courage Boo the childhood phantom of Maycomb then becomes Boo the human being, no longer shrouded by the evil rumors and away from his evil father.

Several people speculate that Boo is a ghost and not an actual person. In the book Jem says, “ Boo was about six-and-a-half
Today I met with a volunteer from the Cat Network, an organization that spays and neuters stray cats in South Florida. The volunteer, Ibis, is currently volunteering at the adoption center, a place were people looking to adopt a pet can find cats in need of homes. She takes care of the cats by cleaning their cages and making sure they are well fed. She also lets them out of their cage sometimes to play and get exercise.
