My short-term career goals including graduating with a sport management degree that will enable me to excel in the next part of my life. I would also like to be excepted into one of the top law schools that offer a sport law program and be an intern at the NCAA after graduation. Ohio University’s sport management program will help me do this by giving me the education and opportunities to achieve these goals. As a freshman, I was able to start a club for women in sport management which created more opportunities for myself. I was able to meet with more faculty who wanted to learn about the club and also meet other females in the sport management program and create a network for ourselves. Through this club, I was selected to be a part of a
In high school, I never imagined attending the nation's number one public research institution. It was something that no one from my community had done, and the lack of representation from others in my community seemed to disencourage me from even applying. It was not until my senior year of high school that I began applying to colleges, when my older sister encouraged me to apply to the University of Michigan. She saw potential in the things that I could accomplish, but even her encouragement lacked to make me understand how I could be admitted into this predominately white institution. However, I applied early action and was ecstatic when I was accepted.
Professional Goals: I still have a little time left to figure out what grade it is that I want to teach. I’m honestly lost in this because I most enjoy working with college level student, but I absolutely love elementary level children as well. Over the past few years, I have worked here at Lone Star College under a few different titles. I was offered a job while taking a 1302 English class. The next semester, I began to work in developmental classes. I have supported several different English class along with some Educt classes as well. It has been my job to tailor the information that the professor has covered to meet the needs of my students, and I’ve become quite good at this. I am currently a Level III Master English tutor, and the Peer
My current career goals include working in the field of microbiology. Although, I am at a crossroads regarding my path of study: becoming a pathologist (medical doctor) or gaining a Masters as a microbiologist. I am highly interested in conducting research for the CDC or other firms in studying viruses and other pathogens and developing vaccines or cures. My interest for pathogens started as a child when I would watch countless zombie films. I later discovered I was more interested in the disease and the idea of a pandemic than the actual zombie thriller. In high school I enrolled in science classes and researched more about pathogens and occupations involving microorganisms and determined that I would pursue a career in microbiology. My interest

Throughout the last few weeks, I have been doing the time management monitor. This project has opened my eyes to how much time I am not using that I could be utilizing for planning my career. My major goals for this semester are to decide on a major and use this first semester to find a day to day rhythm. I also want to use this semester to find new friends and adjust to life in college. Doing this time monitor, I have realized that I have spent more time making friends and adjusting than I have done homework. I also have found out that I have not done much to help me decide what to do in my future.
Politics is defined by Webster dictionary as, “the activities, actions, and policies that are used to gain and hold power in a government or to influence a government.” I aim to one day work in our government and influence lives in a positive manner. I want to help create a sound government in any way possible. Intellectually, I yearn to learn more about the processes in government, to overall aid in my professional goal of being a successful politician.
As an early childhood educator, being in the grass searching for lady bugs or painting with plungers is my happy place. Even so, I have also felt a strong desire to mentor and teach a younger generation of educators. I have always been in a position of leadership while working in early childhood education and have found this to be equally as rewarding as the lightbulb moments you get to share with a child in the grass.
Known for my quirks and determined personality, I am the nineteen year old daughter of Dale Todd, a supervisor at an Interfor division in Baxley, Georgia. I am on the verge of successfully completing my second semester at Georgia Southern University located in Statesboro, Georgia. Although my plans have slightly changed as far as my career goals, I still hope to achieve a professional career. I had originally planned to go to school for Pre-Med, hoping to one day be a dentist, but after shadowing an occupational therapist, I have decided to major in exercise science. After obtaining that degree, I plan to apply to Augusta University in hopes to get accepted into their Masters of Health Science
I am a single mom, full-time student, and substitute teacher. I made a positive choice in my life to return to college as a degree-seeking, non-traditional student; as it has always been a childhood dream of mine to be the first person in my family to attend and graduate from college! I am close to my short-term goal accomplishment of earning my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology. One of my long-term goals is to become a psychologist in order to make a better life for me and my children, as well as helping others and giving back to my community. I value my education, and in addition to being very ambitious, I focus on my studies to maintain higher grades which will help to open up opportunities for employment in the field of Psychology.
