The Dragon The dragon that lurks underneath my skin most definitely holds me back from being the best person possible. The dragon in causes me to retreat into my comfort zone when life starts to throw obstacles my way. By retreating I avoid any complications that may erupt from confronting the dragon face to face. To defeat the dragon would give me the upper hand and the ability to take on any challenge thrown at me. The fear of branching out in life is my dragon, I have always been one to stay in my lane and do only what I know. Unlike Beowulf who displays fearlessness and braveness while tackling his dragon, I on the other hand do not inhabit these qualities because being fully human has its setbacks unfortunately. It would take all the strength in my body to just take down my dragon while Beowulf takes one stroke with a sword to slay his dragon. By branching out and experiencing life in a whole new perspective it would bring new meaning and appreciation for just being alive today. Along this journey many new risk must be taken like becoming friends with people out of my usual realm and making different life choices. By being the one who initiates conversation it would allow me to branch out into different types of friend groups from athletes to theater geeks. I would also be able to expand my knowledge on life by learning what my new friends enjoy doing and experiencing those activities with them.
