Mr. Roberts
The English bill of rights and the declaration rights of man and citizen are two of the most influential documents ever written between 1600-1800; those documents greatly affect the rights and freedom that everyone was born with today, it also greatly affects the US constitution about how they govern their country how they think about government. The two documents have many similarities and differences; those two documents were both created because of a similar reason. The kings that were ruling before those documents were created were both corrupted with power; the kings didn’t listen to the people and in the

(Blue) Although James had a much bigger army than William’s, lots of soldiers betrayed James and joined the other side; scared that they will kill him; he fled to France. (Harris) It was after the battle that they called it the glorious revolution, it was called glorious because in which religious and political problems were solved without bloodshed. February 2nd 1689 William and Mary were crowned as the first ruler where two people equally share the power. (Stuart) That year the English Bills of Rights were written which basically limited the power of the monarchs and that there are limits to what the King or Queen can do. William and Mary humbly accepted the document and signed, a new type of government also rose in which the people could choose who ruled their kingdom, and it was called a democratic government. (Stuart)
King Louis XVI controlled France during 1754-1793; the population was unevenly divided; the 3rd estate makes up about 97% of the entire population. The 3rd estate was very poor, they rarely could pay of rent or even pay for their food. Due to the huge debt king Lois owes from joining a war to help the Americans hoping avenge his grandfather’s losses to Britain he raised taxes.(Roberts) It made the people more angry; winter also came and created a drought which raised the cost of food. The majority of people
The Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen was created in 1789 after Louis XIV finally allowed the three estates to meet alongside one another, creating the "National Assembly". It is important to note the era in which it was created because it was created in a time where the feudal system had been the most powerful form of government for hundreds of years.
The Declaration of Independence, written in 1776, outlines the wrongdoings of the British government onto the thirteen colonies, and declares independence from Britain, and an important document from the American Revolution. The Declaration of the Rights of Man, written thirteen years after in 1789, is an important document from the French Revolution. The government, broken down in three estates, treated the third estate, and the largest, poorly compared to the privileged first and second estates. The Declaration of the Rights of Man was written to imply that citizens have natural born rights and they should be treated equally. Although both Declarations have the themes of equality and natural rights outlined in them and many other similarities,
As evident in the words of the Constitution, the Framers sought to shape a perfect union out of Colonial America while also reinforcing the importance of individual liberties via the Constitution’s Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights is a collection of the first ten amendments to the Constitution. Nearly a decade following the Continental Congress free of speech is preserved and guaranteed by the first amendment, solidifying the value Colonial Americans place upon individual liberties. By mimicking the principles laid out in the Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights most heavily defends individual liberties. Liberties such as protection against unwarranted search and seizures, the right to a speedy trail, and trail by jury. By defining and defending these individual liberties Colonial Americas designed a system for the collective good that would provide justice to the
The Bill of Rights has a long history entangled with that of the American Constitution. It was the anti-federalists attack on the American Constitution. Patrick Henry told the Virginia Convention, "What can avail your specious, imaginary balances, your rope-dancing, chain-rattling, ridiculous ideal checks and contrivances." They demanded a more concise constitution that clearly laid out the rights of the people and the limitations of the government. James Madison wrote in his diary, "that such fundamental maxims of free Government would be a good ground for an appeal to the sense of community against potential oppression and would counteract the impulses of interest and passion." The Bill of Rights that Madison passed was based heavily upon The Virginia Declaration of Rights. The Virginia Declaration was a document that was written during the British occupation. Thomas Jefferson drew heavily upon it for The Declaration of Independence. Because it was written during the time of oppression of the British it very specifically counteracts the then current grievances. Is the
The Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independance has an impact on our modern day society even though it was wrote many centuries ago. The Bill of Right is a document stating all of the right that a citizen in the United States has. The Declaration of Independence is another document stating the why the colonies wanted to break away from Great Britain. Both of these document give us the freedoms and right that all american have and without the them we would no longer be a free country.
The Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution are important documents because they protect the rights of citizens. During the time when we were under Britain rules, we had to do what they wanted us to do; our freedom did not mean anything to them. The Declaration of Independence gave American certain rights, it is an establishing document of American governmental practice. It speaks of the essential beliefs that shape the American people. In regards, that all men are created equal and have equal rights. Since the U. S. Constitution was created, it provided a better understanding as to how things should be done. The U.S. Constitution is the highest law and sanctioned the independent right of the people with the agreement of legislature’s states. It also provides
The Declaration of Independence and the Declaration of Rights of Man and the Citizen are both documents written by citizens that feel oppressed by their central government. The former document announced that the thirteen American colonies would become independent states no longer under British rule. On the other hand, the latter document lists the rights that the National Assembly of France believed were being neglected by the government. The documents are unrelated, yet they both convey a similar message. Overall, the documents argue that the government does not grant the citizens essential human rights, and they demand these liberties. Despite their similitude, the documents are also different. The Declaration of Independence places a greater emphasis on freedom while the Declaration of Rights of Man and the Citizen prioritizes equality.
The two arguments appear in the (DOI) Declaration of Independence and the (BOR) Bill of Rights. The comparison between the two has been clouded, and today the thoughts are routinely used on the other hand. At any rate, one does suggest different sorts of definite securities. Common freedoms are safeguards against government activities. Social equality, in other words, implies positive moves of government should take to make duplicate conditions for all Americans. The expression "social liberties" is as frequently
he constitution, bill of rights and amendments have changed the way the government and social settings of the United States viewed itself. I learned that the constitution is a document that defines the relationships of the parts of the government and the relationship of the government to its citizen, as well as that the bill of rights being amended to the constitution in order to protect the civil rights and liberties of the citizens and the states, in which the bill of rights will guaranteed a certain level of individual focus on how the government treated its citizens, it assured the safety of the people of the nation. It is very interesting to learn that based on the failures and consequences are what made the Bill of Rights what they are
Also, the Declaration of Natural Rights was composed to state our rights as Americans and explain the government and how it should respect the rights of the people. The Preamble also supplied the imposing rationality of their basis for wanting to scatter from the British government and the king. One of those reasons being, the colonists were in need of help from foreign nations, such as France, so they would assist in the war and help them overcome the rule of the British. Furthermore, the Preamble also wanted to announce to the colonies that America should be seen as independent and here are the reasons why. Plus, it supplied the British Parliament with their definition of government and how they should be ruled. That also stated how horrific the king has ruled
In the English Bill of Rights it says that the king is not allowed to pass laws or stop laws from being passed on to the people without the government, but in the American Declaration of Rights it says that king has forbidden his governors to pass laws that are very important to the people. He also did not pass down laws that were necessary for the people. Plus when the English Bill says that the king could not have armies surrounding the people during the time of peace because it makes the people feel threatened, but that is exactly what he does and he also have his army men living in the homes of the people. He also wages war, transports large armies from different places, starts acts of cruelty, and he takes certain citizens and he holds
The Declaration of Right of Man and Citizen was a document organized by an assembly

The Declaration of the Rights of man and Citizen is a document of French constitutional history. This declaration listed the rights of an individual, which guaranteed the rights of ¨liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression”. These are the supposed rights of human nature. It is organized into seventeen articles that state each right of man. It is said in the passage that the document greatly corresponds to the American Declaration of Independence. It also includes
