It is also the second language of the Jewish people. Hebrew originated in the Levant and used by ancient Israelites. Hebrew is a Semitic language that was introduced into the region with the creation of Israel. Sematic people are found from the Persian gulf to the Atlantic and southward into Sudan. Afro-Asiatic languages dominate the region more so in the remote areas of North Africa. The region’s main language is Arabic, but Hebrew, Berber, and Turkish are also spoken. The Arabic language is important to Muslims because it was the language where Muhammad received a message from God. Indo-European languages dominate the Iranian Plateau and the nearby mountains of Southwest Assia. The principle tongue is Persian. The Kurdish language is spoken by ten to fifteen million people in the region. The Kurds have a strong sense of shared cultural identiy. Kurdanistan has sometimes been called the world’d largest nation without its own political state. Kurds emerged as a cohesive group in the 2003 war in Iraq. They have now gained more political autonomy. Kurds in eastern Turkey are twenty percent of the nation’s population. The increasingly democratic country allows them more individual rights, but ther are still hoping for regional political autnonmy. When given this assignment, I was trying to think of a special population that I wanted to learn more about. Many different special populations came to mind. However, there is one in particular that I felt I knew very little about and began to question numerous aspects of their society; this culture is the Muslim culture. After doing some research, I realized that one of the most important dynamics to the Muslim culture is their Islamic faith. Islam is not only a religion, but it is a way of life to this population (Burrell, D., Pg. 18). The beliefs that Muslims uphold, in this religious sense, govern their way of life in almost every way possible. Once recognizing that religion is an extreme influential factor to their society, I wanted to learn what part of the religion gives the fundamental basis to this particular belief system. What I found regarding this are the five pillars of Islamic faith (IslamReligion.com).
Robert Mugabe spent ten years in prison before assuming the presidency of Zimbabwe. Instead of learning from his time in prison, he brought all his poor habits of corruption to the country of Zimbabwe (“Zimbabwe’s” 1). During his powerful rule, Zimbabwe faced many different situations within his country. Within the first few years of Mugabe being president, Zimbabwe started to have some political and economical issues. Whether or not the issues are a direct correlation to Mugabe being president is unknown, but the timing is impeccable. Money was starting to disappear within the government causing an economic crisis, and Zimbabwe was having massive poverty and inflation increases. These issues led to the conspiracy of a corrupt government

The Middle East is a beautiful region it consists of Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, and Yemen. There are many things about the Middle East that is so intriguing, but in this paper I am only going to focus on religion in the Middle East. The Middle East is an extremely diverse region in so many ways, culture, language, literature, art, etc., but most of all it is diverse because of its religions. There are hundreds of religions but the three religions that make up the foundation of religion in the Middle East; Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.
“In world history, the most important new factor in the eastern hemisphere was Islam,a religion that is linked to Judaic-Samaritan tradition of the Middle East.” Islam spread across North Africa to West Africa beginning from the eighth century onwards, by means of military conquest, enabling Muslims to wield tremendous political influence and power. The introduction of Islamic religion impacted social, political and cultural aspects of Africa by means of trade, politics, and conversion.

Sub-Saharan Africa, being a tropical region, ranks as one of the hottest regions on earth. This area receives more solar insulation than several other tropical regions. Thanks to technological advancements, hot temperatures do not cause a serious problem in the developed world. In these developed areas, heat only causes problems when power supply has been knocked out by storms or other hard-to-avoid occurrences. However, in sub-Saharan Africa, millions of people do not have access to electricity from grid connections. This means that these persons live in one of the earth’s hottest regions, yet have restricted access to the technologies that would have made life bearable.

In the years before the Postclassical Period, the northern African region was predominantly influenced by polytheistic and animistic religions. The region also held a variety of nomadic cultures that had a major focus on clan and family relationships. In familial roles, men had a different and higher standard than women. In 610 C.E., the religion of Islam was founded in the northern African region, and the establishment of this religion effectively revolutionized the region and its effects lasted for years afterwards. The emergence of Islam was the first instance in world history in which a religion, through its universal elements, was able to effectively revolutionize social relationships, political institutions, and economic establishments that helped completely unite societies within the region, and also was able to effectively spread itself across multiple empires within the Indian Ocean region.
The region of the Middle East and its inhabitants have always been a wonder to the Europeans, dating back to the years before the advent of Islam and the years following the Arab conquest. Today, the Islamic world spreads from the corners of the Philippines to the far edges of Spain and Central Africa. Various cultures have adopted the Islamic faith, and this blending of many different cultures has strengthened the universal Islamic culture. The religion of Islam has provided a new meaning to the lives of many people around the world. In the Islamic world, the religion defines and enriches culture and as a result the culture gives meaning to the individual. Islam is not only a religion, it is in its own way a culture. It may be this very
The objective of this work is to examine Islam, a highly controversial sensitive issue in today's world and specifically to examine the misconceptions, beliefs, and values of those of the Islamic faith. Most people think that the majority of Muslims live in the Middle East, while in reality there are more people of the Islamic faith living in Indonesia. Islam, just as Judaism and Christianity, is practiced in various cultures, serves to shape, and is shaped by those cultures. This study examines the perceptions of those of the three faiths in various countries and how they view one another and seek to answer how a level of threat is felt by those belonging to these three religious groups in various countries. Countries examined in this study include those of the United States, Great Britain, India, Pakistan, and the Middle East. The depth of understanding or the teachings of Islam among the various religious groups in these various countries will also be examined in terms of how these understandings impact the ways that Muslims and non-Muslims interact and communicate with one another.
