RAKUTEN SPIRIT WEEK Since our new bonus structure, we have excelled in many areas to hit our bones. We have yet to see a bonus, but I can honestly say that the team we have now is the best team to date. We may not all agree on everything everyday, but we dont let that hinder our performance. We are like family. We fight, argue, don't talk all the time but we laugh, joke, and most importantly we care for one another. We may not always show it, but the love is there. Enough of the mushy stuff, Since we have been doing such a good job, I think it's time for us to have some fun. May 22-26 we will be having spirit week. Different Theme for each day. Be creative and have fun. There will be prizes for most spirit (you must participate to win and
Ever since I was six years old, the year I was baptized, I have been on fire for the Lord. I attended a Christian school for eight years and have always been very involved at my church. My first experience outside of my “Christian bubble” was when I went to a public high school. For the first time in my life, I was out of my comfort zone. Being at a public school challenged my faith, strengthened my leadership skills, and forced me to branch out and meet people I would have never encountered otherwise. However, even though being at a public school helped strengthen my faith in ways I would have never guessed, I believe attending a Christian university—like Liberty—is the best choice to further my education. Going to college is new and exciting, but it can also be a demanding and intimidating experience. Being so far away from home, in a different environment,
Spirit Week has always been an enjoyable time for McGarvin, and this year had been no different. Hosted by ASB, the week, starting on Tuesday, was packed full of events and fun. Students enjoyed themselves in days such as Twin Day, Wacky Wednesday, Sports Day, and Formal Friday. At lunch, many participated in events that include Potato Sack Races, Musical Chairs, FLAGS, and Ski Races. Gretchen Lam states, “Spirit Week was fun. There were activities everyday and many students participated.” Not only that, but even students who didn’t participate in the various activities had fun. For example, Bricia Nguyen had says, “Spirit Week was fun. Even though I didn’t participate in most of the activities, it was fun being able to watch other students
It all started on boot day of spirit week in sixth grade. I was about eleven or twelve and I owned maybe two pairs of shoes that I actually liked and wore all the time. I was crazy about spirit week and would go all out, I still am that way now. The night before, I was rummaging through my closet and couldn’t find a pair of boots anywhere. I ran upstairs and asked my mom if she had any boots because we are close to the same size, but she didn’t have any and that broke my little sixth grade heart. The next day, feeling defeated, I walked to the bus stop and saw my friend Lauren. I told her about my failed attempt to find a pair of boots, and a second later she just took off running into her house across the street. She came out of the house
It appears the Holy Spirit has graciously lead me into your midst for my required internship this academic year. As a student at United Theological Seminary for a second masters in Religious Leadership, I am writing to you today to tell you a little bit about myself.
Is there an in school club, sport or class you enjoy? Schools offer clubs such as student council association (SCA), yearbook and drama clubs. They also offer sports/activities like track, cross-country and cheer. They even offer writing, theatre and French classes. One club that students enjoy is SCA.
It was a warm and sunny day. The bleachers were filled with people tentatively watching and cheering on the athletes. I sat anxiously chewing on my nails, awaiting the result of the 3rd down. I watched as my favorite athlete caught the ball and began running down the sideline. I jumped up on my feet screaming at the top of my lungs "Go, Go, Go". He ran past the 50 yard line. My heart began beating so fast, I thought it was going to jump out of my chest and land on my lap. Then he ran down the 40 yard line. My eyes started to sting because I refused to blink and miss one second. 30. My hands started trembling anxiously. 20. I started to feel the excitement bubble in the pit of stomach. 10. My breathing started getting heavier. TOUCHDOWN!!!!! The athlete spiked the ball and began doing a victory dance. The crowd went absolutely wild. I was so ecstatic, I started to jump up and down.
Spirit week is valuable and important because it displays your school pride, your creativity, and it’s fun. During spirit week you are not only able to dress up on the designated days, but you are able to attend pep rallies, assemblies, homecoming, football games, and powder puff games.
From about the early 1600s-mid 1800s, African-American spiritual were very popular amongst the black community. They were originally formed to provide comfort and ease the boredom of daily tasks. Also, they were a form of spiritual devotion and a longing for freedom from slavery. You may be surprised to hear that some popular songs, such as “Amazing Grace”, were originally African-American spirituals. Another famous spiritual is “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot,” by Wallis Willis. The term “spiritual” comes from the Kings James Bible translation of Ephesians 5:19: “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” Typically when singing spirituals,
To indicate whether a surface is level or plumb spirit level or Bubble level is used. Original spirit levels are comprised of two bananas shaped curved glass vials at each point of view. They are little complicated in structure. The spirit level will be placed in such a way that the tripod in between two points and the height difference between those points can be calculated easily. To mark the points markers in rock or soil are used. A leveling rod equipped with measured graduations is placed on each point. The focus of the viewer will be pointed on each road and values can be calculated from it. Calculate the difference of back and forward value to find the height difference.
The principles of discipleship can be found throughout the Bible. One of the ultimate goals of discipleship is to become more Christ like which makes Jesus's life and grace an excellent basis for discipleship. Jesus invested in twelve men, the first Disciples, and entrusted them to continue the process. Peter, James, and John were a part of Christ's inner circle and he fostered and encouraged an exalted spiritual life and growth in these three. Paul was a Pharisee who was murdering Christians and then his life was transformed and he became an apostle. He gave his life over to God's purpose not only in a broad perspective, bringing the Gospel to the Gentiles, but also personal. Timothy was a disciple of Paul; Paul was personally involved in Timothy's life. The Great Commission commands the Disciples, in Matthew 28:19, to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit". The Disciples followed the Great Commission and Christianity spread. Believers are meant to follow the
In today’s society, there is an impending question amongst many Christians. Should Christians read the bible every day? I believe it is necessary to read the bible most of the time. Although, when it comes down to the how often you read, this is based on a person’s overall walk with God. Whether the person is a new believer, a weak believer, or strong believer the amount they read the bible is based upon this.
Baptism in (or with) the Holy Spirit is a very important, distinctive Christian experience in the life of the believer. The basis is found in the book of Acts, specifically the event of Pentecost.

18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
When thinking about sacred time from a religious point of view, this time could be specific festivals, commemorations or time that is used to place value on certain life events. This time is normally viewed as a time that is set apart from day-to-day living, signifying why it is sacred. However, in my opinion, Buddhism views this aspect a little differently. The process of Enlightenment has always been long and intricate, transforming through over millennia from something that was beyond achievable, to something that should be woven throughout everyday life (Lecture__). For those wishing to experience the true nature of reality, this sacred experience could be aspired to every day.
