If the person is local, then I will require a face-to-face interview. I will define local as anyone who is within a 100 mile radius. Those who are not will be done through a videoconference. A lot of the times we will see that people who are giving an interview are trained to see different type of body language in an individual which may indicate that the individual is not being honest. This is why these are so important. So these interviews will provide us with a more accurate screening as they will not be able to provide false information. These interviews also allow for the interviewer to have control over the interview and can keep the individual on task to completion. My interviews will also be one on one because they tend to be more structured which mean it requires more active intervention from conductor. It is important for getting a more in depth understanding on the respondent’s personal experiences and opinions. These interviews usually last 20-40 minutes on average. With this being said, I will require a minimum of 20 minutes and a maximum of 40 minutes. They will also require a resume to be sent before the time of interview to be reviewed. My structured questions will include the following: -Give an example of a time that you had to help someone come to terms with the fact that have a handful of choices on how to go about handling a problem …show more content…
–Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years? –List any strengths and weakness that you believe you have as a worker. Unstructured interviews tend to be unreliable and they are often not job related. These are going to be used to get a more general idea of what the individual is like. I will be starting off with these questions first then go into my structured questions.
The only tests I have heard of is what is known as the psychometric test. What this test does is provides you with a questionnaire that is usually very simple and will detect the traits of a person that probably would not be admitted to while in the actual interview. I will also require a background check of the individual. This is important because look at criminal history, education and employment history, civil records, references, etc. It helps a company in staying safe and ensures that the individual can do what they claim. These two things will both be scheduled on a different day after the question and answer portion of the
A couple of days ago, I got the chance to interview one of my dad’s friends, Nate, about his experiences with interviews. Currently a Nurse Practitioner, he has had over ten different jobs in his lifetime, ranging from a managerial position at KFC to an emergency room nurse. Just like his past jobs, the types of interviews that he has been in have been wildly different. He has even conducted a few interviews himself. Soon I will be participating in important, career-defining, interviews and it is important that I understand the ropes of an interview. I asked him only a couple of questions, but I got detailed answers and invaluable insights from the mind of both a successful interviewee and

Starting from my freshman year in high school I have always been more intrigued by the human mind and how it operates. Thanks to the study of psychology my curiosity only flourished even more as I got older. I find the observations psychology gives about human behavior very interesting, and I have been fascinated by it for as long as I can remember. I’ve been caught in between approaching the journey of being a sports psychologist and an industrial organizational psychologist. I am passionate about sports and studying Psychology. I plan on extending my knowledge in the mixture of the two and contributing it towards my future. I want to examine the various areas of sports psychology and also learn more about the idea of improving quality performance
Men and women are psychologically different in many ways. Some of these differences include competitiveness, goal orientation, self-confidence, motivation, mental toughness, incentives, preferences, etc. According to Anne Bowker in Sports Participation and Self-Esteem, Men have an advantage over women in sports because they're more aggressive and have higher self-esteem (2003).

A potential career that I have in mind is becoming a Sport Psychologist. The first scholarly article I found is titled “NCAA Athletic Administrators’ Preferred Characteristics for Sport Psychology Positions: A Consumer Market Analysis”. Examples of how professional philosophy is the foundation of sport psychology practice are shown. And a conceptualization of the philosophy of service through s discussion of the the necessary components that were grouped using a hierarchy chart are explained. Both of these articles use a unique research process, and have relevance to my potential career path.

It has been identified that through sports psychology one can improve their physical ability and performance. Sports psychology is the study of how the mind, mental states and behaviour effect sporting performance. There are several sport psychology techniques, which have helped me become a better volleyball player. These techniques include planning for performance, controlling arousal levels, mental rehearsal and concentration.
In earlier days sports psychology was mostly concerned with developing assessment methods that would identify those people with the potential to become serious superior athletes. Today the focus is on psychological training, exercises that strengthen the mental skills that will help athletic performances on the path to excellence. These skills include mental imagery and focus training. If an athlete is serious about becoming the best he or she can possibly be, the most essential ingredient is commitment to practice the right things. It takes incredible commitment to reach the top: a commitment to rest and train the body so it can perform under the most demanding conditions and a commitment to train the mind to
Competitive sports has always been a of a controversial topic and discussed in good and bad ways. People who disagree with this tend to say this can cause major injuries. This is just a few examples of one of the most highly debated topics. People who do agree with this say its good for staying healthy I personally wouldn't let my child play sports.
If I would have had positive ways to release my energy through playing sports I could have avoided people with ulterior motives. I would not have felt the urge to receive an adrenaline rush doing negative acts. This could have put one around positive friends. Playing sports could have helped build my self-esteem and confidence. This could have made me become closer with my family, before long, I would have valued my family over my friends. Playing sports also could have also helped me deal with others opinion of me. Ultimately, playing sports would have put one in an improved position when dealing with negative feelings or
Being an athlete can be hard or just inconvenient with have long school days. The athlete could be hurt educationally{not having a good grade, ect.} Most of the time students will be too tired to try and might lose time on the field for lacking effort in practice. A student can also be too tired or not have enough time, depending on how long practices are, to do homework. School is supposed to provide education but if a student is not doing homework due to long school days and practice right after, he/she will not be able to maintain a good grade due to the fact of not completing their assignments.A student might not even be able to study properly causing them to lack information needed to pass a test or quiz. In HHS, if someone were to be
When I think of the word interview I think of it as a series of questions asked from one person to another to seek information. In my previous assessment we were asked to interview a fellow peer, on their personal experience of QIBT so far this year. We were not given any question, but made to think of our own. As we were interviewing our peer another peer was marking us on our overall ability to interview. This piece of reflective writing will be an explanation of what I thought my personal strengths and weaknesses were throughout my interview.
