The job I have chosen to do my interview on is a sports psychologist. The responsibilities of a sports psychologist include the following things: evaluate what the client is in need of as well as evaluating their abilities; and observe athletic performance and behaviors that go with that; come up with different strategies that are going to help the client overcome whatever they are having a hard time with and putting these strategies into effect; putting an update on the athletes performance; seeing that the individual has the ability to develop as time goes on; working with a other psychologists, nutritionist, and physiologists; providing the individual with counseling and different kinds of workshops that go over the different …show more content…

If the person is local, then I will require a face-to-face interview. I will define local as anyone who is within a 100 mile radius. Those who are not will be done through a videoconference. A lot of the times we will see that people who are giving an interview are trained to see different type of body language in an individual which may indicate that the individual is not being honest. This is why these are so important. So these interviews will provide us with a more accurate screening as they will not be able to provide false information. These interviews also allow for the interviewer to have control over the interview and can keep the individual on task to completion. 
 My interviews will also be one on one because they tend to be more structured which mean it requires more active intervention from conductor. It is important for getting a more in depth understanding on the respondent’s personal experiences and opinions. These interviews usually last 20-40 minutes on average. With this being said, I will require a minimum of 20 minutes and a maximum of 40 minutes. They will also require a resume to be sent before the time of interview to be reviewed. 
My structured questions will include the following:

–Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years? –List any strengths and weakness that you believe you have as a worker. Unstructured interviews tend to be unreliable and they are often not job related. These are going to be used to get a more general idea of what the individual is like. I will be starting off with these questions first then go into my structured questions.
The only tests I have heard of is what is known as the psychometric test. What this test does is provides you with a questionnaire that is usually very simple and will detect the traits of a person that probably would not be admitted to while in the actual interview. I will also require a background check of the individual. This is important because look at criminal history, education and employment history, civil records, references, etc. It helps a company in staying safe and ensures that the individual can do what they claim.
