Transferring to a four year school has never been a question for me, it is and always has been, a non negotiable expectation I have for myself. I am currently attending Mohawk Valley Community College, a two year school which I will be graduating from in December, after only three semesters, with an associates degree in International Studies. I chose a community college initially because I was unsure as to which field I wanted to major in. Before I made my decision however, I was presented with the idea that I should save money and go to a community college where I could change and explore different majors without any serious financial repercussions. This turned out to be the best decision I could have made at the time, as not only have

The Suny Stony Brook Honors College would be a perfect fit for me for a wide array of reasons. Even though I may not seem like a suitable candidate for this program by being part of this program I will gain the extra motivation to work harder at my work. The Honors College provides its students the opportunity to participate in research at its highest level. This is very important to me because in High school I did research at a university and this helped me learn a great deal about the topic and by doing research in Stony Brook I can better understand my major. Also in the honors college these students are given the chance to be close with the faculty. This will greatly give beneficial to me because it will help me learn much better when I
I would love to attend Wake STEM Early College High School because I believe it will give me a head start on my learning after the high school level. Your program will improve my college experience and save thousands of dollars in college tuition by giving me an associates degree and high school diploma upon graduation. I am also exceedingly interested in a career in science or mathematics. I have always been focused on learning science and math because it is something I love to do and I can have a successful career in the future by using those skills. I understand that attending this prestigious school will require a certain level of maturity and willingness to work hard. As an 8th grader at West Lake Middle School, I am a member of the National
I am a hardworking student that gets their work done. I’m used to getting straight A’s on my report card and great things said from my teachers. I study hard when I need to and I stay focused. I feel that going to Renaissance High School will challenge me academically. I will also be surrounded by others who are willing to learn and think that education is important.
At this point in my college career, I have reached the limit as to what the Miami-Dade Honors College can offer me. So far I have pursued an Associate in Arts degree in Biology and am looking forward to the next step in my education. My experiences here have allowed me to grow heavily both as a student and an individual, but I am limited in the amount of resources currently available to me. For example, I do not have the variety of courses and study abroad opportunities that four-year college students have. Hence, I have taken all the science and math courses towards my associates degree at Miami-Dade College, but I am left to explore other options to continue to advance my preparation for a career in the science field. This is because I have
When I was nine I told my mother I was going to be the first female Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and since then my passion for law and politics has only grown. I enjoy being in thick of things and using my energy to move ideas forward. I love persuading others on topics that I see will make our community better for all of us. Participating in activities and events such as Buckeye Girls State, and the National Speech and Debate tournament have broaden my horizons immensely. However, something not listed on the resume is the conversations that happen outside of the rounds, where people come together to discuss different issues because it excites them. I love the political process, it drives the activities I do, the classes
When you are done with community college, you can transfer to a 4 year college, working on your intended major. However, you can apply for need-based aid or merit based aid, sometimes making four year institutions considerably easier to pay off, or even free if you receive a full ride scholarship.
The main reason I came to Bronx Science was because Bronx Science was my top choice for high school. Both my mom and I felt that Bronx Science will give me better opportunities than what the University Scholars program at Francis Lewis, the other high school I was accepted into, would give me. In this course I hope to cover genetics or anatomy because I am highly interested in the human body. I would like to know how cells work as well as DNA. I would also like to know how is passed down and what DNA we share with other things, if any, because of evolution. I am interested in anatomy because I’d like to learn more about how different parts of the body works with other parts. I find the anatomy of animals and insects especially interesting because
Students beginning their higher education at a community college have a breadth of accessible opportunities at their fingertips. Community college is a smart option for persons seeking a quality education at a lower price, it is an invaluable stepping stone to attending a 4 year university, and it provides an occasion to interact with people from diverse cultures. Advice I would give a community college student planning to transfer to a four year university is to use their time wisely and take the community college experience seriously. Use this beneficial stage between high school and a four year university to learn how to manage time, complete and turn in assignments by deadlines, work diligently to follow teachers’ instructions, and strive
I am eager for what my future has in store for me. I am apprehensive about the obstacles i will have to overcome on my way to success. I have a great deal of support from my friends and family when it comes to what I am driven to do after graduating from Buckingham Charter Magnet High School. Throughout all the years of my school career, I have always been indecisive about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Buckingham Charter Magnet High School has helped me finally decide that I wanted to go to Solano Community College to attend their Cosmetology Program.
Having a plan about what to do with your future is an essential part of being successful. This plan could be as simple as going into the workforce right out of high school, or going to further your education. A plan should revolve around your personal career choice. A two step education plan to pursue a career as a bakery owner is the best choice for me after high school, even though some may argue against it.
In order to remain competitive in the workplace, it is essential to have at least an undergraduate degree. I obtained my Associate’s degree in Education at CUNY Medgar Evers College, after which I decided to take a semester off to work full-time. When that semester turned into two, then a year and a half, and with an unfinished degree looming over me, I realized it was time get serious and finish what I started. Through its online program, Empire State College offers me the flexibility I need to juggle school and a full-time job, which is one of the reasons I am applying to Empire State College. It has the positive reputation I am looking for in a college and is among the most affordable colleges I researched.
High School. I do enjoy my classes because of the people in them and the
My biggest reason as to why I wish to transfer is that I simply wish to continue my education. The school I am currently attending only offers degrees up to an associates and after this year I will have attended for five semesters. However, at the end of this year I will not graduate with an associates but that was my intention from the beginning. The reason why I wanted to start off at a community college was so I could have a chance to discover exactly what career I wanted to go into and what would best suit me and these past two years have helped me to do so. I have decided to apply as a biology major with a focus in medical. My objective of attending a four year school is to graduate with my bachelors and then attend graduate school to
Dear family, I am having second thoughts about continuing my education. I realize that working full time and having family that depends on you can be a challenge. I remember whisper in a soft voice that when my daughters complete college that I was going back to further your education. I know you are counting on me to achieve this lifetime goal. So here is what I want to do. I will keep in mind why I chose Bethel University and why it was it was so important for me to continue my education. This decision was made because of the structure of it curriculums and how it is the perfect fix for working adult. The day when Orientation class is over and move forward to getting into my major will be a joy.
