Why go to Teton Science School? Teton Science School is a place that provides you with great opportunities to learn, experience, and accomplish what you cannot in a regular school day, and I hope to do just that! What I hope to learn at TSS is, about the snowpack of the GYE, and how it affects the mountain and avalanches that happen there. I also want to learn about the types of animal habitats that exist there. It would be great to know how the environment in which they survive is, and what they do in the mountains when it’s below freezing. Another topic I would like to have a better understanding of is the tree species. I want to be able to identify the different species around me as we are hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing. TSS is a great
Billions of people wonder day by day and repeatedly ask themselves a question, “Why am I here?” Personally, I always knew what I wanted to achieve ever since childhood. This was the easy step in my life because I knew what I wanted and I still know that I’ll do anything to get to my final destination. This requires undertaking the difficulties of the academic path by attending various institutions.
I’m interested in attending USNA Summer STEM because I have a strong interest in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. I plan on attending the United States Naval Academy and graduate as a Nuclear Reactor Engineer and serve my country for life. I have made strong connections with the staff at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and want to make great connections with the staff, cadets, and shipmates I’d be working alongside with at the academy. I hope to serve my country with Honor, Courage, and Commitment in the STEM field of the U.S. Navy.
Senior year is such a busy, long, and stressful school. On top of all that is deciding which college you would want to attend and the process to get into whatever school you choose. Personally, ever since I was young, I was kind of obligated to attend Texas Tech by my relatives. Being that I was born in the small town of Brownfield, Texas and most of my family is from there, they made frequent trips to Lubbock being that it was only forty-five minutes away. Thus, they fell in love with the school, their sports teams, and the environment. I on the other hand, hadn’t experienced all this due to the fact that I grew up in Amarillo, Texas. But every time my family would visit my relatives in Brownfield, I would always expect the usual “So have you applied to Tech yet?” and “We’re going to have a Red Raider in the family!” but you know at the time I was just starting senior year. Nonetheless I really needed to start thinking about it because in no time I’ll be graduating high school. When I did start deciding what college I wanted to attend, my family didn’t really want me to attend a college out of state because they wanted me to be close if I ever needed anything and wanted me to safe. So that narrowed it down quite a bit. Being from Amarillo, we had a community college of Amarillo College and West
Texas A&M Corpus Christi’s location as well as the atmosphere attracted me to the campus. I grew up in a small town and when I visited the campus I felt at home. I was in awe when I toured the nursing department and observed the demonstrations. I would like to apply for the biomedical science, nursing or health science program and pursue a career as a Physician Assistant.
The main reason I came to Bronx Science was because Bronx Science was my top choice for high school. Both my mom and I felt that Bronx Science will give me better opportunities than what the University Scholars program at Francis Lewis, the other high school I was accepted into, would give me. In this course I hope to cover genetics or anatomy because I am highly interested in the human body. I would like to know how cells work as well as DNA. I would also like to know how is passed down and what DNA we share with other things, if any, because of evolution. I am interested in anatomy because I’d like to learn more about how different parts of the body works with other parts. I find the anatomy of animals and insects especially interesting because
For this course we received a hands-on opportunity to view science in an outdoors setting at Nixon County Park. I attended a training session to learn more about the practices and procedures of nature education and assisted two grade levels of children that visited the park. I helped first graders on a nature walk and fourth graders on an indoor lesson about animals. Both were unique experiences that helped me learn to become a better teacher of science.
My intended major is that of bachelors in Japanese. Japanese has always been an interest to me as I grew up in the Japanese side of my household. Due to this upbringing I have been exposed to Japanese culture since I can remember. Though my Father and Grandparents refused to teach me the language as a young age, they began to support my interest in the language and culture when I started journey in Mira Costa Community College. In Mira Costa, while taking my first Japanese course, I was introduced to the Japanese club at the college. In this Club, the members made sure to create activities and programs that would help spread the culture and knowledge of Japanese and the language. Along with this came people that introduced myself to the International
I am Eduardo Mendoza, and I am 21 years old. My favorite sport is soccer, which I also, coach a soccer team, and this weekend, I made it to finals. I am really happy, and can’t wait for the final. I been taking classes here at Cerritos College for about two years now. Also, I have taken classes at CSULA. I have never taken any Economics class at all, this will be my very first Economics class. I hope to achieve a lot of knowledge out of this class, that will help me in my future career. My educational goal at Cerritos College is to earn an A.A Degree in Business Administration. I hope to achieve this goal by the end of Fall 2017, which is this year. After, I graduate, I would like to be a manager for a very big company, and
Why I want to attend UNC Wilmington is because college has always been a very prominent milestone in my life. Ever since I was young, I was yearning to learn more about college and what I could accomplish there and how I could expand my educational horizons. I never found the perfect college, despite years of searching. A few years ago though, I did find my perfect college. It was UNCW. After stepping onto the campus, I immediately felt like I was at home. It was a second nature to be there, pass the buildings, and walk with the students. I could see myself sitting with a group of friends, studying on a Friday night, or taking part in clubs and activities that I could have never dreamed of. UNCW also grabbed my attention geographically as
money to support yourself? Last but not least, Pine Island needs to teach their students how to invest in their future. It would have been nice to know that there were tools out there such as money bonds and the stock market that I could have been investing in to help increase my financial stability over time. I have many friends that have set up money bonds that have grown over 4 percent in only three years’ time! The money in which I possess could have been growing in money bonds or even in the stock market, but my high school failed to teach me either of those options. Pine Island High School needs to step up their game and start teaching students how to properly manage their
I came to SIATech to get my diploma. More specifically get a diploma so I can move onto college. And I’m glad I came to SIATech it taught me qualities I’ll need in the future to get to where I want to, most importantly it taught me commitment and responsibility. Getting up early in morning and having to take the bus and sprinter to go do some schoolwork I’ve already done or have some type of knowledge in just to finish something I was supposed to have done a year ago, definitely hit me with the realization how stupid it was not to take school seriously. Life is sort of like a race, though you’re only competing with yourself, it doesn’t mean you should go slower just because you can, you should work faster because you’re able to.
I would like to attend this program because although I am a native Spanish speaker, I have not been able to practice much due to living in a area where Spanish speaking cultures are scarce. This is a great opportunity for me so I can practice my Spanish and learn about different Spanish speaking cultures.
I would be honored to attend Benet Academy for various reasons. After reviewing the website and seeing all the school has to offer I have decided Benet would be the best school to help me develop my catholic faith, prepare me for college, and have many people who care about me. I strongly feel after considering other schools that these things will be best taken care of at Benet Academy.
You need to keep up with your grades. If your grades are not good when you're done in high school you won't have a chance to get in college and continue with your basketball career. College is a lot harder than high school. If you don't pay attention in high school, you won't know anything in college. Keep working on your basketball skills. You need to be able to dunk before you get out of high school. Asian can’t jump so you would need to work a lot harder than others. If you are wanting to go to college and getting into the NBA,then you better start working a lot harder. Try to go to the University Of Wisconsin Because that's where you/me grew up at. The University Of Wisconsin Has a good Basketball/Football Team. My dream is to get into the
Some unique qualities I posses is to be open about others ideas, beliefs, or opinion and to give a very respectful feedback. I believe this quality will help me contribute a lot to the YYGS community because i understand there are lots of different perspective that students have experienced therefore someone’s idea should never be wrong or discourages. Instead of harshly responding we as individuals should consider and be open to others perspective in what he/she believe or experienced. In the YYGS community there is great diversity of students and teacher. As individuals we must always respect and pass no judgement without understanding the outlooks. In addition, I would not untruthful do my ideas because lying won’t provide me with the best experience in the YYGS program.
