Imagine a lush forest with a creek weaving through it and 6 kids running along with a woman behind, pointing out the bright green moss and little salamanders shimmying along the rocks. This woman is nature- loving Stephanie Perles who is talented and kind especially to curious kids. She always loves to take us on hikes and always welcomes us kindly. Stephanie is so talented and loves to help out. Stephanie Perles is such a good role model who loves the outdoors, is kind and very talented. First of all, Stephanie loves to outside and nature. Stephanie works as a botanist for State College and is a role model for me that way. I have emailed her a few times to ask about nature and how she loves the earth. Next, she has a big garden filled with succulent fruits and vegetables ready to pick throughout the season. She last, but definitely not least, is always ready to take us into the forest to explore. I remember when she took us into the forest to walk around the brook and try to catch red spotted newts otherwise known as red efts. She took us to see to wildlife and her outdoorsy adventurousness side shone. Stephanie loves the environment and is kind to plants and animals. …show more content…
First, Stephanie is always welcoming to our family whenever we visit their home in State. Helpfully, she takes our coats and shows us rooms in their house when we come. Next, she always entertains and plays with her kids. They love to learn about the outside and just play together. Playing with her kids is one thing that she truly loves. Last, she helps us when we are hurt. If friends or family get a scratch, she is always there to help. For example, once I was climbing a tree and I fell and scratched myself. She was there to help me then and when I was bitten by a wasp. On many trips, she has been there to help and be kind to us with her
When I come over to her house she is usually cooking our favorite food. She cares for all of us and when we are upset she will try to make us feel better. Even though she is sick, she still cares for us and we take care for her because we don’t want her to move on to a new life. Every time I get sick she tells me to take medicine or pills so I can feel better. She is a really nice person who cares about kids.
Another aspect of Stephanie’s life is partnering with The Dream Center of Lakeland. She pairs Fire Athletics with a local outreach and serves the community. It is not a glamorous part of her life and is a lot of work but, it is obvious that it is an important and impactful part of her life. She is willing to give her time to help others and connect her community, such as Southeastern, with other ones, like Crystal Grove. It is very admirable, that someone with such a busy schedule, takes time to give back and be involved in the community; that speaks volumes about her character.
After many years of teaching engineering, Mr. Larkin retired at the end of the 2015/2016 school year. Filling in his shoes is Jennifer Hood, a familiar face to many students at Amory High School. Mrs. Hood is a graduate of South Panola; Itawamba Community College, where she was drum major and homecoming queen; and Mississippi University for Women. She is the wife of Randy Hood, who is employed at True Temper, and mother of Tyler Hood, a football player at Delta State University, and Tucker Hood, a student at Smithville High School. Mrs. Hood enjoys spending time with her family and watching her sons play sports.
She is always to everybody, no matter how their past was. Shawn also does not choose any sides during an argument besides arguing. If our family wants something, depending whether it is good or not she will help us get it. My mum is very nice to my family and mostly everybody else she meets.
1) Some commonalities in “ The Gettysburg Address,” and this is that they both use figurative language and rhetorical devices. For example in “The Gettysburg Address,” Lincoln uses parallelism. He uses parallelism when he says, “ that government of the people, by the people, for the people.” In the LT HOF Speech Tomlinson uses parallelism when he says, “ Let’s not slam the door on those who may look or sound different from us. Rather, let’s open it wide for those who believe in themselves, that anything is possible, and are willing to compete and take whatever risks necessary to work hard, to succeed When we open the door for others to compete, we fulfill the promise of ‘one Nation under God with liberty and justice for all.”
During this time, I can assure you that she was a huge asset to our organization. Norah excelled and most amiably shared her love for Art with her students and colleagues, in a manner that I have rarely seen before. Her love for Art is to be respected and admired. She has also helped our students to believe they were all artists in their own way.
Her ray of love has even brought six kids to this gorgeous state. She had four of them in a life span of six years from the age eighteen to twenty-four. Seven years later she had my sister Chrissy and nine years after that she had me. She would do anything to make this family shine brighter and has shown me to do the same. Her love and affection
She lives in a small home that she and her husband built the year they were married. It is out in the country on a few acres of land that she still maintains by herself. Her husband unfortunately died of cancer only 5 years after their son was born. She makes sure you know that she does not need a man. This lady is highly independent and has a close knit group of friends that keeps her entertained. Her grandkids are clearly the apple of her eye. She helps take care of them as often as she can and makes almost
Africa has a huge problem with dictators not running the country so that it can operate at its fullest potential. In her book Why 28 Stephanie Noland tries to make the population aware of the problem stating, “He dealt the country’s vibrant economy a first harsh blow, making a massive payment to men who claimed to be veterans of the fight for independence…” of Zimbabwe’s dictator Mugabe (Noland 299). This shows that as a ruler he was not concerned in using money to heal his country. His love of power is tearing his country apart, causing his population to dwindle, and driving his economy into the ground. Mugabe “ Sent troops to demolish houses on the slums were he believed people had voted against him,” writes Stephanie (Noland 300). This is essential because it shows the lengths he was willing to go to to stay the head of the country. He was willing to further decimate his population, just to make sure there was never a rebellion. All this oppression, abuse of power, and neglect can not go on for long without the people rising up and fighting back. This is how civil wars are created.
The Author mentions about the exchange she has with Chris Santella, about his love for national parks , She mentions that Chris Santella has a corporate career but still chose to leave it behind to write about his adventures and experiences which he had during his visit to many national parks , She asks him about his love for camping & national parks, he replies saying that it makes him feel different, but not keeping him busy, taking aside the worries of doing things and engage in observation, which induces a peaceful awakening within him. He also mentiones about his daughters, the young generation are engaged with digital devices, which deprives them of establishing a connection with nature and thus leading them not to understand it. He
She has of course always brightened up our lives. You never did learn to turn lights off did you. She always complained that she had nothing to wear, but managed to fill six wardrobes and most of the floor with it. Funny that now she has her own house she is really house proud. Anyway she always dressed to kill, and cooked the same way. Only joking, we have had some lovely meals at your house.
Today in America, millions of American citizens are both confused and outraged by the fact that there are still laws that are preventing people from using one of the most popular and controversial, illegal substances in the world: marijuana. According to recent polls, fifty percent of Americans want marijuana to be completely legal and decriminalized (Blodget), and a whopping eighty percent of Americans want it to be at least legalized for medical use (RangelMD). So why do so many Americans want marijuana to be legalized? To some this question can be easily answered, but to others, it’s not so simple. There are way too many reasons to count why
My Wooded World Sheila Visingardi tells a story about how nature plays a huge part in her life. As a child she would sit in the beautiful, relaxing, woods and let her mind wander. It was as if the branches would call to her. (Lines 2-4) As the speaker grows older the woods have become an escape for her. The woods represent a sanctuary. This is where she feels inspired and creative, and also safe and at home. It is “a world full of imagination, creativity, resourcefulness, as well as inspiration.” (Lines 7-8)
This year will be my first year here at Newton North. Last year, I attended a private school in Brookline. As a freshman there, I took a western civilization history class which started off with the Roman Empire. I enjoy studying history, particularly because of how it can give us perspective about how our modern society came to be. As a result of this, I very much enjoyed this past year’s history class and managed to learn a ton of history. Last year my teacher, Mr. Dore, assigned the class a five-page historiographical analysis of the fall of Rome. This assignment was particularly challenging and allowed me to develop my analytical writing skills. This year in history, I am looking forward to further developing my writing and critical thinking skills as well as, gaining more knowledge of the history of the world.
Over time my appreciation for outdoors has matured greatly. I love listening to the sound of the raindrops splattering across the roof or the site of the snowflakes falling past the leafless trees. In this essay, I'm going to define my relationship with nature. I'm going to tell about my experiences and how much I personally love Mother Nature.
