Recess periods should not be a replacement for physical education classes. Students also need recess because it refreshes their mind which helps them refocus, and recess gives students social time with other students to talk about random topics that may not have any relation to school learning. Also, some students do not get time outside because they do not get recess at school and they may not have a safe place to play at their home. First of all, recess can allow students to relax and release energy.
