I can improve my practices as a student trainer next year by beginning the new football season with a strong and motivated mentality now that I have experienced what will come my way, as well as be ready to learn more as a trainer now that it will be my second year being in this organization. Moreover, I will take on a leadership role, if assigned to me, with a professionally ready attitude due to my previous experiences as a leader in other organizations and will work my best to keep the organization running as it should be and be attentive to all of my fellow student trainers so that they may stay on task as
I was born into a competitive family and I fell in love with the desire to compete. Everyone who I have been coached by in my athletic career has taught me the importance of winning and how much more enjoyable it is when you are part of a successful team. I processed all my information and I still had been unable to put it all together. I emailed Mr. Spear and I asked him for some advice over the summer as the school year rapidly approached. He got back to me rather quickly and told me various ideas, but one of them caught my eye and it was something that was right there the whole time: Coaching. Since I was young, I have been very blessed to have had the opportunity to learn from so many coaches, I knew it would be a superb opportunity to get myself involved in coaching. It was important for me to find a valuable way to enter into coaching and that’s when I learned the clear way to get involved in coaching is by entering into youth sports. But, I still felt that the coaching part itself was not enough to get me through the year, so I decided to implicate another part of my project. I wanted to learn league
As an athlete, I acknowledge the guidance and energy thrived off a special coaches. To recognize that their main priority is to guide us with positive vibes and to play the role as another effective role model in our lives. They’re are more than the ones who corrects your mistakes, pushes you regardless of your indecisive to do anything,
It is my job as a coach to help develop athletes physically, psychologically, and socially while helping them have fun by playing a sport. I will do this by being enthusiastic and having a positive attitude in practice, games, and while not coaching. This cooperative approach to coaching will create a sense of community within the team I coach, and the athletes will feel more welcome to discuss their thoughts, ideas, questions, and concerns with me. Creating this setting and relationships with athletes will only benefit the team by creating a team culture necessary for the well-being and success of high school sports’ teams. Success in sports means accomplishing goals set by the team, not winning. Winning is important, but just striving to win is even more vital toward the success of teams. As a coach, I will also be a motivator for athletes. Athletes will see me come to practice with a positive attitude, displaying my passion. This is the beginning of how I will motivate athletes. Motivation starts with my attitude, and athletes pick up on this. In order to motivate and want to be motivated, there must be a reason, a why? I will use the teams’ goals they will set, in order to motivate them to give their best effort in order to achieve success by reaching their
Because I am acknowledging the importance of the role of an athletic trainer, I am able to welcome the assortment of tasks I may come in contact with. By embracing the athletic training program, I will consistently strive toward the best alternatives and resolutions in circumstances I will be involved in. Because I sense the significance of this profession, I will provide the best care for each patient I come in contact with. I recognize the significance of
For a lot of kids, it’s not until it’s all said and done, and they look back on it several years later, that they realize the difference the sport made in their lives. They are proud of playing the game. Have you ever met anybody who accomplished playing four years of high school football, and at the end of that run said, ‘Man, I wish I wouldn’t have played’? It doesn’t get said. Football players aren’t perfect. Nobody is. But millions of former players, one by one, can recount the life-altering principles they learned from football. They know the value of football is the values in football. That’s why high school football – and particularly high school coaches – play such a vital role in our society. Our football coaches are on the front lines of the battle for the hearts and minds of the boys in our society.
But the learning of these skills takes commitment. The commitment of your time and your willingness to do your best. “Another disadvantage to playing football is that the sport requires a significant commitment of time. Often, during the season a player's schedule revolves entirely around the team -- practices, gym workouts, games, film breakdown -- and it makes life considerably more hectic”(Goldsmith). The hectic schedule can cause the players to lack behind in their classes and can also stress the student out because they have to be able to perform their best both in the sport and their
I will be courteous to all coaches, officials and other parent volunteers who are trying to help me become a better player. I will do my best in all practices and games, have patience with myself and remember that I am playing these games for fun. I will attend every practice and game I can, knowing that my team will depend on me to be there. Finally, I will play hard at every position that my coaches assign to
Have you ever felt like you’re not good enough, not knowing just how much potential you have? One of the most salient experiences of my life was making the Island Coast High School football team, because it taught me that to succeed you must be confident in yourself. The old me would have thought, “ I’m not good enough,” because I never thought that I could compete with kids that already played football. I suppose that I always felt like i couldn’t compete with football players because whenever I would play football in eighth grade, I would not be able to keep up with them. Little did I know, all of that was about to change the day I made my way to the middle of the humid, scorching fied, staring into the eyes of North Ft. Myers Highs’ freshman football team.
Listening to your coaches will not only benefit you on the field, but will instill the noble
One of the most significant influences upon high school athletes can often be found in professional athletes; these experts can offer an example to live up to, and advice to hardworking student athletes. As Thomas Jefferson football players looked forward to Winter Break, they received a special surprise, offering them inspiration and thoughts to carry them through their off-season, through the visit of famed Broncos player DeMarcus Ware. On Tuesday, December 8th, in addition to providing a stellar pep-talk and kind words to TJ’s players, Ware also presented an abundance of new equipment to TJ’s football team, leaving many players already eager to begin the new season.
Throughout the season we had some big defeats from the tougher schools, however I was able to maintain our team’s morale throughout our wins and losses. And Fundraising. Oh boy those were tough. This year was very different from the previous with the new restrictions. However this brought out our teams creativity. These new obstacles brought pushed our team to think out of the box and work together in effort to raise money for the team.
Over the years, playing soccer has taught me what it takes to succeed. From months of tough practices, I have gained a hard work ethic. From my coaches and fellow teammates, I have learned to work well with others in a group, as it is necessary to cooperate with teammates on the playing field. But most important, I have also gained self-confidence. If I fail, it doesn't' t matter if they mock or ridicule me; I will simply try again and do it better. I realize that it is necessary to risk failure in order to gain success. The

In football, our coaching staff drilled into our minds that it [football] is nothing more than a stepping stone. Furthermore, it helped me to develop characteristics that will benefit me all throughout my adult life. It taught me to be honest, patient, loyal, dedicated, decent, and how to work hard. It showed me that in order to perform at the best that I could be, I would need to choose what offered the best result. That result may not have shown immediately, but it always came. It showed me that much was required of me, such as sufficient grades and following training policies, before I could be given my chance to
During my internship I worked with Franklin High School’s football team, I started on June 25th and worked all the way to August 14th Monday-Friday for 3.5 hours each day. So all together I gotten a total of 122 hours. What I did during the internship was help the coaches in any way I possibly could, such as help setting up equipment for drills, helping the quarterbacks warm up, help run drills , and being the ball boy during their scrimmages. I did anything that the coaches asked me to help with. From this experience, I learned many things that goes into being a coach for a football team. There were some thing that I noticed about the football team that I learned about in my sports in society class. I remember talking about how some athletes think that sports are their only way of being successful, and their only way of getting out were their living right now. Some of the high schoolers saw football as their ticket of getting out of their predicaments. Sometimes they focus so much on football that they let their grades slip and get into trouble with their classes. Though the coaches do a real good job of reminding them that it’s just not their athletic ability that’ll get them into a good college, but they also have to get good grades too. The coaches do a real good job of keeping their athletes on the right track and help them when they need help so that they can play football. Something that I learned in my sponsorship and sales class helped with this situation. We
