Students should go to college rather than going straight to work Upon graduating from high school, student may begin to question the importance of a college education. Some high school students may find it an appealing thought being able to immediately generate an income after graduation due to on-the-job training, but studies have shown that college educated workers tend to be more successful and earn a better pay than non-college educated employees. Once one has a college degree the sky is the limit as there are endless opportunities. Therefore in today’s economic climate, students should go straight to college after high school if they wish to have a better pay, career chances, and flexibility in today’s modern and constantly evolving world. Even though many people go straight into the work force after graduating from high school, the earning possibilities are limited with just a high school diploma. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics Data shows that in 2011, the median annual pay in the U S for people with a bachelor’s degree was $54.756. That’s 65 percent more than the median annual pay of $33,176 for people with only a high school diploma. With changes in economic climate, it is no surprise that people are worried about their financial security in today’s world.
