The invention of the forward pass and its official adoption in 1906 is proof positive that fundamentally the game has room to advance. “By all accounts, the forward pass was the invention that saved the game of football after a great rugby player from Yale in the 1880s, Walter Camp, pioneered rules changes that slowly transformed rugby into the new game of American Football.” -Birth of Pro Football

Football, or as it is known in Canada the Gridiron, is considered an American passion. With the advent of the television, the sport has become the premier event; although, in comparison to other sports, like soccer and basketball it has less recreational participants. Nonetheless, football is part of the American culture and is the primary pass time during holiday and homecoming celebrations. Indeed, no other world sport possesses such parabolic baggage as does the sport. An aggressive, inflexible hierarchical, and one-gendered sport it is still appreciated by its supporters and detractors alike. However, with all the attention being placed on the fans of the game, sometimes it is easy to forget the impact it has on the players of the game. Consequently, this paper will highlight the impact of the sport on its players. It will do this by examining three fronts: the physical impact, psychological impact, and financial impact.

“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.” That's right it's me, Muhammad Ali the world's greatest boxer to have ever lived. I'm Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. or you can call me Muhammad Ali. My greatest achievement is becoming one of the world's greatest boxers. I was born January 17th, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. My mother is Odessa Grady Clay and my father is Cassius Marcellus Clay Sr. I had only one brother and he was Rahman Ali. A few years later when I was 12 years old I had my bike stolen from me. I told a police officer and said “I want to beat up the person who stole my bike.” And he said “well you have to know how to fight before going out and doing it.” And he trained people to fight so he took me in under his wing and taught me

In the sport of boxing there are many effects psychologically that boxers face every time they set there feet on a ring.

During the first kickoff of a game, an opposing player and I collided helmet to helmet; hitting the ground I realized something was wrong. After the play I was rushed to the hospital and informed by the doctor that my vertebrae had been fractured in two areas. I would not be able to finish my football season and miss the basketball season as well. Spending the next two and a half months in physical therapy; I learned countless things about the profession and what it entails. Not only does the human body fascinate me, but so does the idea of having
