since its eastern half continued for another thousand years in the form of the Byzantine Empire. While just how—and when—the Empire fell remains a subject of ongoing debate, certain theories have emerged as the most popular explanations for Western Rome’s decline and disintegration. Read on to discover eight reasons why one of history’s most legendary empires finally came crashing down.here is.The most straightforward theory for Western Rome’s collapse pins the fall on a string of military losses sustained against outside forces. Rome had tangled with Germanic tribes for centuries, but by the 300s “barbarian” groups like the Goths had encroached beyond the Empire’s borders. The Romans weathered a Germanic uprising in the late fourth century, but in 410 the Visigoth King Alaric successfully sacked the city of Rome. The Empire spent the next several decades under constant threat before “the Eternal City” was raided again in 455, this time by the Vandals. Finally, in 476, the Germanic leader Odoacer staged a revolt and deposed the Emperor Romulus Augustulus. From then on, no Roman emperor would ever again …show more content…
If we don't take care of the world as a whole, then our problems in our country aren't going to matter. There are many things that we can do to fight global warming. We have come out with hybrid cars and solar-powered houses. With today's technology, global warming should not be an issue, but with people acting like the problem does not exist, we cannot fight it. People need to open their eyes and see that it is a real problem and do something about it. The war. It is still costing us money and people. Our troops are still over there getting killed every day. It's also costing us money to send them over there and rebuild what we just destroyed. I believe that we should bring home the troops because our job there is done and they didn't help us rebuild what our country lost. I believe if we just brought them home, then the solution would be solved. This is what I believe is hurting the U.S. the most today. Pollution and global warming. It only isn't harming the U.S., but we are contributing to harming our planet. A possible solution to pollution is recycle everything that can be recycled and have more public transportation all across the states. A possible solution to our global warming issue is to use products that don't contain any CFCs. Also, we could invent something that we can put on our city buildings that would absorb the sunlight, instead of reflecting it back which would lower the greenhouse
For a long period of time, Rome seemed like an unstoppable empire. It conquered the majority of the land surrounding it, including Greece, Turkey, Iraq, and many of its other neighboring countries. It seemed as though Rome would conquer the entire world, as it was the center of it, until it began to decline in 476 C.E. The very aspects that made it so successful were the ones that caused its collapse. Various political, religious, and economic reasons caused its downfall. The fact that the entire economy of Rome collapsed and money became worthless was a major reason for the empire’s collapse. In addition, the loss of a common religion and lack of efficient ruling in relation to its vast territory affected the empire. The Roman
Following the decline of the Western Roman Empire in 476 CE, a new empire rose up in the ashes. This new empire, the Byzantine Empire, was a culmination of Western Roman cultures and tradition, yet, it also contains many distinctive features. Originating from the same empire, the two empires display similar cultural roots.
The reason that economic crisis contributed to the fall of the Roman empire was because the Roman empire didn’t have much gold to trade which means less money for the Roman empire to use to make improvements in their empire. The next reason is because according to document number 2 “People produced their own goods rather than trading them” because the Roman Empire was not safe to trade with. The 3rd reason is because tons of merchants that used to have trade routes for the Roman empire wasn’t safe for them because merchants were afraid that people were going to attack
After nearly half a millennium of rule, the Romans began to lose their grip on Europe in the fifth century. The Fall of Rome left in its ruin political chaos, confusion, wide spread devastation, although the Romans at the time had no idea the fall of Rome was occurring. Divide of Western and Eastern Rome, invasions, military disloyalty, and economic instability are some of the factors associated with the fall of Rome. In AD 476, the last Roman emperor in the west, Romulus Augustulus, was removed from power by Odovacar, leader of the Goths.
The Barbaric invasions began in 400 AD and affected Rome for the next 400 years. To summarize, the barbaric invasions was when many groups attacked Rome in a short amount of time and took over the land(document 6). Furthermore, “The Roman army was composed entirely of Germans”(document 5), which was another reason why their military was weak. Their military had a shortage of soldiers and was very lazy, which made the invasions harder to control. Also, the Barbaric invasions slowed down trade.
The Roman Empire was one of the largest empires in history. Rome shifted from a republic to an empire and was under control of an emperor. They were able to successfully conquer several places and were undefeated for many, many years. How did such a strong, thriving empire fall so easily? There were several minor factors that led to the downfall, but the three primary reasons that caused the “fall” of Rome were disease, overexpansion, and invasion.
The Roman Empire: one of the world’s greatest ever civilizations, was in existence from 700 BC to 476 AD. Although the empire was not ever an extremely weak world power, it’s “highest” point in time was from about 50 BC to 200 AD. During this time period, it was at its all-time high. The empire spanned across what is today 3 continents (Asia Minor, Europe, Northern Africa), was home to 50 million people, and had a its capital city, Rome, had a population of 1 million people. But what can make such a huge world superpower collapse? The “Fall of Rome” can be accredited to a weakened central government troubled by political assassinations, disease, and foreign invasion, during the empire’s last century of sheer existence.

The Roman Empire, once one of the largest and most powerful empires in history, conquered the whole Mediterranean region and spread throughout the Middle East, Western and Central Europe and even Northern Africa. It reached its pinnacle during 100 and 200 AD but then slowly began to unravel. As it has been said, “Rome wasn’t built in a day” so it certainly didn’t take only a day for Rome to fall. Rome began to face many issues during the third century. The Roman Empire became much too large to manage.
The great Roman empire started as a small city in around 750 BCE. But Rome quickly grew from a small city to a large empire pouring over its boundaries into foreign lands with foreign people. This empire grew bigger and stronger till I was one of the strongest empires in history. One question many people have is how did an empire so strong, suddenly fall into nothing. The answer is in these primary reasons for the fall of Rome.
The Fall of Western Empire 2500ish years ago, Rome’s Western Empire fell, creating widespread chaos. Still to this day, no one knows how it fell. Even though people have 7 different theories on how they think the empire fell, there are just three that makes the most sense and that has good evidence. People say that the reason the Western Empire feel was because of the political standpoint, bad economy, and the citizens not participating.
Today, there are already organizations promoting awareness of global warming and trying to make our thoughts to one. In Sweden, they produce environmentally friendly cars and give big tax; In Great Britain, they build a lot of windmills; Australia banned the sale of incandescent light bulbs and started a program called Proarbol to help stop deforestation and to increase jungles in Mexico. Countries including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, EU, India, Indonesia, Russia, South Africa and America have set goals to reduce green house gas emission or carbon emission by a certain amount until 2020. If there’s a problem, solutions defiantly exist and all we need is a little more consideration during everyday life. Things you can do are to set you’re A.C higher, take public transportation, start using renewable energy and encourage others around you, don’t pour oil or paint into sinks, donate for eco friendly groups, don’t litter in public areas and promote the cause to people around you. Bigger things the government can do is to establish protected wild-life areas and parks, limit road constructions, reduce deforestation, build more schools, fight wrong information and to prepare for impacts. Since human can create
In the later half of the fourth century the Western Roman Empire fell after nearly a five hundred years of dominance and is still widely considered the world’s greatest superpower (Andrews). Many people attribute the crumbling of the empire to multiple different reasons, like corrupt and insane leaders to overspending and inflation. As J.B Bury said once “the fall of the roman empire was a series of contingent events. In this paper we are going to cover the three main reasons. Political and Economical problems plus problems with the military(Wood).
These invasions resulted in multiple changes in the Empire that ultimately weakened it. As the various invading tribes moved into Roman territory, they destroyed the farmland and fields they passed through. This decreased agricultural production in the Empire (Spielvogel 186). Then, in the late fourth century, the Huns moved west out of Asia, forcing the German barbarian tribe of Visigoths, a sub-tribe of the Goths who had previously invaded Rome, to move south and west into Roman territories. They were allowed to remain on Roman land for a time, but when the Romans tried to force the tribe out, the Visigoths fought back, leading to a great military defeat for the Roman Army in 378 at Adrianople in Greece (Spielvogel 187). The Roman Empire was never able to recover the numbers
Since its collapse, historians have attempted to explain the struggle for power and control over both the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire that followed. To explain the complexities of the Roman Republic, the Empire, and their political complexities can be a daunting task. For nearly ten centuries Rome would rule most of the known world before the fall of the Western Empire (Byzantine) in 476 C.E. Before that fall occurred, a fundamental change would take place that would transform the original Republic into the Roman Empire. Many factors would be directly and indirectly responsible for this transition. These would
