1. In addition to the basic consumer rights expressed in the consumer’s Magna Carta, what other expectations do you think consumer stakeholders have of business? The basic consumer rights expressed in the Magna Carta include the right to safety; they want products to be free of pesticides and the drugs we purchase and foods we consume are safe as well as product safety. Secondly, there is the right to be informed, which refers to the right to know about a product, and the use of a product, and this deals with advertising and marketing. There is also the right to make choices, meaning the competition makes sure there are other options available, and lastly, to be heard, meaning consumers have the right to communicate with business concerning what they may want in a product, and any complaints they may have about a product (Carroll, 2012, p. 392). In addition to these rights, consumers demand fair value for money spent on a product; they also expect a product to meet reasonable expectations, which means the product will as be safe, and thoroughly tested according to regulation and if it is not safe, it should be taken off the market. In addition, consumers expect complete disclosure of the descriptions and design of a product or service, and that there is truth in advertisements (Carroll, 2012, p. 393).
2. What is your opinion of the consumerism movement? Is it “alive and well” or is it dead?
Provide evidence for your observations.
I feel consumerism is alive and well.
Human rights were born along with human life despite the fact people were not aware of their existence. John, the king of England back in 1215 was one of the first powerful leaders of that time who compiled a document called “Magna Carta”. As the most important figure of England, he made a summary of rights starting from freedom of the English Church including free election, and free guaranteed rights to all the heirs of the kingdom. To continue with assistance per baron’s families who died during military service. Unfortunately, the term woman was used in this document just to show her inessential role for society. For the first time in history John, the king of England gave the right to men of England that

The Magna Carta By about 1200 the power of the English king had started to worry some nobles. They feared that kings would abuse their powers and take away the nobles’ rights. Their concerns reached a crisis under King John in 1215. Eventually, the nobles forced John to accept a document outlining their rights. Magna Carta is known as a document that simply defined the relationship between lord and vassal.
The Magna Carta has been a standout amongst the most productive and important documents in history. English Nobles created this paper. They made it to limited the power of the king, protect peoples rights, due process, to show the king has to follow all the same laws the people on his land follow too and many others. The Magna Carta influenced the executive historical process that led to the Rule of Constitutional law, the development of the Common Law, Charters of Freedom and Gettysburg Address. Notably, the U.S Constitution. The following quote from the U.S Constitution supports that is was influenced by the Magna Carta "no person shall ... be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of the law." Limited government and rule of law are two exhibited political values seen in the Magna Carta. In this historical document, a few English lords wanted to limit the power that the King had, and therefore made him sign the Magna Carta, so he could not have infinite power while ruling. They restricted his power to rule by having him sign the document. Limited government is when the people who are ruling do not have absolute power over the whole political system, hence why it’s called limited government! Rule of law is another political value in this document, as the Magna Carta came to mean that no one- not even the King- was above the law. Since not even the King could be free from laws, and rule of law essentially means that everyone must
The Magna Carta limited King John's powers because the civilians finally spoke up and made demands of what they wanted and set laws the King had to abide by.
The U.S. Constitution, drafted by the founding fathers at the constitutional convention, drew from several historical documents, ideas, and figures in order to “form a more perfect union.” Among these influences were the Magna Carta and English Bill of Rights, originating in England. However, the U.S. sought to differentiate from England, in order to be better than what they had recently gained independence from. In order to do so, the founding fathers referenced The Mayflower Compact, The Articles of Confederation, Social Contract Theory, Classical history, and Montesquieu. Through the inclusion of these ideas, the United States Constitution made improvements to Great Britain’s government system.
There were several events that influenced and inspired the colonists’ ways of composing a central government. For instance, the Magna Carta was a document that was the base of British justice and law. The Magna Carta achieves justice and law by declaring that the king and government officials were required to follow the same laws as British citizens. This idea inspired the U.S Bill of Right which brought new insight to an end of unchecked powers and protected elites. Similar to the Magna Carta was the constitutional document called the Petition of Right of 1628. The petition of Right of 1628 include the law that the a king could not raise taxes without consent from Parliament, quartering of soldiers was not required, and the right to habeas
To truly understand the consumer’s needs one must listen to what the consumer wants and desires, it takes very little effort on the part of Company Q to understand the needs of its consumers. The effort we make can be the difference between a store’s success and a store going bankrupt. Insuring that Company Q's stores standout amongst its competitors in the marketplace will help give Company Q a competitive edge.
In year 1215, one of the most significant documents was signed by King John, the Magna Carta. The Magna Carta was constructed to reduce powers by King John, and to make him regulate the country by the old English law. King John came to an agreement with a group of people who had been rebelling against him- the barons, he promised the group he would observe standards of conduct. The Barons were a group of 25 men that did not agree with King John. They were unhappy with King Johns greed and cruelty. The group allocated clause 61, ensuring the king complies with the terms. The document guaranteed: freedom for the English church, protection of the law for all free men, and freedom from excessive fines and taxation on citizens.

Creating the Consumer Protection Act was the most sensible way of accomplishing the goal of protecting the children from being misled or deceived. The objective of the law is to protect people; this Act was created to protect young children from any possible risks/danger that advertisements might give. The way this Act was created was with good intent, with the children’s safety in mind, and not to limit the rights of any individuals. Therefore, this limitation is clearly a rational connection to the purpose of this
The Magna Carta meaning ‘The Great Charter’ is the cornerstone for the U.S Constitution, laying the foundation for the evolution of the parliamentary government and subsequent declarations. It was the first constitutional text that identified English liberties for the path to democracy.
The Magna Carta, also known as the “Great Charter”, is one of the best known political documents in history. It has influenced nearly every great document of note following it, including the Declaration of Independence written by the founding fathers of America. The Magna Carta was a direct result of the reigns of King Richard the Lionheart and his brother King John and was written by barons who wanted to protect their rights, albeit in a way that mostly benefitted them. Therefore, this paper will attempt to examine the historical context surrounding the Magna Carta, what concerns the document demonstrated about the reigns of Richard and John as exemplified by the demands within the charter, and how the Magna Carta changed the relationship
