The current generation of skateboards is dominated by street skateboarding. Most boards are about 7¼ to 8 inches wide and 30 to 32 inches long. The wheels are made of an extremely hard polyurethane, with hardness. I was born january 1, 1999 in fort lauderdale Fl. I was always a quiet kid until I started skating when I was five it was like love at first sight. I lived in Florida for five more years then moved to nashville. For 2 years I was depressed and homesick. School in nashville wasn't that good either I would get in trouble because I would protect myself from bullies. Once I got into middle school I became less violent. I think skating really got me away from that. Then throughout all of middle school teachers didn't like me because of my underacheving mind set. I would always tell them why do I need a peice of paper to show my intellgence. During that time I would also disregard school for skating.

They sailed in canoes from Samoa and Tonga to Tahiti , Hawaii and finally New Zealand. They made up the sport for fun and as they went and many of the places took it up as a fun sport . The Hawaiians even enjoyed it so much they made it their cultural essential. In the late 18th century european captain James cook saw the hawaiians surfing and was very impressed.

Even though skateboarding seems like a dangerous or tricky sport; it is a great mode of transportation and keeps you in awesome shape too. Skateboarding can be practiced for competition, or it can be something people do just for fun! “Skateboard Safety” says, “Skateboarding is a fun and healthy sport that can give you a low-impact aerobic workout” (Safety First). That being said, skateboarding can also be used as a fun, new way to get a workout in or even a different and more enjoyable method of transportation. It is definitely an extremely useful and easy to learn sport! Skateboarding also has many advantages and disadvantages.
