The House of Hades. Sounds scary, doesn’t it? If you tried to think what this book might be about without having read it you would most likely think of death and despair. You probably think that this a dark, gruesome tale. Well, you would be mistaken. This is a Disney book, believe it or not. Sure there are ghosts and monsters, but that is not at all, the main idea of the story. It’s about friendship and the lengths people will go to for it. Before I continue with my paper I would like to introduce you to the characters that I will be talking about in this paper. First, there are the seven. There is Hazel, Frank, Leo, Piper Jason, Percy and Annabeth. Percy and Annabeth are in Tartarus the others are on the Argo II. The Argo II is a boat and …show more content…
The seven had to give up a normal life to save the world and that is only the first. Bob the good Titan and Damasen the good Giant sacrifice their lives to get Percy and Annabeth through the Doors of Death and out of Tartarus. They fought an army of monsters and the god Tartarus himself to save some friends, they had met not too long beforehand. If that’s not true friendship I don’t know what it is. Another illustration is when Hazel was dying and Nico was turned into a corn plant. Frank had to go out and kill all of the monsters in Vince. Gentle harmless Frank had to go out and kill hundreds of monsters risking his life. He was prepared to sacrifice anything and everything for his friends. One more model is that Percy wanted to stay behind in Tartarus to get Annabeth through the Doors of Death. Of course she wouldn’t let him do that. Trust is very vital in this novel. Everyone has been through so much together that they have learned to trust each other blindly. Which has saved their lives on several occasions. In every chapter there is an example of trust. My favorite trust moment in this book is when Frank hands Leo his piece of wood. Leo made a fireproof pouch for it. Leo has fire powers and the small piece of wood represents Frank’s life force. If it were to burn up Frank would burn up with it. Would you trust your life force with a friend that could break it with just a thought? I know I

Hey! You! Yeah, you. You should go on a kamikaze mission so you can join the armies of the dead! Hades is the god of the dead, and he is in charge of The Underworld. In addition he is the keeper of the paths by which the dead come to him. Hades (sometimes called Pluto) was the oldest of three brothers, who were Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus. The ancient Greeks portrayed the underworld as a place for all the dead and clearly visualized it in their myths and legends.
In the book the “House of Hades” by Rick Riordan the characters show lots of actions that help contribute to the book. Each characters has these actions however I am going to talk about 3 of them, one of them is Frank's fight in Veience, Jason choosing Greek, and Piper fighting Khione. One action that is extremely important is Frank’s fight in Venice. The text says “Frank dropped like a stone and turned back to human from. He ran to the middle of the bridge----a natural choke point---and threw his bait of poisonous roots on the neck behind him.
The book “The House of Hades” by Rick Riordan is written based on the quest that these demigods go on. It all starts after the Titan War ends. Camp Half-Blood’s oracle Rachel Dare shares a new prophecy and it’s a big one, she says in her trance “Seven half-bloods shall answer the call, To storm or fire, the world must fall, An oath to keep with a final breath, And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death. “ This is what the whole Heroes of Olympus series is all about. It is kind of like a treasure map that these demigods are following and they are trying to get to the big red “X” in Athens, and in this particular book the demigods are at the last leg and going through the last line of the prophecy, “And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.”
Metis the Goddess of wisdom was pregnant with Athene. Because Zeus felt that Athene would be so wise he felt it would be a threat to his power. He felt that Athena would be stronger than even his bolts. In order to prevent this from happening he tricked Metis and swallowed her whole. However, Metis was still able to conceive Athene and gods gave her birth through the way of his head.

s, he was not considered to be death itself, as this was a different god, called Thanatos. The Rocky Mountains are a great sight to see if you ever travel to the west, but have you ever wondered where they come from? It’s a short story but a good one. It has to do with gods and the underworld. The god of the underworld Hades got into a war with his brothers for a short time. Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon started to gather resources and immortals. Zeus gathered the Olympians, but some began to fight for Zeus brothers. Poseidon and Hades had made relationships with the Olympians, Poseidon convinced Theseus and Apollo to fight with him in the Battle. Hades convinced Hermes, Zeus gathered Hercules and Athena. These brothers and family were at war now and nothing could stop them.
When video games and Greek mythology cross paths, typically the God of War franchise comes to mind. However, when Greek mythology and a pixelized retro-styling cross paths, Olympia Rising enters the fray. Players take control of Iola, a young warrior who finds herself cast to the Underworld. Iola must escape Hades’ domain and make her exit towards Mount Olympus. Throughout the journey, players will have to face off against various mythological beasts, as they traverse the nightmarish hell that awaits in the Underworld.
In the book “ The House of Hades” by Rick Riordan the setting supports the theme by showing us how the characters work together in tough places. “ Keep climbing” He told himself. “Cheeseburgers” his stomach replied. ( Riordan, 103)
The style in a piece of writing is the author´s purpose for creating the writing. The three styles are known as PIE, P-persuade; I-Inform; E-Entertain. In the book, ¨The House of Hades¨ , there are two styles. The first style is entertain. Most fiction resources are made to entertain and ¨The House of Hades¨ is no exception. It is obvious the writer made this book to tell the reader about an adventure of Greek and Roman demigods and their path to success of both beating Gaea and destroying the long wall of hate throughout the Greek and Roman´s history. Another style in the book is inform. This book informs everyone of the Greek and Roman gods history and what every god's purpose is; ex. Jupiter, or Zeus in greek is the god of storms and the
