What does it mean to be a good person? Being good has many meanings. It can be to contribute to help someone or simply to be nice to that person. A good person is most likely respected by people around them.

In the first chapter of Book 1, Lewis disarms those that have a negative view of Christianity by exposing our inner nature, basically our behavior with others or who is right and who is wrong. Lewis is appealing to a standard that he calls the Law of Human Nature. Lewis states that no one is able to keep the law of human nature. Lewis points out that the law of human nature is the same for all civilizations and ages, no one is immune. Concluding this Chapter, Lewis paraphrases the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans

Morals, character, integrity, what do these words mean….actually, the question is, do you have them. A man named Dwight Moody once said, “Character is what you are in the dark.” You cannot see your morals, character, or integrity, these are only shown as your values. Someone could only show their own values, which are very important to themselves and everyone else. Integrity is the firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values. The way you show your integrity, character, and morals or how they are effect you in either a negative or positive way. There are many causes to how your values are. So as you know, integrity is very important and it is important to have it.

C.S. Lewis covers many topics in his fourth book contained in Mere Christianity titled BEYOND PERSONALITY: OR FIRST STEPS IN THE DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY. He addresses such topics as theology, what it means to be the Son of God, the three personal God, the relationship of God and time, the cost of being a Christian, how God works to turn us into image of Christ, why Christian growth is both hard and easy, and also what he thinks about our old personalities before becoming Christians. These are all relative topics that apply to us and our daily lives. Learning and understanding this book can help a Christian tremendously in forming a deeper relationship with God.

Is it a man who has poor judgment and allows himself to be stolen from like Red Sam? Is it a person who has consistent morals and leads himself to do what is needed to live? Well, the line continues to be blurred throughout this story by the grandmother’s continuous use of labeling people good.

What does it mean to be a good person? How can one respect oneself without hurting others? Are we able to judge whether a decision is wrong or right? Do we really know what love is? ... Questions like these have always existed, but what happens when an author tries to comprehend the complexity of being ‘good people’? Is it possible to write about an issue like this? In David Foster Wallace’s short story “Good People” from 2007 we experience an attempt to do so.

Ethical behavior is significant to the development of persuasion, and important to the behavior of humans.It also influences persuasion by developing the progression of persuasion, and increasing those who are accountable for it. A person’s ethical behavior originates with morals and changes into what way an individual is required to connect to encourage effectively and dependably and finishes with who obligation it is to take responsibility in a persuasive interchange. The significance of our ethical behavior is realized within all our origins as human beings and stands as the groundwork of our different societies. We are directed by our ethical customs in the cultures which we create and live. “ The persuader’s determined actions means more under deontological ethics than under teleological ethics”( Magee,2014). According to David B. Resnik, J.D.,( 2011), ethics is defined as standards for behavior that differentiate between tolerable and intolerable conduct. Ethical morals of behavior that specify how an individual should conduct them self centered on ethical responsibilities and qualities.

Being good could mean being a good citizen that follows the laws. It also means avoiding getting fines and committing crimes that lead some to end up in prison or jail. This means being a stand-up citizen or a role model to other citizens so that they could also act in a civilized manner. They follow all the rules and regulations of the local, state, and federal government. Not speeding and getting a parking ticket, reporting any crimes, and doing community service are one of the many ways a citizen can be a good. Morality is defined as a recognition or belief that explains why some behaviors are bad or good. In simple words, morality refers to values relating to the distinction between wrong and right or good and bad. Few morals are easily accepted and are only questioned by some fringes of society who might disagree with such morals. These individuals on the fringes can be bad or good. The ones who reject socially accepted moral does not necessarily mean that they are good persons. Thus, one can say that each individual has morals that are different from each other (Joseph).

A “good life” is an expression that is used to describe an ideal life for one to live. There are many different interpretations of what exactly a good life is. Like Johnson explains in Unspeakable conversation, not matter if you’re big, short, intelligent, disabled or healthy everyone has a place in life and once YOU find it nothing else matters. Singer in Unspeakable Conversations agrees that disables people aren’t worth the money, care and emotional stress, but people are blinded by the actual disability itself. Disabled or not everyone laughs, loves, accomplish and succeed one way or another. Like disabled people, children in less developed parts of Africa might have different views on what a “good life” is, they vision the "good life" as having an education, a safe place to live, clean food and water, and a more promising future. People who life a good life in my opinion are ones that live a healthy lifestyle, motivations to accomplish and set goals to strive and help others.
