Introduction
I observe Mr. D’s Adult ESL class at EC San Diegofacility. Heteaches fifteen intermediate level of ESL learners and the nationalities of learners vary.His class focuses on reading and writing, but deals with four skills of English language, especially vocabulary, grammar, speaking, and writing skills. Learners take six weeks intensive English Language course to improve their English proficiency. This language school’s fundamental goal is to help learners prepare in a global community. His class focuses on reading and writing and emphasizes especially vocabulary, grammar, syntactic structure, reading strategies and writing formats.He teaches four skills of English language and integrates each constituent into everyday lesson plan, especially focusing on vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing skills. I only attended two hourslong writing class, so I missed the ending part of class which Mr. D introduces the daily reading passage related the learners’ life, “Amazon Go” apps.
C. The Curriculum
Learners take six weeks intensive English Language course to improve their English proficiency. This language school’s fundamental goal is to help learners prepare in a global community. Through short-term intensive language courses, the learners fortify their English language learning foundation and enhance their ability in reading and writing. Learners attend six week long courses. Learners take diagnostic test on the first week and are assigned into an appropriate level. In five weeks, they take another assessment test, compare the improvement of English language proficiency, and enroll an adequate level of course for the next six-week term.
